  1. I may not buy EaW over SWR anyway, depends how good it looks when it comes out. Until then the jury is out. Good point GAT, you've just punctured my dreams
  2. I voted very good. I'm really impressed. But in my opinion Donut should be above really good, Donuts are nice not bad
  3. Well we can hope. Even if it is unlikely. He is trying to help...
  4. I'll generally eat whats going in large quantities Most of the time its toast, yoghurt, cereals and always a nice cold class of fruit juice.
  5. God, can you imagine the 'Touchee Station' whine on helium? Meerkat style...
  6. Get On Top - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  7. With reference to the change in who won, I think it is a refreshing change to the plot, however you will notice that even in the moment of Evil's greatest triumph Lucas sweetend the blow. Rather than leave it tailing off, for example with the galaxy firmly under Palpatine's grip. He instead presents this instantly recognisable image of the future victory of good, with the baby Luke and his foster parents on Tatooine. This of course presents an image, even without the benefit of the sequals, of some sort of hope for the future, a 'new hope'. With the existance of the sequels it is of course quite hard to enter the prequals with a completley free frame of mind. What I did think was a pity from the whole experience, realting to your point about the target audience was that Gl failed to make the films attractive to a wider range of people. He did not achieve a kind of layer effect. An example of this wouold be william Golding's Lord of the Flies, which can be viewed on two levels; Either as an adventure story about bys on a desert island or as a complex allegory for Golding's view if we look deeper. I think GL would have been b etter to treat the prequels in this manner. Not as an allegory but to appeal to a wider audience. Keep the space battle and the CGI for the kids, but also leave some thing for other people watching, emotion or a decent plot. I suppose you have to be a pretty good director to do that sort of thing, which on present evidence GL does not appear to be.
  8. OK, cool, so how would I go about exporting from gmax to Blender? Is there some sort of file conversion needed?
  9. One thing I would mention. Never, ever put the line "I've got a bad feeling about this" into your game. And once again i'll offer to help in anyway I can. Good luck with this it sounds like a great idea. you seem to have agreat deal of experience with this sort of thing and a good deal of drive. I think you'll do it.
  10. Sorry, just to repeat my question to either Mad or Mask:
  11. Damn, my cover is blown! Ah, if only I'd listen to CC and coloured in my fake ID in crayons Oaharcwoc - 'curses' according to some online translator I found based on SWG... That you Uliq? Welcome Kareen!
  12. I haven't seen it but I have read reviews, Cain and Bale were pointed out as being good, especially Cain. It got three stars from the Gaurdian (UK) which is usually very harsh on reviewing films.
  13. Same here, the original BBC televisation was great. The epitome of low-budget was the second head on Zaphond's shoulder . The original radio series was good as well. The books are inspired.
  14. *Shivers* Give me Vader any day! They all look great.
  15. An incredibly good point Sky, but IMO this does not change the fact that Hayden is a poor actor. Even judging the target audience there is no excuse on Gl's part for casting a substandard actor.
  16. I did have a sudden brainwave for your project: Why not base it on the site's RPG - The Rapora Wars, then it would be a true community project...I haven't readmuch of it (there is quite a lot!) but I aware that it has a storylione and is diverse. Alternativley you could not, its just a thought. Anyway, any jobs for me (or anyone else) yet? Love the idea of the dynamic, randomly generated campaign as that would allow it to be played over and over. EDIT: I have just realised that you in fact started the Rapora Wars so probably had that idea anyway.
  17. I don't really think that is all that much of an excuse. If an actor is not experienced enough to deal woth the 'blue screen' effect then maybe they shouldn't be cast in that role. That is of course the perogative of the Director, but in no way can they complain to be as 'bored as f.' as they did take the role, they were not forced to do it. What frustrates me is not so much the fact that it was poorly acted but the fact that the poor acting made the prequals such a waste, they could have been so good and they ended up like this... Me agrees
  18. Yay! First to comment. Well for me it would be a dynamic campaign system with lots of options over the other two, but preffereably all three! I don't have much (any) experience with programing, but if you find a role for me i'd love to help out. It sounds like a great idea. It was only two days ago that I pulled my copy of Rogue Squadron 2 out of the cupboard andplayed for a while on the gamecube. I'm good at writing in prose, stories and imaginative thinking, so if you need any stuff written up, campaigns, ideas, instructions whatever. I'd just love to help in any way I can. I've just started to learn how to do 3d models after asking Mad for some tutorials so i'm unlikely to be able to help out there. Your concept seems great and I think it seems a great idea. Good luck and I hope I can contribute in some way.
  19. The NOOOO was comical. It was appalling but that is one thing that may truly be the fault of the director rather than the actor, as he probably couldn't help the corny sound that came out of the 'voicebox'. Mark Hamil wasn't that bad for me, in fact he was on the better side of average at least, probably even good One particularly wooden scene that still haunts me would be the scene where he tells Mace about his 'suspicions'. Erghhh. He really should have worked it out by then, the Emperor just happening to know tht the only way to save Padme was the secret lore of the Sith. You could see his eyes move in some sort of attempt at a 'Hmm, something suspicious here' look but still fail at even that simple facial expression, making it look cold and unmaginative.
  20. Offspring - Can't Get My Head Around You Its short but oh so sweet.
  21. *Dance an Irish jig in the spot for no apparent reason...* Seriously though, don't be mean to the poor guy
  22. Cheers Mad, i've looked at purchasing 3dsmax but a over £2000? Thats a bit steep, did you purchase it or get it on your company (don't know what you do but you might have balgged it somehow) or by some other unmentionable means? Also if I construct the model in gmax, can I then export it to Blender to render? (rhymes!) Or would it be worth more to just learn blender in the first place and forget gmax? adthrawn, i'll get to work on the Acclamator once I think my slowly increasing skills are up to it
  23. I thought Jabba's palace was on Tatooine. If it wasn't then i've been labouring under a false illusion for years Although that would mean that you could send forces to tat. but not specifically to his palace.
  24. True, it was just a thought. Could just be the opinions of the designers when they created all the characters corrensponding to the limits that they had been set.
  25. Dang, I wish I could help but as of present i'm no good with Photoshop Well keep up the good work and good luck
