  1. I heard a rumour that the Bloodlines won't be coming out in paperback at all. Same goes for the fourth one in the series, by that I mean the next one to be released. So say the folks at the bookstore where I work... I hope it's not true. Not true- I saw Bloodlines in paperback at my local bookstore. Didn't buy it on account of not having read enough of the E.U. to fully understand it (In addittion to only having about $50 to spend) but I saw it in paperback.
  2. Link works for me, Eagle. *Shrugs* So far as Iraq goes: I really don't want to pull out; we got these people into this situation, and by the same token we need to get them out of it. That having been said, it's eating up a tremendous amount of our resources, and is still killing soldiers daily. While that may not be as high as the fatality rates in places where it rained bullets, it's still a son, daughter, mother, or father dead every day half-way around the world. I really have no idea what the correct course of action should be- I see the points presented by both sides, and I don't really agree with either one fully. We need to pull out eventually, but when we do we run the risk of a huge civil war. BTW Tex: I believe a grand total of two senators were in support of a draft. Just saying Oh, and conspiracy theories are for the "Left wing hippies." I'm terribly sorry, but "Right wing nut-jobs" are not allowed to use them. (It's a joke, don't take offense.)
  3. Yup- the musical was adapted from (I forget the guy's name)'s Book of Practical Cats. Always like some semi-high-brow humor, J!
  4. A rather witty newspaper heading: Sadam will not be joining us for tonight's New Years celebration. He's still hung over from yesterday.
  5. Where do you come up with ideas for these things, J? Edit: Say, isn't Macavity the name of the "bad guy" in the music Cats?
  6. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/SpiffyAward.jpg I made the Official Spiffy Award! I was actually trying to make another, better Toaster (Or rather, one half of a toaster so that I could mirror it) but the cut tool was dissagreeable, leading me to make this rather neat looking flanged object. I did some texture work (IE modified the rendering I had for my toaster) and created this. Enjoy, recipients.
  7. Why so complicated?? There´s still the community chatroom http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Chat With Skype we get to hear eachother's voices. Plus skype is free. And pretty darn cool, IMHO.
  8. *Clears throat* Who WON the award. I still say Jahled did, even if his isn't an actual avatar.
  9. One hundred dollars U.S, or 100... Umm... Dangit, what do the Swiss use for currency? The Euro? Gah!
  10. How much of the 4.5 liter bottle of vodka is still in the container?
  11. This is going to sound rather dumn, but I still want to know: Is there any way to find out what your measurements for an object in Max are/were? After I click off of the object my measurements for radii, lengths, widths, heights, etc. all dissapear, meaning that I have to either remember 'em or write 'em down... Is there any way to ensure that Max leaves the data on "Sphere one" out in the open for you and such
  12. That does it- J has just won an official spiffy award! Maybe that'll be my next project... I'll engineer the "Official Spiffy Award" in 3Ds Max and learn to animate it or something... Hmm...
  13. I have a great uncle who's a lawyer... I could rewrite his will so that I inherit everything, then kill him, but I don't think that would be the best idea ever...
  14. It always slams with Nebulan B frigate and Corellian (sp?) Corvettes in the first hundred days or so when I'm the Empire. You shoulda let him mass that fleet up, mate! It would've made the game more challenging Quick question- did you mod the game at all with RebED before playing?
  15. That's pretty good, J.
  16. HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYONE!!!!! ... Even if you already celebrated it in your time zone. Mines been alright- two family games of Pop Five (My team won... with huge amounts of cheating) and a countdown a second ago. Happy New Year, folks. Welcome to 2007.
  17. Oh... Right. That it was. My bad. Edit: $49.07 later I now own almost every book in the series short of the internet novels, Balance Point, and the last two novels. I'm rereading the good ones and the essential ones (Dark Tide, Edge of Victory, Star by Star, Behind Enemy Lines) and the beginning the new ones (Dark Journey, (I know, I heard it was crap, but I still want to read it) the other half of Enemy Lines, Traitor, Destiny's Way, and the Force Heretic trilogy) Right now I'm on Dark Tide II: Ruin. In my defense I already reread Edge of Victory, as well as Rebel Dream.
  18. I wish I could, Def, I really do. Unfortunately I'm not yet good enough in the program. I've only had it for *Checks watch* all of four days now, I think. The toaster was do-able primarily because I was lucky enough to find the basic shape as one of the things the computer will make for you. I can try a ship or two, but currently the only one I have in existance is one based off of Mad's ship design tutorial, with a bit of a chevron cut out of the back end because it looks cool...
  19. Oh, yeah- Sadam is dead! (Cues the Music from The Wizard of Oz) He apparently went down without a hood and holding a Quaran.
  20. Skype. My sister showed it to me. She's four years my senior. Thus your not even up-to-date on the tech used by people three years your junior.
  21. Maybe we could get a massive group-skype thing with all of the members! Mad and I managed it, and anyone who has a microphone can join in- my screen name on skype is the same as it is here- DarthTofu.
  22. I'm not quite green enough... Coruscant natives?
  23. I'd kind of like some more info on Fel and his time spent in the unknown regions. I know there was one novel on Jag and his clawcraft and all that, but one on the Baron himself would be much appreciated.
  24. I thought Gavin Darklighter and Jaina Solo were both rather extreme starfighter pilots to act as idols, but then I'm just finding a point of disanalogy. So far as the Jedi are/were concerned, there was some nice development of some of the lesser-known/lesser-utalized characters (Kam and Tionne, for instance) in some of the novels, though as a whole very few authors introduced new characters, or seemed willing to utalize another author's character. Krefey and Vergerre were the only two that seemed to be reemerging, and I think that Vergere was included strictly on the basis of the editors saying, "Hey, make this happen in the next novel!" Wheras Krefey would evolve into something of what Wedge and Rogue Squadron used to be, with the usual "Hey, Wedge, you and Rogue Squadron go kill 8,000 TIEs while we fight!" "Okay, Luke! There aren't any orders for us that we have to worry about or anything!" style character. Still, for all of its flaws, the series is one of the best to be produced by a succession of differant authors.
  25. Defender16 tried to make one, didn't he? What was his progress on it?
