  1. I understand that but the Zone made it easier in the sense that it lists games. If you wanted to play online through ip, then you first have to agree with each other when to play, right? That`s the problem with IP games. You set it up and people don`t show up. It has happened to me sevaral times in the last few weeks with folks on this forum. The only time it worked well with me was with my brother... By the way, it was great (I kicked his ass). I would encourage people to try multiplayer if they haven`t yet. Most people are smarter than the AI (thank God), so the game is totally different.

  3. Sure you can. You're modem is probably connected serially. It does now, they changed it back. A few weeks ago it was swrebellion.com That doesn't really explain anything, does it? I've got a modem connection as well but it's connected through usb, which isn't fine. < What I mean Scathane, is that a 56.6KB link is fine to play the game, there should be little if any lag. If your modem doesn`t work, get a new modem...
  4. Don`t need the zone, just an IP game.

    Rebed

That's too easy, glandry. How do you know? Moreover, the idea that there just might be a 0.27 version out there is just too alluring to let go... It`s a rumour. Revolution has been gone from the scene for a couple of years now. If no one on this forum has a copy, it doesn`t exist as far as I`m concerned...

    Rebed

    RebEd 0.27=rumour=move on
  7. SOCL, I`ve only played online a couple of times, but a modem connection is fine. You can save games, and you probably want to stay on fast speed for the duration. Still, it`s hard to finish a game in one evening.

    Traitors

The major chars cannot be traitors unless you make changes in RebEd. Any force char can sense a traitor. Someone who sensed a traitor can later turn traitor.
  9. I Canada crackers are thin little biscuits that we eat with soup.< Wormie, are you a Bruce Cockburn fan by any chance?
  10. Good one Wormie, I had heard a few stories about the census data on CBC, but nothing about Jedi! I would say that rather than Dagobath, we are more like Hoth...
  11. Very interested in crushing human opponents. Email me at g_landryNOSPAM@videotron.ca I can generally play evenings, eastern time.
  12. I emailed them to him a few weeks ago. Evaders, will you get to load these? Guy
  13. Jabba the Hutton, I have not found a way to do this. The best you can do is load down Coruscant with troops/fighters/facilities. I have tried setting the research to 0 for all cap ships, but as far as I can tell, I never get any of the advanced ships at the start of the game...
  14. Jahled, this is a good idea. I've always felt that the battles on the planet surface were lame (i.e., there are none). But to be honest, I almost always (99% of the time) just bomb the crap out of them from space, then land my troops. If there are shields, I'll sabotage. If I can't sabotage, I'll build a fleet so big that I'll, guess what.... Bomb the crap out them. Guy
  15. Jahled, here`s a trick I use to help on this point. Set the importance of all sectors to `High` in Rebed (except the one with Yavin). This will create much greater yields of energy and raw materials. This translates to a ton of maintenance points for both sides. The rim sectors will have comparable resources to the ones in the core. For an additional challenge, you can also state that all sectors are populated. Both sides will start with a ton more resources. Finally, you can at least edit the resources for two systems when you start the game; Coruscant and the Rebel HQ. If you give them each a ton of mines, refineries, or manufacturing facilities, you`ll at least start with two very powerful systems. I`ve mentioned this several times in the forums, but I`ve not gotten any feedback. Try it and let me know what you think. Also, when you bombard, if you just bombard military facilities you don`t do too much damage to the planet`s production capability. General bombardment does a LOT of damage.
  16. Fair nuf g_landryNOSPAM@videotron.ca Would be nice to get a ladder going...
  17. I understand that. But tell me: does this happen so very often that you go through the trouble of putting decoys on the mission??? Scath, you asked for opinions but you seem to have a hard time believing what I said... Yes, I do use decoys when ever I have them available.
  18. In my game last night Hans got caught by Jabba. First time in a while this has happened. The weird thing is that Luke, Leia and the furball where srpead out all over the galaxy. They rescued Han and they all ended up together on the fleet Leia was on. This whole sequence of events took place in less than a day. By the time C3P0 stated "Oh my, captain Solo...." the whole thing was done.

    Hypothesizing

Good question, not sure what the answer would be but, I think if the char is still on the planet it should work. Usually, when a mission fails, the message states that the target was not at the location...
  20. It's possible that your opponent may be trying to abduct your char. They might be doing sabotage missions, etc... Heck, I've had chars injured/killed/abducted doing research missions or diplomatic missions.
  21. I use RebEd to make my opponents ships/fighters/troops cost about half in terms of maintenance points and refined materials.
  22. Hey Evaders, I`ve got them ready. Let me know where I can email them. Guy
  23. Hehehe, I will try this again with my head screwed on straight. Same general rules apply, I would use seperate missions with commandos or guerillas as decoys. Use chars with high leadership. If you're the Empire, you might want Palpy sitting on Coruscant. A better approach that doesn't tie up your chars is to dump twice as many troops as required, sometimes as many as 24 garrisons, on the planet. Things cool down eventually. Again if you're the Empire, you might want to float a Death Star around the planet. Nothing keeps the plebes in line like the threat of imminent destruction...
  24. There are a numbers of guides/faqs on the web, that are more usefull than the users manual. Evaders, if I gather them together, would you host them on this site? Guy
  25. Oops! My mistake! Subdue uprisings are no problem. My folks get killed/injured a lot on incite uprigings missions...
