  1. I suggest ebay.
  2. The majority of my reading takes the form of one Stephen King, my personally favorite author.
  3. Obviously, the founding fathers were deeply religious. Not only is the "under God" in the Pledge, but look at the US currency, where is always states "In God We Trust". This country was built by men who felt that God was on their side as they fought for their independence, and when they won it, they thanked God (seriously, how what were the chances of the rag-tag colonists defeating the mighty British empire, the strongest nation at the time?). Things have changed today. The population of America is now very mixed in it's religious views. Some are Christian/Catholic, but now there many new faiths being represented that weren't here 250+ years ago. I feel that the Pledge is a historic representation of what the founding fathers fought for, and to alter it would be like a slap in the face to them. To me, the "under God" part is just honoring the beliefs of the people who fought and died to bring this country to life. As I stated earlier, I am beginning to lose my faith, but that does not mean I want to alter history.
  4. I think that the Vader/ Luke confrontation in ESB contains the most powerful acting of all the films, when Luke screams, "no...that's not true...THAT's IMPOSSIBLE" "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!". His voice and facial expressions fit the part so dramaticly. Sure beats anything Hayden could have done.
  5. An art teacher who dabbled on Wall Street?! That's amazing!
  6. A flusey is a loose woman who stands outside the village cantina waiting to send a starfighter down a Death Star trench. Wow, I think I outdid myself there.
  7. If the Organa's had told Leia the truth, then the point of hiding her away and keeping her true identity a secret would have been useless. They just told her that she was the child of a close friend who died in childbirth, or that they found her in the intergalatic adoption home for humans. I'm sure Leia was very close with the Organa's, and considered them her parents. I don't think she ever really thought about her real mother, wondering who she was. However, in ROJ Luke asks "tell me about your mother. Your real mother". Since Luke had been with the Rebellion for three years by then (and been such close friends with Leia) I'm sure that he knew the story of her adoption. So he asked about her real mother, knowing she would know he meant her birth mother, not her adoptive mother. Luke knew she was his sister, and wouldn't want to hear her rattle on about her adoptive mother who had no bearing on Luke whatsoever. So Leia explained that she only had brief memories and feelings of her mother. 'Nuff said. And by the way, I must defend Mark Hamill. I think his work in ESB was THE BEST acting in ALL 6 movies!!!
  8. That sounds pretty sweet! I'm excited. And I like how it takes place a few years before ANH, where you can control the entire Rebellion as opposed to picking up right after ANH. Which also means that perhaps Tarkin will make an appearance...
  9. Yeah, my parents never liked games either. When I first got NES, my dad probably played it more than me. He was addicted to Mario and Duck Hunt. Then he got mad at himself for being so addicted. I think that's why they hated the games so much.
  10. Ha. That's awesome! I used to have an this art teacher in HS. One day I was walking around the school for my photo class, taking pics. I walk outside, and lying on the grass, looking up at the sky. are two men. One is the art teacher (he was always stoned) and the other was the drug/peer counsleor. So I walk over to them to chat, and the art teacher is going on about how the clouds remind him of his past and stuff, and the drug guy is just nodding and agreeing. I think they were both a bit stoned. It was great!
  11. Tofu, I am shocked and appalled. The NES was a kickass system (the first one I had). It was so freaken sweet, with tons of sweet games. Ranting in old person voice: And back in my day, we had only TWO action buttons, not like you fancy kids with their four buttons on the controller, four more on top, and one on the back thrown in for good measure. And another thing. We didn't have these fancy smancy analog sticks. We had one good old directional pad. But I see kids these days with TWO analog sticks, to control the CAMERA ACTION! Gosh, kids today...
  12. I agree with Evaders. Espicially seeing how there was a big ceremony on Aldreaan when they returned with Leia. The whole planet knew she was adpoted (I think they would have noticed if Mrs. Organa was pregnant). Even Luke knew that Owen & Beru were not his true parents. I don't think the Organa's would hide that. Maybe they made up a sweet lie like the Lars' did. Leia- What happened to my mother? Bail- Uh...she was...a freighter pilot...yeah...
  13. Tofu, I hope you are j/k or I would be very shocked. I don't know if it was for the gameboy or not, but it was definetly for the NES. I know there was an ESB and ROJ for SNES, but that was much later on.
  14. I dunno. I still have the suspicion that Leia felt Padme's emotions. Leia always had a strong connection to Jacen and Jania when she was carrying them. Though that doesn't explain why Luke has no memory of his mother.
  15. I was thinking that also. I have the suspicion that Leia may have been "aware" while in the womb. Perhaps Padme's emotions were washing onto Leia. Padme was pretty upset when Obi told her that Anakin was responsible for slaughtering the Jedi in the Temple.
  16. I log in every morning before work, and occasionally I'll get a chance to do it again in the afternoon or at night.
  17. I believe that the man on the end in the blue shirt is sporting a pistol in one hand and a can o' beer in the other. I believe that Tofu's suspicions were correct.
  18. NP. Is that Trogdor the Burnanator?
  19. Wanted to congratulate Darth Tofu on number 500. He's on a roll!
  20. The Northern Lights? That sounds like a cover-up to me.
  21. Heh. That's one of the little things about Texas that I wish the rest of the country had... the comfort to not have a cow over a guy with a gun. If I had it my way, anyone in the country could walk anywhere with a gun.
  22. They had a hard time deciding to train him at the age he was at. If he were older it would have been a very lengthy debate. But had a Dark Jedi found him first, then he may have still been trained, since I don't think the Sith had such strict recruitment policies.
  23. The oldest game I remember is Star Wars (A New Hope) for the NES. I could never get too far. The game started as Luke in the Dune Sea, driving the landspeeder around, looking for stuff.
  24. Right, right...
  25. It's a basic 3rd person shooter, where you choose to play as an army (Empire vs Rebels or Republic Clones vs Sepratist Battle Droids). Each army has 5 characters to choose from, who have different weapons and abilities. You then run around a famous battle from the Star Wars universe, capturing the enemy's spawning areas. It is fun (nothing beats jumping into an ATAT during the Battle of Hoth and destroying the shield generator) (going on an ewok-killing spree), but it's not as challenging as other 3rd person shooters (like Medal of Honor-my personal fav). So hopefully the new one makes things more complex, where you need to form some strategy rather than just running and shooting. But I still break it out every 3 weeks or so and have a go at the Rebel scum.
