  1. Palpatine would still have won. With or without the Senate's approval, the Clone Army was already produced and awaiting pickup. Palpy only had to have implemented Order 66, and bam, the Clone Army is under his control. As Darth Sidious, he still had the CIS convinced that the Republic was evil. So Palpy could have decided to "defect" to the CIS, and then have the droid army AND clone army versus the Republic. Either way, Palpy had this thing planned out for soooo long that it would have been impossible for him to lose.
  2. Note to all: I started reading the ROS novel. Dooku shares with the reader that he feels that the aliens are not deserving of power and wealth. He knows that once Palpy becomes Emperor, the CIS alien worlds will lose all their standing in the galaxy, and over time the same goes for other non-human races as well. So perhaps the Empire was also established to abolish non-humans as well as the Jedi.
  3. Maul seemed more rough and animalistic. He was just a very scary person who had a commanding presense that instilled fear into all. He def. did not have the look of a diplomat. A politician must have a certain warmth about him, otherwise he fails to sway the masses. Dooku most certainitly had a regal presense that inspired awe into others. He's the reason the CIS continued to grow in numbers.
  4. I would like to change my stance on this, since my last post. Maul was more of a vicious fighter. He was great for winning one battle on the side of one particular planet (Trade Federation). But Palpy needed someone different to head the CIS. Maul would not have been able to do that. The Seperatists needed a Sith who was a leader and diplomat in order to bring them together and be recognized for what they stood for. Had Maul survived the Battle of Naboo, then eventually Palpy would have betrayed Maul eventually for Dooku.
  5. Continued from the "Dancing Yoda" topic. Wuher runs about in ANH, shouting "no blasters! no blasters!" when (I think) Ponda Baba and Dr. Evanstan start up with Luke and Obi. I think he minds blasters very much. As for the droids, anyone in that damn cantina could have been a spy (like Garidan). And I don't think Wuher ever bothered laying down carpet that's only gonna get painfully stained with blood, guts, and drink. So I think he had a droid detector installed so that he could be kind of a bully. Maybe he was picked on in school, and now, in order to feel like a big shot, he stoops to the level of picking on helpless, inferior droids.
  6. Yeah. But I still wish that an Interdictor Cruiser could be used to yank Rebel ships out of transit for an ambush!
  7. He was very adamant about "no blasters!" in his cantina. You would think he would invest in a weapon detector rather than a "droid detector".
  8. Upstate New York, where the biggest threat is running smack into a deer at least several times a day.
  9. Seriously! I still can't even begin to conceive what kind of brain parasite burrowed deep into the mind of Lucas to make him even consider doing that!
  10. And being the fool that I am, I'm sure I'll buy the super mega Saga collection (all 6 DVDs that I already own) when it eventually comes out. Now that I think of it, Im really looking forward to a releasing of the ORIGINAL trilogy (4-6, NOT the special edition). I can't take watching Greedo fire first!
  11. From the EU I gathered that a ship caught in a tractor beam could not enter hyperspace.
  12. You mean to tell us that you don't have a copy to love, cherish, and call your own
  13. To add a short note to this, Palpy also needed an Empire that believed in him to help disolve the Jedi. He needed to get the galatic populace to believe that the Jedi, a many, many year guardian of the Republic, had turned on the very people they were sworn to protect. This would allow him to start the mass assassinations of the Jedi (via a powerful Sith apprentice and a clone army) while telling civilians that it had to be done since the Jedi had betrayed the Republic. The Empire was also like a slap in the face to the Jedi. The Jedi had lived and fought for the Republic, but that had been replaced by the Sith, who ran the Empire as tryants, tightning their grip on the galaxy.
  14. If Maul survived the Battle of Theed, Sidious would have no need to use Dooku. Maul would have been the one to assist him in his plans for galatic domination. And without Anakin around to become Vader, Maul would be the Emperor's right-hand man for destroying the Jedi order. I do believe that Maul would give Vader a run for his money, so I can see ANH having Darth Maul running about the Death Star.
  15. It was his way of finally ridding the galaxy of the Jedi and thus bringing in a new era of the Sith. A normal person would have had several apprentices, but Palpy wanted to keep with Sith traditions, so only had one at a time. I don't think he set Maul up. Maul was simply over-powered by having to face two Jedi at once. As for Dooku, he kept him around until he found someone who was more powerful and could be of greater help to his ultimate goal of destroying all Jedi, so he betrayed Dooku for Anakin. He then kept Vader until the end. The Empire was all about destroying the Jedi order, and it worked for the most part. Most of the Jedi were killed by Palpy and Vader, until the son of Skywalker arrived and outdid his father, bringing Anakin back and ridding the galaxy of Palpy for a short time.
  16. The Party City by me had a Darth Vader costume for my dog. I was sooo close to buying it, but when I saw the price tag ($20), I changed my mind real fast.
  17. Well, I finally got to give Battlefront a whirl, and I must vouch and speak very highly of it! It is a great, fun game, with huge improvements over the first one. My friend and I played a couple of instant action games, and I owned him so bad. So there I am, running about the Death Star, and suddenly a little message pops up saying, "Play as Emperor Yes/No?". That is probably the stupidist question anyone has ever asked me. I said "Hell Yeah!!!" and I started running about shocking everyone and their mother with Force Lightning! Then we played the Coruscaunt level, and once again, it said "Play as Maul Yes/No?". I KICKED MAJOR ASS as Darth Maul! His lightsaber skills were nuts!!! I think I had Maul kill my friend as least 5 times before I won the level! It was great! And when we played Jabba's palace and my friend became Luke, but got eaten by the Rancor, simply classic! I love this game!!!!!!!!
  18. I have never seen the AI even build a Death Star. But then again, I play about 90% of my games as the Empire, so that explains that. But I think the AI would consider using the superlaser to destroy a planet a "stupid move" and thus will not do it. The AI does not think it's worth the reprecussions (but I do !!!!)
  19. I def. gonna have to give that a whirl sometime soon. Yoda- "Ready for this, are you?" (begins to "break it down")
  20. Wow. It sucks to be him.
  21. I always thought the blue sphere represented an ion attack making contact against the ship, depleting the ships systems.
  22. Why, thank you, thank you all! Just being able to contribute to this wonderful site with all of you WONDERFUL people makes me so happy!!!
  23. Ah. So you can't start a campaign and play as the same "main character" the entire game? Each level allows you to play as whatever troops, and one main character, which alternates depending on where the level takes place?
  24. No, no. I understand that in the game the MonCals are more powerful defensivly. But I mean in actuallity. Like if four regiments of AT-ATs were deployed during an invasion, and only had to deal with one regiment on MonCals, the AT-ATs would simply CRUSH a bunch of fishmen! If the bulk of the Rebellion army could not stop three AT-ATs and an AT-ST, then how could one lone squad of MonCals put a halt to four AT-AT REGIMENTS (one regiment must include 2 or more AT-ATs)?!
  25. I heard it tastes more like chicken.
