  1. Ground fire? What ground fire? You can't subdue the ION cannon from space. And it doesn't destroy subsystems as I understand, only disables the ship. Another problem, you wont have enough pop cap to have 4 ISD in a single fleet, let alone with all those other ships.
  2. This may be because the Probe Droid may not actually have a 3-d representation in the game because it is a Galactic level only unit. Delphi's answer to my question in the 3rd Q/A session is where I got this info.
  3. This by inferrence states that only capital ships can be renamed, therefore you can not rename ground units, structures, space structures, squadrons, etc. Then again, none of these have been explicitly stated so that is why I started this thread. BTW, Cain, thank you for getting this thread back on track.

    We're back!

Aren't the move issues supposed to be posted in the thread created for it in the announcements forum? This thread should be locked IMO, but I am not a modderator.
  5. Forgive me if I am wrong, but weren't Hutts resistant to normal weapons fire, etc?
  6. That is a big demo for only having 5 tutorial missions and 1 mini campaign mission. That doubly goes so if that size is zipped. I wonder if anyone has an idea of the campaign mode portion of the demo. Is there enough content in the demo to warrant that size, or is there alot of stuff in the demo that is disabled? <--- if this last part is true, that is not very good because it is unnecessarily inflating an already huge file size. By the way, for you 56k'ers, dispair not. Get a download assistant tool and limit it to one connection. This should allow you to resume where you left off, in case of a lost connection, someone needing to use the phone, etc. Also, it would be nice for someone to break the file up into aprox 50mb archives, like zip, rar, etc. That would help out the 56k'ers. I don't have a domain so I can't do this, but hopefully one of the EAW fan sites will consider this.
  7. Something that would have been cool to add, based on her interactions with the Ewoks, is for Leia to be able to rally a planet's species to the Rebels' side.
  8. Phew, I was afraid on seeing the topic that it was something to do with her and a closet. I haven't heard nothing about Leia anywhere in relation to EAW, so I doubt she will be in. She spent most of ANH in the detention area of the Death Star.
  9. Hacking refers to gaining access illegaly to a system, terminal, etc. Cracking refers to modifying a file that is meant to be kept secure. The proper term is cracking here. Although, I prefer to think of it as modding. However, no amount of modding will add Imperial missions that aren't there. I think any effort put into messing with the files of the demo should be directed toward learning how everything is stored for use in modding, especially since we don't know as of yet whether or not the full release will be any less locked off than the demo.
  10. I just hope that they didn't sacrifice gameplay for lower specs, such as unit limit, map size, etc.
  11. You certainly have a rich sense of humor, Relentless. I can't wait to see what the supposed Imperial reactions will be in these propoganda inspired holosims are.
  12. Meh, I will have just gotten to half of the work week when they release this... Figures though. That is my kinda luck. Probably go home for lunch and start the download though
  13. Well, that will be nice. The rebel players will need all of the help they can get because they will need it when they run into the real Imperial might rather than their silly holovid interpretations of it. And for the Imperial commanders, this gives us an early look at their abilities, and what they assume our weaknesses will be. This should be quite entertaining.
  14. But that argument could be the same for the SD/Tie fighter thing as well.
  15. I don't think it is, since that would suck for the Rebels... take out the Death Star and it regenerates after a bit.
  16. Well, in that case, what would be special about the VSD rather than say an ISD? Accuracy, rate of fire, etc?
  17. Thanks Delphi, but the question is can we turn them off in the Galactic multiplayer as that presents a problem with the Death Star being present but no red squadron to defeat it.
  18. Thanks, that is cool. I wonder what the galactic scenario will include? I doubt we will be able to play on the full 43 planet map.
  19. Well, I was thinking... Imagine a Star Wars mod for Supreme Commander? Wish they had space though. That is the big trump card EAW has, space and ground as well as campaign.
  20. Holy hair balls Batman! Sheesh, I can't believe I didn't think of this one. This would be cool to see as there should be plenty of resources to go off of for the space portion. I loved those games, it is a shame that none of them work on my computer, even Prophecy. Hell, I even played WC Armada. Bad kitties, bad.
  21. Petroglyph's is becaus of their affiliation with LEC. It should slide more toward the good when they are done with EAW.
  22. Oh, cra-P. I really wish you hadn't said that. That would be very very stupid.
  23. We heard you the first time, Fosh.
  24. Well, if you did lose him like that, that would be a very instructive game and you wouldn't likely do that again.
  25. From what we know so far, the Death Star is out of the normal plane so it is unassailable by any units conventionally. Red squadron is a special unit that is the only thing that can attack the Death Star. If Red Squadron is destroyed, they will be able to come back eventually. Ok, assuming I am not wrong so far, this presents some issues: How does the Rebel Alliance engage the Death Star? Will they be trapesing all over the map trying to engage it? Do they have to get lucky and happen to be in a system when the Empire attacks? What keeps the Empire from just retreating when Red Squadron is present? What if the Empire builds nothing but Fighter killers for thier fleets for Death Star protection? This seems like too much of a one-shot kill type thing. If these problems exists, there is either some dynamic that makes the above issues not as critical, or the balance is that Red Squadron can engage the Death Star immediately when they are both in the same space battle and have no chance of losing. Any ideas or information on this situation I haven't covered completely?
