NSO Story Development Discussion (SPOILERS)
DarthTex replied to Defender_16's topic in Gaming Stories
Thanks for the update Paul, I just couldn't remember. Also, I keep forgetting that this is based on an Imperial victory at Endor, not Yavin Saying that, I would agree with you Paul, but had the Empire won at Yavin, then Black Sun would still be alive & kickin' -
NSO Story Development Discussion (SPOILERS)
DarthTex replied to Defender_16's topic in Gaming Stories
I think the Empire would initially pass off a couple of natural disasters on systems with rebel/pirate strikes on the Holo relays to delay Imperial relief response. That way the Empire can say rebels/pirates are preying upon defenseless citizens of the Empire. Then later on, the Empire can state that the rebels had made a pact with an alien race with new weapons to decimate the Empire and its citizens. First off, scratch the Darksaber. The Hutts aren't going to get the technical help from Bevel as the Empire will be keeping him busy, and under a watchful eye Plus, they won't have the resources, especially with the Empire around and even if they did, the Empire would find out eventually (which would then lead to serious reprisals on the Hutts). The key question for you to decide Def, is whether Black Sun is still around or not? As this may impact how smugglers and the Hutts participate for the rest of the storyline. It's been a long time since I read Shadows of the Empire, so I don't really remember how Xizor "bought the farm". I just remember he was extremely competitive with Vader for the Emperor's attention. And I'm sure Palpy would use this to his advantage. I think I would lean toward keeping Black Sun around-and-kicking, as this could give you greater freedom with their actions. This would also give more competition between smugglers, with the Hutts helping the Vong, and Black Sun helping the Empire (and both working both sides). Just my two bits worth. Forget about the Peace Brigade as that type of action will not work against the Empire. The Corporate sector (I believe) will be working to make the greatest amount of money by selling to the Empire, the Rebels, and smugglers/pirates. -
I don't get it Tofu Maybe your young whipper-snapper humor is waaaaay below me

Happy Birthday Budious! Hope you had a good one

NSO Story Development Discussion (SPOILERS)

I'll help as much as I can Def. I'm not really worried about spoilers, I'm just in it for the entertainment I haven't read the Han Solo trilogy (not to self: visit the local library!), and like you, don't know much about the Corporate Sector. But I'm willing to do some Wookiepedia research and submit any logical deductions to keep your story rolling -
From what I have read, a large majority of the Iranian population is "young" (20-35 years young), mostly unemployed, likes western culture, and resents the theological old farts calling all of the shots (for their own benefit, not the people's). Sounds like ripe grounds for another Iranian revolution President "Tom" needed to resolve this quickly to prevent the people from getting pissed off at him, but not too fast as to look like he was cowering from the west. I believe he's under the delusion that having nuclear weapons will give his people respect. He's playing a dangerous game of "chicken" with the world, trying to be the "big hot shot in power", without going too far over the line and actually starting a war. Starting a war with Iran is definitely not the way to go. The Iranian people, like any other nation, stand by their country (not necessarily the current government) and will fight to defend it. It would be much better to get the Iranian people themselves to "make" the government change. I think it will happen someday, maybe not next week, or next month, or next year, but it will happen ... someday. Cheery Oh! The British sailors are home safe & sound.

Interesting Mad, I liked the graphics to It kinda reminded me of the music from the original Terminator movie, when they were at the club Tech Noir.

You cant change yours Mad! Yours is just too awesome, and its just...you! Its like Jahled or Krytos changing theirs...its not just an avatar dammit!!! uh Rob, Jahled and Krytos have changed their avatars. Well, J has really only "shortened" his timeframe length (the rider used to explode into the tree). And K's I believe used to be some sort of a spaceship shooting lasers or whatnot. @Mad: maybe just an update instead of a complete change, sorta like what you did for Christmas. How about instead of Santa & his sleigh departing the Death Star (or Mad Star ), you could have Tie Fighters or Interceptors launching? Or show an X-wing come flying by when the "mouth" closes, munching it up? Just some suggestions

Others have, but let's not dig up "old" topics Tofu, all I can say is ... it's great to have the freedom of self expression. As much as your avatar is disturbing, it definitely matches with your rank insignia. Why some people mutilate themselves is beyond me, and why you would pick a disturbing picture of yourself, just boggles my mind. Why not just a "normal" picture with a smile? But, whatever floats your boat

Sheesh! I totally forgot, yesterday was Alec Guinness's birthday! The Force will always be with him!
-
psst, J ... those are Romulan eyebrows [thinks to self] I have to remember, not many people saw the original showings, only syndicated re-runs, but even those were awhile back [/thinking off]
-
I know that Def, but I have the luxury (as being the reader) to know of other events that they don't, so ... I get a little cranky

Hey, I saw that guy! In person Why there will never be a crossover story between Stargate SG-1 and Star Wars ... http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/1165/sg1supergatetestvu8.jpg

Monkey picks a fight with two tigers Warning: this is an 8MB video; it may take awhile for dial up people

Once again Def, excellent post!

The "new" avatar is with the compliments of the SWR Master GIF-maker: Jahled It is cool! Well, what can I say. Classic movies and classic actors are ... well ... classic Or maybe that should be nostalgic?

Rob, we're talking about the US gov't; of course the price of stamps are going up! (I think they have some secret program to raise the price of stamps every year, but stagger the month it happens to keep the people from suspecting ).

Want to bring a Y-wing to a stop in an instant? Fire that thing off; the recoil will stop it in its tracks Ever see a Y-wing fly backwards? Put that thing on autofire! Does that R2 unit have the reach to pull the trigger?

Happy Birthday pardner! Have another mug or two of beer ... my treat

I voted for Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness as Obi-wan) I wonder why they didn't have a Star Destroyer as a stamp, or Peter Cushing Those would have been nice

Unfortunately, Rebellion cards don't contain an audio component. All sound is "hardwired" into the game from the .DLL files. "Cards" only contain graphics and whatever text that is supplied. Although it sounds like an interesting prospect, it is totally impossible
