  1. Yes, I'm curious about this as well. The only (perhaps mis-informed observation) I have of weapon recharge is with powerful capital ships capability to similantious blast with turbo lasers and ion canons... And informed response, someone?

Emm.. it's curious your PC crashed... mine did the same just into tactical battle involving my glorious third fleet of about 20 Star Destroyers, 15 Strike Cuisers, the SSDs Allegiance and Stormbringer, and god knows how many lancers, Corellian gunboats, and troop transports used for the system blockade... including no small amount of 'captured' rebel capital ships I like to have drifting around the core. Anyway my crash was critical, and i've lost over a year's worth of data. Such is life as Ned Kelly remarked as he was hung. If you want a challenge, set every system in the galaxy to of high inportance and colonized; forget you know where the rebel vermin are for a year or so, give yourself and them six or so ship yards; and set all settings to half...WOONESS... ..remembering to replace the crap rebel bulk cruiser with a Mon Cal MC80; and a battle royal you shall have! Err.. but maybe this why my PC crashed and killed over a years worth of stuff..
  3. Deeply disturbing.. The magic of Star Wars surely has been reinfoced by the complete lack of TV spin-offs so far... I reckon... we wait..a decade...for more of our beloved universe... mumble and grumble about the fresh dose we're given.. but hell... secretly love what we're given... I do. But a cartoon spin off? Oldage Samurai retarded penguin loosers Star Wars aint! I'll kill my rant now because I haven't seen the cartoon, don't wont to, can't get the link to Treg's link to work in any case because my PC has come back from the the repair yard more shagged than it was, and.. err... well that's enough to keep me grumpy for a while...err.. I think i'll play a level or two of Doom on Playstation to work off some aggression..
  4. Honestly dudes The lower the hyperdrive rating the better, as Evaders Says. Good edited hyperdrive settings are about 60 for ships, 50 for the best, and 45 for exceptional ships such as the Assualt Transport... any lower than this the game breaches the silly; in my opinion, though; 45 seems to be the limit of of the game's capability. Go any lower and you'll mash the AI's stupid sense of intelligence... ..err..progra....
  5. All this is largely pointless dude! You should really be protecting most of your systems with fighter cover, with the presance of bombers. Bombers make piece meal out of capital ships, period. If one of your systems is attacked by an enemy fleet and you've got capital ships that you need to get clear (and escape all of that popularity dip lark) simply target all your fighter squadrons on the gravity well ship and then run... You'll find also, the AI won't bother to much with such protected systems. Ever figured all those enemy recon mission detections are up to?
  6. Errr... largely untested advice here, but up the detection ratings of fighter squadrons a little as well...perhaps even Capital ships...but be careful; most missions will fail with the presance of capital ships in a system anyway, set it to high and even Jedi's will end up in a box.
  7. ...yesss yesss...my friend! But it's simply not possible in an unedited game...
  8. ROGER THAT! WOOOONESSS MAXIMUS INDEEDINESS!!! For we are not worthy... Seriously impressed...
  9. Jahled shudders... What a dark and sinister picture, brother...
  10. Your contributions to the site and all our ongoing efforts with the game, Mask, are helping to keep the magic alive. I pat you on the back from afar...
  11. Emm... ok, what have we got left to record Mask?

One very simple solution to the AI's careless handling of it's ships would be to lower the hyperdrive rating of all fighters and capital ships to about 10. If anyone has drunk enough expresso and fancies testing this theory, feel free to report the results of one hell of a manic game...
  13. Yes...emm.. the TIE CHISS.. emm.. ...mutter... ..a card..emm.. we must...images?
  14. No, SOCL; progame game data the likes of which we're after to catapult our beloved game into true mega-wooness, has nothing to do with what double A didn't stumble across. For double A was perhaps flying. Flapping into the full force of realization of the Imperial might he was up against. My guess is that any common sense left in his brain simply said 'Adios, you're on your own on this one;' and abrubtly left to make a pot of tea, while the rest of it's ID was awed by the presance of the Imperial Fleet. It's a theory..
  15. Wow! Thankiness lots guys! Hopefully my PC is going to be fixed tomorrow, and I can play this game once again, without all this inspection crap! Excellant. You've just reminded me why I come here.
  16. The Mic I used for what Mask wanted cost a fiver from my local store. All I had to do was plug it into the back into my PC! Mask, after many evenings of Fosters-fuelled scripts speaking into my mic, is now in possession of a classic 'Imperial-Officer,' announcing.... well hell, that's for the TC!
  17. Thankiness! I think I tried this already, but WOO for the link all the same. I just need a shortcut to bypass this meaningless gibberish; ie: a nifty download!
  18. Err.. well for starters the regiment detection rating plays a huge part. If you want to play around with this theory I suggest starting a game with all of your regiment detection ratings at about 30 or 40; and you will quickly learn the importance of the Sullust Regimet in the original settings; and the power of Regiments with high detection ratings in anything else. Defense and bombardment appear to have nothing to do with missions going on around them. Defense counters system assualts against the planet they're on, and bombarment against the Capital ships above them 'unleashing hell.' BTW; If you want a regiment completely imume to bombardment, set it's bombardment defense to 10. The AI simply isn'nt programed to bother. Detection rating is seriously important!
  19. It's bloody easy if your using Photoshop, Kaja dude! Simply resize your main image to 200 x 100, and save as ready for the web! Bon! As my girlfriend keeps saying to me. All that and Evaders will have something to upload!

    Gladiator

Gladiator is one of the great films of this century; entirely in the style of the great 'Sword and Sandle' epics of the 50s & 60s. Our hero Russel Crow puts in a perormance he is unlikely to achieve again unless given a franchice such as James Bond (which ain't so unlikely; he just has to keep his cool at British award ceremonies!) He played his part at 110%, perfectly typed cast from the unknown, pulling the charisma starring role in the footsteps of such movies as Ben Hur and I would even say almost getting close to Richard Burton. Our Australian dude was magnificant! Realism? It's never gone down well with Hollywood, as most Europeans will know with the recent trash of Holywood crap, especially concerning that film I boycotted concerning the Enigma code; and not least with Gladiator. The characters in the movie (apart from our hero) were certainly real; there's an account right near the Strand in London I drop to with a huge marble bust of the Emperor Lucious, or what ever you call him; but the story in the movie is far from the truth... Rome never returned to it's status as a republic after the rise of Ceaser's dynesty. But we don't care about that! That opening battle sequece will go down as one of the best, adrenaline charges, of movie history. It was shot in England in a town called Farnham, just out side of London; where my mum was born and raised. There's a castle there, and apparently, the film production company paid masses amounts of money in the the 'clear up' after the shoot... in which most of the extras were British Soldiers from the Home of the British Army, Aldershot, the next town down the road. There's a famous castle in Farnham that overlooks where they shot the opening battle sequence. I used to go there as a child with my mum and granny.
  21. Emm... My bloody experiance of XWA is not being able to progress past the 'containor inspection mission.' I ask you, what more boring mission could you include in a game. The last time I attempted it, I got so frustrated I turned my guns on that 'sister' you have in the game, just to hear her panic and yell lots about taking lots of damage... If anyone has got a saved game file of just after this bloody mission, I will promise to be their best friend for at least a fortnight. jedijahled@hotmail.com ..not that my PC works at the moment!
  22. Why things have been quiet around here lately... Stupid feline has discovered how to open my fridge...
  23. Chaps. My PC just crashed. When I restarted it it said my user profile had become corrupted and logged me on as a guest. Everything is gone, except for the first bloody thing I put on it in 1999, which was Star Wars Supremecy, and the other start-up stuff. I can access the internet with my old settings, which seems to be a little wierd, but not my email account. I am deeply gutted, and feel as if my soul as been wrenched apart. Nothing like this has happened since I got my PC; up untill now it has ticked along reliably, refusing only to play certain games down to it's hardware's age. I've even lost access to my RebEd files, and the huge photoshoping projects ongoing for the TC! I assume I can get all my data recovered, but nothing like this has struck me before.
  24. Indeedy Maskiness... when I post gibberish images it appears in blue lettering by default... indicating something inane is to be clicked upon... Posting direct images does cause tremendous strain on the site, not least the downlaod speeds for all of us here, but the places you're hosting the image from/hyjacking the image from... so a hyperlink is better...
  25. He rarely does look like he has completely lost the plot! Nice one La_Forge!
