  1. Make a real-time version of Masters of Orion or something. Have a race that is just gettting into deep space faring (humans make an obvious choice) and have it so they try to take on the galaxy militarly or diplomaticly. Though coming up with a good diplomatic system for a mod would be difficult. Also see if you can't create custom ship class or something in game.
  2. Hmmmm... If the mod did come out I think I'd be the Electronic Arts faction, the borg. You know, the whole "resistance is futile" thing. That and they go around in big rubix cubes, how cool is that!
  3. Most likely, even If its only to keep the Star Trek and Star War fan rivalry going. *In best geeky/snarky voice* "Our mod has is far supirior to the core game!!!" *Then sprouts some Klingon jibberish*
  4. AKA: Microsoft; Mainstream graphic *censor*s Sony; RPGers and Japanese style gamers Nintendo; Indie and nostalgia gamers (lets not forget the probable ability to download a lot of old NES and SNES games onto the revolution, or did they kill that idea?)
  5. Who wants to bet they'll use weapons from CS:S and HL2. RCP-90 = P90, Cougar revolver = Magnum, M4 = AR-22, etc.
  6. New all time best: Game: CS;Source Map: FY-Pool Party Feat: Killing all 18 players on the other team single handedly with a auto-shotty, not once, not twice, but three rounds in a row. 4th round one of my guys awped two of the other team's players before I got to them. *edit: these were peolpe, not bots.
  7. Erg... I need an online payment system of some sort... I usually only deal in cash and thats seems to be passe anymore.
  8. It looked to be a regular remote control to me but... I'll keep faith in the Big N, after all the original NES controller was considered an oddity when it came out.
  9. Bah!!! I've been following this game since it was announced at the last GDC!!! The concept sounds intresting, and since it is a Will Wright game there is a good chance it can pull off what it says it will. I just want to go around it the flying saucer and drop my enemies onto planets without atmospheres, though blowing up planets sounds just as fun.

Chicken korma... Have to gogle search that. I'm sure I know what it is but I don't re-call the name off of the top of my head.
  11. Ahhhh... A rolling sea of flames, as far as the eye can see. Beautiful... Bah, to many forums like that on the net it seems. This place is good to have, very calm.

Can't eat the stuff, gives me a headache for some reason. I like it though (buffalo wings being my favorite varient), and eat it anyways... Just have to remember where I put the advil.
  13. Well, I guess I may as well do this... Hi, I'm Steven from Reed City, Michigan USA. I'm currently attending at Ferris State University in Big Rapids for a Computer Science major. I'm planing on being shoved into a cold dark room and told to fix some god forsaken computers for $7.75 an hour after I graduate... Been playing video games since age 3 with my NES (still working) and Super Mario Bros. being my first game. I got into computer gaming after my neighbors showed Command and Conquer: Red Alert when it first came out. I was amazed with how great the graphics looked... Since then I've been more a computer gamer than console, and love modding (which you can't really do on console games) though I really suck at it. I ran into Empires at War after reading a gamespot or gamespy article and I've high hopes for it. Spring 2006 is to far away...
  14. I'm in my sophmore year at college in the US (being a US citizen, born and raised. Though I've lived in 6 different states.) All my fun classes are starting this year as I'm finding out. Databases are the devil, I can't fully describe Accounting 202 without getting in trouble with the admins, and I'm wanting to kill my internet design Professor... But my Macro-econmics teacher is hilarious and my Public speaking teacher is insane. We're currently helping her plot to kill he husband she is divorcing if thats any indication, funny thing is that we're still learning the course. I'm going for a computer science major, but those last year programming course are looking mighty evil. But I'm hoping by then to have a better knowledge of computers and won't have a lot of trouble.
  15. What class do you use most??? If I had to pick one (again), I'd go for the Medic rifle. Also the Spec Op. gun is a strong choice given it's improvements and the classes versitility. But don't get me wrong, I love my PKM!!! So very evil in those tight streets at Strike on Kirkland. As I said I got the PKM for the Support class, very evil gun. Go prone and that thing eats infantry alive. Extreme range snipers and tanks are it's foil though. The shotgun fpr the Anit-tank is a slight improvement over the SMG. Good for up close stuff, but I swear the SMG has better range. I use the AT missile for everything anyways, infantry included. The Jackhammer is a huge improvement over the standard engineer shotty. G3 is a very good assault rifle, it adds a good degree of added fire power and is slightly more accurate than the AKs used by MEC and China. But some prefer the slightly better accuracy the USMC assault rifle provides, though the accuracy is due to the controled burst fire vs. the normal full auto people enjoy doing. I can't comment on the sniper rifle, because I simply can't hit anything with the sniper rifles. But the sniper rifle is a .50 cal., so that leads one to believe it is very powerful. The Medic's rifle (SA-88?) is far better than any of the standard medic rifles, though it suffers the same probelm as the G3 does against the USMC counterpart. The M-16 burst has people thinking it is more accurate than the alternate medic rifle, but its not. The Spec. Ops. guns is very nice. It is extremely accurate at mid-long ranges and is fairly powerful. I prefer the sights on the M4 carbine, but the alternate's sights aren't bad. Look for Identitystolen for a goodtime!!! I'm trying to get my medic and engineering badge at the moment. I'm a decent heli pilot. I can fly like the devil and evade about anything, but I have lots of trouble hovering. Despite this, I prefer the gunners position and prefer the troop transports to the attack helis. I'm also good with armor, be it a main battle tank or a LAV. I pride myself on be able to knock down heli's with the main cannon on the battle tanks. I mainly play as Spec ops or Anti-tank. I prefer Spec ops on city maps and AT on large maps. I've gotten good with the AT missle and have knocked down 3 helis and lots-o-ground vehicles with it. But as I said, I'm trying to get my engineer and medic badge, so lately I play as those. Don't ask me to fly a jet, I can't do it. I've also got a microphone so I can talk to people while playing. Its a real life saver when flying the heli since it doesn't hinder your flying and you can communicate a lot more things quicker.
  16. Eek, sorry... I thought I lost my connection in the t-storm that went by. Post underneth this my intended one...
  17. B-wings I can see being in there as a upgrade to Y-wings, and the interceptors to the standard TIE fighter. But for the life of me, I cannot see the point of having a SSD in game. Its most effective role was as a command vessel. Really, what good could it do? You the commander are omniscient and don't need all the commanders on board to say whats going on, you already know!!! You don't need the various wing commanders and such, you deal directly with each unit/squadron individually. All it would be is a big fat target for any screwball reb in a A-wing and a waste of precious resources that could be used more effectively elsewhere.
  18. My only concern is I'll go mad with impaticence before it gets out... Seriously though, many "disappointments" can be rectified through a good mod. I'm sure EaW will be mod-able enough, the problem will lie within the people. You get a lot of big talkers and it never amounts to anything no matter how mod-able the game is. This is because they figure out how difficult it is to actually put something out. This is definitly a problem when your talking about adding new content like races, ships, and such. Remember also these things take time. Larger and more complexe the mod, longer it takes and that dis-courages a lot of people, myself included. I sunk 3 years into a Neverwinter Nights mod that never saw the light of day (though the other two conspirators may still be working on it. Doubt it though, they were cursing it as much as I.) On that note: don't expect anything worth while untill roughly 2 months after the release of the core game (at the very earliest) and even then the mod will most likely be an early beta and not anything very complexe. Something like a new ship class maybe. Takes time to learn the new system and then actually make something. Another situation that may crop up is a database for these mods and getting fan awarness to these databases. Getting everything together in one spot is very helpful to the causual gamer who just wants to extend the life of the game a bit by adding something different. You don't want to dig through 2,500 Google entries to find a decent mod!!! No, you want something that sets everything in front of you like a buffet table, allowing you to choose what you want with ease. I doubt we'll get the amount a game like UT2k4 gets, but gathering all the mods together in one place will take up tons of room. Un-fortantly there is no magic server fairy that makes these sites suddenly appear. No, someone will have to buy server space and get a website up to show off the mods in all their glory. Again that requires as much dedication as someone trying to make a mod to go on that site. Fan awarness may be another problem. If people who play the game don't realize a potentally good mod is out there, I ask of you, whats the point of making it? Even on a forum such as this, how any people who actually buy the game come across this site? Offical support is a really nice thing to have. Like on the offical EaW homepage have a link to some fan sites that have a open database of mods to download and upload. If the EaW game has an auto-updater so these people don't have to go to the site, have a newsletter thing that points out these fansites pop-up. If sites don't get enough traffic, they tend to dry up and dis-appear leaving us with no organized source from which to get mods from. But again, this also comes around to the fact people are going have to sink in the time and effort to make decent mods and communicate with eachother to get a community going and fill up these sites, to show the powers-that-be we care enough about this game to get some offical support, which in turn may help us draw attention to our mods. This may make someone say "Hey!!! I can do better than that!!!" and in turn add to modding community. Then again, maybe not, but we can't do it without trying. So kiddies, brush up on your coding skillz, learn 3D Rendering, dig up some rendering and texturing programs, and start conspiring with some like minded folks if you want this game to be all you want it to. [/rant] I've no idea if that made sense... Its 10pm EST (so I'm tired) and I just got off of Evilavatar (so I'm ranty). Hope I made a point.
  19. Cowboy Beebop was good. Very episodic (probably not a word), but that isn't really a bad thing. the first 10 or so episodes of GTO (Great teacher Onizuka) were good and a 1 or 2 others after that. I liked the manga better. I like the setting of Outlaw Star but the writting (or maybe the translation) left something to be desired to me. Ghost in the Shell and the few episodes of GitS:SAC I saw I liked, but I liked the manga a lot better. I know I'm gonna get sacked for this, but I never really liked any of the Gundams. 8th MS team was ok, but it isn't someting I could conciously watch. Maybe because I'm more of the Mechwarrior/battletech type mecha fan, I dunno. Also I never even liked any of the Dragon Balls... Very "blah" to me. Wolfs Rain was ok. SPOILER ALERT!!! I thought it was funny that basiclly everyone dies in the end. I was like, "Wow, thats rare." Inyuasia I hate, probably because of all the stupid crazed fans. YuYu Hakusha (or however you spell it) was ok, nothing special. Last Exile was good untill my favorite character died, then I didn't care for it. And I was going to watch Trigun and Evangilon (So I can't spell, sue me..) but some friends of mine warned me not to... Evidently didn't want to hear me complain about them. And sooner or later I'm going to get my grubby hands on a few episodes of Big-O. It looks somewhat intresting. I remember watching the Robotech/Macross thing when I was younger, but I may watch those again to refresh my memory. I've got a feeling they're going to be like the Gundam series.
  20. WTF?!?! How the heck did you do that? You were going to a server and deleted your CD key, I don't get how that happened.
  21. I'm in college and only have one piece of homework to do... Which is due at mid-night via e-mail... Probably should get back on that. Databases are the DEVIL!!!
  22. Ah yes... The teamwork.... My first zombie game saw little of that. The reason I survived that game is the little that was to be seen was me and two others went back-to-back-to-back with auto snipers, and on occasion .45 pistols when we got caught stuffing in a new clips or when one other and myself ran out of rifle ammo, in the tunnel in Dust. Sort of a last stand thing, but we held out 'till the end of the round. The other 4 guys got massicared in the open.
  23. All of us??? I can recall some pretty viscous threads on the LucasArts forum saying otherwise. Edot: By that I meant the point of X-wings easily eating TIES
  24. I've a new #1 dumb one: Playing on a server in Battlefield 2 as the USMC commander and was bunkered down in a well protected position at the main base. An admin comes on and bans me for not moving and fighting. Mind you I was providing UAV, artillery, supplies, and marking enemy posistions when called for (once, for a UAV) and even when they weren't. I only team killed one guy who was dumb enough to run into an area with the artillery marker on it and who ignored my repeated warnings to get the heck out of there.
  25. Did you kill eachother? Screen is hard to see... Rare event, but I've seen it happen. I tried the zombie server, got nothing. Then a guy next to me pointed out other servers with zombies and I must say I prefer zombies over regular CS, its frickin' insane.
