Cheers for the Solar Sail article, its very interesting. A point for the microwave concept: Now from limited physics knowledge I know that energy is neither created nor destroyed. Is the effect of heating caused by the energy changing form? For example from a battery (eletrical energy) to propulsion (heat energy). If so would the engine have to be completley energy efficient in order to maintain a constant velocity. Wouldn't outside factor cause the process to lose energy?

I've got a question for you Cain: Will EaW be being run on a kind of Total War type mega map, with action on the planets with ships and groudn troops? The video you posted (somewhere) seems to suggest that.

That particular feature is good, it is refreshing to always start in a different way. It really expands the life of a game when you always have to adapt to a new situation. Something like this in Reb 2 would really be a good idea.

War of the Worlds is one of those classic novels that I have always meant to read. I doubt i'll see the film before I read the book, so I guess i'll be off to the library soon. So really I can beither comment on the film nor the book in detail. One thing about your report that suprised me, Tom Cruise never really stuck me as that much of an actor, he always seemed to be more about action and good looks, although it is good to see him doing well uin a good role unlike some I could mention!

What should I read, all the Rapora Stuff or is there a simple explanation of the story somewhere, I guess the Encyclopedia is a must but the 55 page RPG? Which stories can and can't I join? Basically Stellar...what should I do?

That wouldn't make any sense, you can't bombard with a fleet on a planet as they would fight the orbiting fleet and be destroyed or force the agressors away, that would include the fighters.

When you are planning a mission to deep space this isn;t a bad thing, as it will eventually accelrate past the maximum speed of the alternatives and will evetually outstrip them.

No idea whats up with the colours, they were fine in game so it was nothing to do with the game being modded, I've jusy done it again and it workedthis time. Must have just been a corrupted screenshot before...

Yep its possible take a look. For some reason the colours really sucked but you can see the imperial build screen with an alliance dread.

O've thought about explosions and they are possible. As a ship explodes it loses atmospheric containment, this mean that oxygen and other gases will be available for combustion, therefore explosions are possible. As for Lasers and sounds, you'll have to ask someone else, i.e. someone who actually know rather than myself who just akes hypotheses based on limited physics and guesswork.

Yes; Open Rebed and click on a ship, halfway down on the right hand side you will see two tick boxes next to "Can be built by". Check the appropriate box and the ship should be able to be built by that side.

If you think really convulutedly then it [the prophecy] could have feasably been a Sith idea all along: 1) A Sith Lord (Palpatine? or possibly his master) creates the prophecy 2) The fufilment of this prophecy would be Anakin. 3) Using the 'Dark Lore of the Sith' mention in EIII, midichlorians are manipulated to create Anakin, the fufilment of the prophecy. 4) Palpatine becomes Naboo senator to watch over Anakin. 5) The Jedi are attracted to the plaent by the trade fleet in order to notice Anakin. 6) The Jedi train him whilst Palpatine manouvers behind the scenes. 7) The Sith trap is sprung, the Jedi are brought down from the inside by the Sith created prodigy. 8 ) The unforeseen part, Anakin throughs Palpy down the shaft after retaining a tiny spark of good. Thats the outline of what i've been thinking on anyway, I could write it in more detail later if thats a bit brief. Hows that for a hypothesis?

Whilst there may be no resistive force there is always inertia from the force of the engines. The sheer force of the enigne will matter, therefore a ship with larger engines relative to its mass will be faster. Gravity I suppose also plays a small part in determining velocity, based upon trajectory you could boost velocity by aiming for a gravity well such as a star.

I don't disagree with monthly fees from that perspective, more that they are inflexible with my style of play.
