  1. That's another theory, but we would have seen him during Mask's 1500 posts celebration there... I rather think he's from Nal Hutta...
  2. So SOCL will you again become a Padadweeb and learn to use the Dork Side to fulfill you goals as the Grand Imperator of BEAK®
  3. In my opinion commercials from around the world suck... With some very...very few exceptions, there are even worse commercials...
  4. Blue Chicks are great!!!! Being the official HI holographer is a job I wouldn't change for nothing, just being around those nice blue/green/whatever color girls is the best. SOCL, what do you have against those nice blue chicks? As for the "socialized" DSL... Well, telecommunications are under the monopolistic rule of the Costa Rican Institute for Electricity (and Telecommunications). Even if it sounds a bit socialistic, and the service is a bit crappy it has its advantages. The prices are very low compared to telecomunications in the rest of Latinamerica, not to mention US and Europe.
  5. This is kind of Deja Vu... I remember already having agreed that SOCL's copy of the game certainly hated him. Twenty Teams vs an unprotected GenCore??? Even Mon Mothma is capable of completing that mission...
  6. I think Imperator's no jokes comment is about his age...
  7. WOOOOO YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats, SOCL!!!! About your rank, I voted Grand Imperator.
  8. Better not try to figure out all the weird-sounding chemicals in the back of lotions, shampoos, etc.... Much less try to properly pronounce one... They are the kind of stuff they used to make ads here in Costa Rica. There was one of a detergent, where a guy from an university would appear talking about the wonderful properties of the tetracetatoetilendiamino and how clean your clothes would be after using the product...
  9. What?! What's that supposed to mean?! This, I think...:
  10. If I recall correctly you lived in Puerto Rico the first five (?) years of your life, although you are a spanishspeaker, you have been more in contact with the english language. Cortazar, is among the hardest spanish-writing author (if not the hardest). His style can be very confusing, he changes the narrator's point of view several times within one sentence, he plays with time and mind. He has one book, called Rayuela, that particular book can be read in two different ways. In another book he incorporates newspaper articles into the story. Or he simply starts writing with ortographic mistakes. They are not easy reads, they are rather hard to understand, I've read Rayuela thrice and I'm still dealing with some stuff, (particularly some stuff he put in in French). I know some people that read some books, and didn't like them because they didn't understand them, particularly some of the aspects of the problematic (as usual latinamerican identity problem) were hard to understand. If you think you can handle Cortázar go ahead, they are good books, but they might give you a hell of a time. Especially if you read them while reading other books at the same time. Nope, haven't read it. :D
  11. Hey, we don't really know what species GL is, nor what his homeworld is, either. Probably the same as Yoda's...
  12. Yes, with Mr. Green. Imperial Commandos, seem to have a very high stupidity rating... They are pretty uncapable of fulfililng missions, that's why I usually send chars to do the really interesting sabotage missions.
  13. Yep, that's it... Kinda... January 6th.
  14. Trej contacts his villip, sending a command to go and hide and if possible bring the chocolate WOO YAY!!!! The Neb-B!!!!!!!!! It's nice that Nikolaus Tag starts here on December 6th at 6:00 pm! Too bad that I didn't think of checking the thread at that hour, instead here I am at midnight downloading a new model, anyway: THANKS MASK!!!!!!
  15. I found this while wasting my time on the Net. http://www.cdmag.com/strategy_vault/rebellion_preview/page1.html It's a link to one of the sites that reviewed the game before it was launched. The few screenshots look funny, it gives away what the Beta version of REbellion looked like... The pages is from 1996.
  16. As long as it hurts Mon Mothma !!!!
  17. . I do! It's quite easy. You type
  18. In Costa Rica, years ago, the 6th of January was celebrated, with food and candies, etc. Except for Spain there are few spansihspeaking countries that do celebrate it. I doubt my finances will be better. But a little bit of chocolate here and then... That's among the main things I miss of Germany: Rittersport!
  19. Congrats on the promotion, I can remeber when I first got promoted. On topic: Each time a neutral planet joins you, or you liberateoccupied planet it does have an effect on the popular support of all the other worlds in the sector. Sometimes the effect it has is small, like a neutra planet joining, but that little effect is enough to make a neutral-friendly planet join you, that may cause another planet to join you. Indeed a Domino effect! The effect that starts the slide can be big when you free an occupied planet and it joins you. It's double becuase you're making a planet leave the enemy side and then join you. Orbital Bombardments are quiet useful for this, as are uprisings. Planetary assaults aren't that effective. As for the diplomat who started the slide, he only receives the extra points for the planet he turned, not the other ones. Hope it helps
  20. I received this as part of an e-mail forward. I translated them into english. It's impossible to lick your own ellbow Coke originally was green It's possible to make a cow walk up stairs, but it's impossible to make her walk down The sound a duck makes (Kwak-Kwak) doesn't make any echo, and no one knows why. 111111111 x 111111111 =12345678987654321 It's impossible to sneeze with open eyes. The word "cementery" is derived from the Greek word koimetirion, that means Bedroom. . . . . . 80% percent of those that read this, will try to lick their ellbows.
  21. 15 to go, great! AoM is quite good, it makes each civ more unique, than the Aoe series did, and the God Powers are simply awesome.
  22. Great mystery that is. GL hasn't said what species he is, nor his homeplanet. Nothing.
  23. 1984 is a great book! Kelly certainly had reasons enough to recommend it. Orwell's Animal Farm is also a very interesting book. And there is also Homage to Catalonia, again from Orwell, what Jahled told us of his grandfather participating in the Spanish Civil War reminded me of that book. I finished a while ago with the Thousand and One Nights, the arabian tales, which I found really entertaining. Currently I'm reading Libro de Manuel from Julio Cortázar, if there were other spanishspeaking people in the forums I'd really recommend it. I'm ready also the White Goddess from Robert Graves, and the Poetic Edda.
  24. And there's the difference to Costa Rica. No Secret Service here ! Only a few months ago I did realize that the OIJ (Judicial Investigation Office) did have an Intelligence division. So there is no one wondering if certain people are a threat to national security. The real threats to national security are in the Congress, the Presidential Chair, the Syndicates and the CAFTA negotiation group. The pilgrimage to the office next door would be eternal, unless you a) get angry; b) start weeping or c) find a friend who works there and can help you out.
  25. No, that's after the Grupo ICE makes it available for the general public. So far the DSL was in a test stage and in a limited use for the government and the corporative area.
