  1. Speaking of cats... I caught mine plotting my demise.. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/akira9949/IMG_0227.jpg
  2. Yea, I played galaxies for a while... I started playing when the game first came out and the bugs were still substantial.. I had a rodian bounty hunter which was doing quite freakin well actually... I was building him up to be really strong and had done several quests to get the mandalorian armor... I bought a house and had set it up in the very outskirts on Tatooine... and wouldnt you know it.. a bug hit.. my house (and ALL my possesions in it) were gone... actually.. as a matter of fact, a whole mountain range popped up where my house was!.. and not a single GM would help me... so.. I quit... and havent looked back... those were the last days of my MMORPG experience...
  3. I'm not sure who all here is a conspiracy theorist, or enthusiast.. but I personally have heard some of the "evidence" behind this theory and even seen a show on it on the History Channel (i think.. could've been Discovery).. and I find it quite plausible.. i mean.. FDR had to get the public behind him, he needed the support of the voters and congress. And in reality the only way to do that was to be attacked, unprovoked. Now, i dont think he thought it would be THAT BIG of an attack.. or perhaps that there wouldn't have been as much loss of life as there was.. but i wouldnt put it past anyone to open themselves to an attack they knew was coming if they knew that it would help the country out of its current predicament.. but maybe thats just me..
  4. As sad as it is to say Rob... you gotta remember.. Comics are basically dead... well.. not dead.. but they are definately critically wounded... Tofu is only.. what?.. 17? now?.. he was born when comics were at their height yes, but they quickly fell from the height and by the time he was old enough to read and enjoy them they were just the hobby of die hard fans.. if even that.. same thing with baseball cards.. i doubt Tofu is old enough to even have collected baseball cards... probably more like Pokemon and YuGiOh or whatever.. no knock to you Tofu.. I'm just supposing here.. and I would be willing to bet if its not true for you, its definately true for your classmates..
  5. Yeah, I know. WoW is pretty much his life. That's about all he does. That was me.. with EQ.. i.e. EverQuest... that game sucked so much out of my life it was crazy.. i would play for close to 18 hours at a time... yea.. my weekends were filled with sitting at my computer not going anywhere or talking to anyone that wasnt virtual... i used to know people who were worse too.. WoW is just an extension of that.. its just a "wanna be"... but i can understand how some people find that more interesting than life.. hell.. i used to... but there is hope.. that eventually they will wake up.. and perhaps the whole genre of MMORPG will fade... all my real life friends i still had started making fun of me and it somehow snapped me out of it...
  6. I am so quoting various parts of that movie for the rest of my life... especially when my siginificant other suggests a back scratch! (i cant give away the punchline cuz its so funny that i dont want to ruin the hilarity)..
  7. personally.... i think that we're all kinda screwed for the next 50 to 100 years or so... the energy crisis is just getting worse and there is no real "clean" solution yet... i mean.. i can just see what will happen when we start with fusion... some containment field will fail.. and whamo! we've got an out of control sun located in the middle of the Mohavi Desert.. (or wherever they would try to "safely" test it).. and the heat given off by said artificial sun will start melting anything within a 1000 mile radius!! (okay okay.. so I'm just being a doom sayer.. and being all pesimist and shtuff.. but you know that is going to be the fear someday...) in reality i dont believe in being scared of new things... technologically speaking.. but there are going to be opponents of fusion for that reason im sure... or something like that.....
  8. Man... I wish I could've done that in college.. for me it was more like sleep for breakfast (since you were up til 5am doing some project ) get up at lunch, eat a power bar and run to class. and for dinner.. nice helping of homework.. heh.. man... college sucked!.. at least for me.. ... man... i had almost forgot..
  9. I finally saw Superbad in theaters on Saturday... that movie is HILARIOUS!.. I couldnt help but laugh myself to tears at certain points of the movie... I recommend it to all... as long as you can stand vulgar comedy...
  10. And there are still people who believe all these politicians and managers who want to tell us that nuclear-power is a clean-energy! Well, technically it is clean.. if you ignore the nuclear waste.. heh.. same thing goes with Hydrogen Power.. its only clean if you ignore the waste... (what most people havent been told or know is that the membranes used in a PEM fuel cell collect waste which is actually quite toxic, and the membranes have to be replaced periodically.... ) and speaking of scrubs.. this one just rocks.. solely due to the background music
  11. I once fell into the hole of paying monthly to play a stupid game.......... damn everquest... anyways.. I think the general idea of a game being overrated is easily justified through the public reception and reaction of such game... i mean.. damn... Halo was to be just some game released by Microsoft (and Bungie) to help shuttle the release of the XBox and now its become some EPIC creature of which fans are "disappointed" because "there are many loose ends to tie up" in the third installment... its a game.. when has anyone said "man I hope Warcraft 3 really clears up some things.. there are too many loose ends".. plus a movie is being created about this game and Red vs. Blue is still going on! (it was only supposed to be 2 seasons!..) i think this is all evidence that Halo is too overrated... but thats me...
  12. I think its pure genius!.. hehehehe.. wish i wouldve thought of it.
  13. LOL That is HILARIOUS!.. Quite close to a true depiction too!... hahahaha.. just kidding
  14. @Tex: HOW'D YOU GET THAT?! you been spyin' on me?! @K: yea.. i was adamant about sports cars being manual too... but.. the reality sunk in when i started getting serious about owning one and saw how people treat the cars in front of them... jeez.. just last night I was at a red light on a steep hill waiting for the light to turn green and a guy came up behind me and (no joke) stopped less than two feet from my rear bumper... I was really really happy I didnt have a manual then.. cuz... who knows if i wouldve slipped back into him or not...
  15. I remember one of my favorite toys being my dad's abacus.. mainly because I was too young at the time to realize it wasn't a toy.. hehe.. but as I grew up i learned to use it and found it to be quite cool... i guess that was kinda the warning sign that i had... "The Knack" hehehe.. as time passed i started taking apart and rebuilding things more and more..
  16. glad to hear you had a good time Verdex sorry to hear about the poor conditions in Utah though.. that definately were some nasty pictures... So did you ever go to the Alamo or Natural Bridge Caverns?.. I heard it wasnt all that hot in Texas this summer either.. so the weather was probably favorable for outdoor stuff i take?
  17. Tex probably remembers discovering fire... I remember a toy that would talk and then youd have to spell what it said... im not saying what its called or anything.. nor how old i was when i had it... ooo and a toy that had pegs that lit up
  18. Well, yes I got the Roadster, I had lots of fun with it over the weekend.. but now its not the perfect weather for it so the top is up for awhile.. but unfortunately the only available model they had was an automatic.. and when I really started to think about it.. having a manual transmission around here is a pretty bad idea being how every road is "hilly" and every driver loves to get right on your bumper at a red light... so.. I figured it would save me some grief just to get an automatic transmission... and even then.. it has that auto/manual shifter.. which is pretty fun... even though now its a five speed auto instead of a 6 speed manual... but.. its still pretty awesome with the AT.. its a really smooth and quiet ride, which if you've ever been in a convertible you know that it can get pretty loud in there at top speeds... but.. yea.. its sweet... oh and I would just like to add... that i know I already said this was no poke to anyone.. but once again wish to reiterate that... the car I was just driving before this was a dodge neon with the paint falling off.. no picture of that though..
  19. Those are absolutely spectacular J! hehehe.. That banana one is freakin hilarious.. I can just see Luke trying to fight with that..
  20. WHEW!! I found this... http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/akira9949/gah-whew.jpg original article And this is from the houston chronicle... http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/akira9949/untitled-1.jpg but I guess there isnt an article?.. anyways... heres the link for pictures.. pics So one can hope that our original concept (of taking it up and bringing it back down) is in fact the intended plan...
  21. I'm not doing this to poke at anyone, but I got a new car on Saturday! this isnt the actual car, pictures will come after it gets detailed. But here is a similar one... http://images.autobytel.com/view/aic/NISSAN/350ZROADSTER/cvt/usa_2007_nissan_350zroadster_cvt_2_x_exfrdrvr75_x.jpg
  22. Thats awesome BS
  23. This sucks for Australia... at least they only spent 3,500 bucks on it... but they still lost out on a quite nice investment.. this thing just looks eerie
  24. the controversy is all stemmed around the fact that people were upset that a character they came to love was a "murderer" who killed an innocent alien in a random encounter in a bar.... what people FAILED to realize was that the "innocent" alien was a bounty hunter (not necessarily a good one apparently) who was trying to claim the price on our beloved character's head dead or alive and in realizing that, Han Solo (in a mode of self preservation) shot the sleezy green thing before he could think to do it first!... why people have a problem with that.. i dont know.. but it was never a doubt in my mind, seeing the original film that Solo shot Greedo to live to fight another day... not to murder him... but.. maybe i was just smarter than the average bear?.. i dont know..
  25. its even in the article you originally posted.. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/akira9949/gah.jpg until i read this i thought it was just up and down with it too... which i thought was pointless... but however NASA wants to get cash and GL wants to spend his was not my concern..... until i read the jettison part...
