  1. Then we'll probably post random things and speculate until the demo comes out. Then we'll all talk about the great demo and post pictures of our games and such and hopefully we'll pass the time until the release date.
  2. I guess it goes with the general Imperial philosophy that bigger is better. Why did they make SSD's when they had Imperator Star Destroyers? I guess the Empire wanted to show off it's might by making it bigger and better than before.
  3. Yup it had quantum armor, which made it indestructable. That's why they got rid of it in one of the black holes in the Maw if I recall correctly.

  5. Yup I like hockey a lot, but the lockout was just pathetic. The owners and players were so greedy and wanted their millions and such. I think the owners had a better case because a lot of players are paid millions and millions and the owners were losing money.
  6. I don't think that heroes should count against the cap. Often in the movies (I'm talking about from ANH onward.) many heroes were present in battles together. It wouldn't be fair in my opinion to count the heroes so heavily, or at all, against any sort of cap.
  7. I'm going to have at least a 5:1 ratio of fighters to capital ships. It all depends on how good the fighters are for what I'm planning to use them for, which I will test in the demo.
  8. Funniest: Battlefront 2 Beta: Playing on the Tantive IV map I was about to go through one of the doors. I commented aloud to myself that knowing my luck Darth Vader would be there waiting for me. I stepped through and saw no one so I start to go. Next I hear the lightsaber hum sound when it's swung and zap I die and Darth Vader steps over my dead body. Really freaky that I said that that would probably happen and it did....
  9. Yeah I've read some pretty weird Star Wars novels. Wasn't Palpatine's son named Triclops or something and because he was in some kind of insane prison, some other guy was passed off as him?
  10. I think he's talking about a 200 limit to be landed for a ground battle not for the whole of the galaxy. You'd have 2 Stormtrooper squads per planet if the limit was 200. I don't think there should be a limit, but it would be funny to see some guy land all his ground forces on one planet and mass all his ships in one fleet and go around hammering one planet at a time.
  11. More than likely, the DS will be the only ship that will have a physical set limit. Other ships of power, like the SSD, will probably have build time and cost restrictions that will make it not worth the time and effort to mass a bunch of them. Also it could be made costlier if the question about having ships built in the shipyards where they can be damaged and destroyed before completion comes back as true, because you will have to risk having the Rebels perform a hit and run on shipyards to destroy the SSD('s) in production.
  12. NP I sort of jumped on you and I apologize for that if you felt like I was attacking you (not literally of course ). If you want a strategy game, you probably wouldn't care for it, but if you like LOTR, you probably would. I like LOTR as previously stated, so I happen to enjoy playing it, but it is repetitive.
  13. What kind of internet connection do you have? DSL or Cable or Dial-up?

  16. It comes out on the 7th. Too bad college will be back in full swing by then. I hope that I get enough time to actually get some decent skirmishes and campaigns going.
  17. That also has my interest piqued too Teradyn. I think they may assess fleet strength by number of weapons is x strength, shields and hull damage are y strength, and fighters/bombers is z strength and they add them or something. Ok maybe not exactly like that, but maybe similar.
  18. That sucks that there are no additional shield hardpoints. I was thinking of making a ship and using all the hardpoints to put redundant shield generators, just for fun. I wonder if they will have an auxillary bridge control for the ships or if you can't command it anymore after the bridge gets blown away.
  19. Um I think there is a targetable component on the enemy ship that you can blow up to get the shields down, but I'm not totally sure.
  20. Yeah other than the AI glitch Imperial Assault is an awesome mod.
  21. I'm actually debating on B&W 2, but since I haven't played B&W the original and there is no demo (that I can find), I am leery about getting it.
  22. It's good to know we'll have modders to add the ships that we want, but alucard is your mod going to drastically change the game or is it just going to be units modded into the game?
  23. They may also be tweaking it, so they can't say anything because they don't know for sure themselves.
  24. Lol I'm not saying that they should be shield domes. I just said that Lucasarts will probably keep them as shield domes just to maintain consistency with the several last games they have released. I personally want them to be sensor domes.
  25. How about if you've never played a game, you can't say you dislike it? Also BFME, while not an awesome innovative RTS, is really fun to play, although it helps if you like LOTR.
