I picked "completely new missions", because I believe that they will not want to include old stuff in the demo. More than likely they will have a few skirmish maps for you to play on and maybe a space and ground map of one planet to simulate a space battle and the ensuing ground assault.

I picked option 3, because as I have said before, the inclusion of some units or the non-inclusion of others will not factor into my decision on getting the game. I am getting this game regardless of whether certain units are in or not.

That's true. However we'll get a glimpse of the game with the demo in December. I believe they should do the unit balancing like the movies. It would make it have that Star Wars feel to it.

I kinda wondered that myself. I mean the SSD would be cool and all, but it would unbalance the game to the point of not being as much fun to play. You could argue that it would take forever and many resources to build one. It wouldn't work like the DS where all you had to do was blow the thermal exhaust port. In a lot of ways the SSD would be the ultimate superweapon because it could dominate whole Rebel fleets with ease. I feel that there would have been almost no way to balance putting the SSD in, so they didn't.

I agree with you. Instead of the broadside they may have used the Carrack Cruiser instead, but as I said I trust Petroglyph to do the game right. Any units that may be "missing" from the game will be modded in.

This game is going to be great and the lack of a few units will not make me be disappointed.

Let's all calm down people. Yes the SSD thing caused almost an uproar, but we need to move on. Let this bring us together, not farther apart. Now as far as the timeline goes, the A-Wing was developed right after Yavin, so it's possible that it was close enough on the tail of Yavin to be included. The SSD (which is going to be modded in) is kind of later after Yavin than A-Wings (not exactly sure on this), plus there is really no need for an SSD. Sure it would be cool, but I trust Petroglyph and any reasons they may have to put certain units in and keeping others out. One unit will not make or break the game for me.

Yeah but unit experience isn't exactly new anymore. It's been used for over a year now in several games. Maybe they don't think it's worth mentioning, but I'm going to say it's not in for now until I know for sure.

There hasn't been too much information on this game in a while. I hope we get more info soon. It's being made by THQ, which is a company whose games I enjoy. Mainly Dawn of War, although I don't have it or its expansion. It looks to be a great RTS.

Hey Ghostly... I'm debating whether or not to join the PFF clan. I don't have tons of time as I am in college and I don't want to have to change my names. If both of these conditions can be met so that there isn't a huge time requirement and I can keep whatever name I use (I will tell you what it is) then sign me up for PFF.

I may join Black Squadron... I am in college and won't have much time for clan-games and such. I don't know if you guys require a tag on our name while playing (assuming yes). I already am in 2 other clans of friends. I don't really know any of the Black Squadron members that well. We may try to form a PFF clan for EaW. So if all those negatives can be negated then I may join up. Nice site by the way. I just saw that BS does not allows members affiliated with other clans. nevermind then.

Yeah I want a game where you control the capital ship and its fighting. I'm not sure how well it would work with other players playing as your fighter/bomber compliment. It would be frustrating to tell your team to take out the other side's bombers and they refuse to listen to you and go dogfight instead or attack the enemy capital ship(s). Maybe that could be the multiplayer mode of the game where you control your capital ship.

I kinda disagree with you on some of these. I think that the Yuuzhan Vong, Ssi Ruk, and black sun should be independent and fight as their own side. Other than that I agree with your groupings.

I believed from the start that they would have B-Wings and Tie-Interceptors, but I bet that a lot of people will keep harping on this until the devs officially say they both are in. I agree with you Makwu. It's obvious that both HAVE to be in the game.

I will probably do that once I have gone through the game till I am bored, and then after I went through most of the full conversion Mods. Probably just get every star wars add on I can find and just put them all together for one giant free for all. Darth Vader, Darth Malak, Nom Anor, Darth Maul, General Grievous vs. Luke Skywalker, Bastila, Anakin Solo, Mace Windu, Wicket (a Star Wars infinities mod) Anyway I will probably end up adding the Leviathan to my normal game, just because it is such a cool looking ship. Aaand for tonight's lightsaber duel.... Anakin Skywalker vs Darth Vader lol. That'd be crazy to watch.

Lol that's funny. I wish I'd have SW: EaW dreams though. Anyways I agree that there should not be the same ships for both sides (same type).

I hope they don't make ships for each side that are comparable to each other. Who cares if the rebels don't have one ship that can take an SSD? It's unrealistic from a Star Wars point of view for them to be able to match up in terms of power with the Imperials. I want the SSD to have no Rebel counterpart.
