The forum text looks a lot bigger. Like, not the actual posts, but the topics on the forums themselves. I like it.

We just came back from seeing Role Models. It was a lot better than I anticipated. A stupid comedy, but great nonetheless.

I hate to double post, but I just had to say how awesome Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is. I know its also available on the PC, so if you're looking for a great RPG, this is it. I never played WoW before, and after playing this game, I glad I never got into it. Oblivion is pretty much WoW offline. It has the most in-depth character creation I have ever experienced in an RPG, and its unique process of "leveling up" is both different and amazing. There is just so much to do...I almost hate the game because its so great... Anyone else played it?

I'll have to check it out one night and leave her hanging in the other room. I just watched the new Futurama movie- Benders Game. It was great! Almost as good as the first movie, and totally made up for the second movies rather disappointing storyline. The thing that confused me is this. In the credits, it says "special appearance by Gary Gygax". But he passed away in March. So how is he in this movie?!?!?!

Unfortunately I havent seen Casino Royale yet. The problem is that the misses saw it previously without me (I think she saw it on a plane flight) and did not like it, and I havent had time to watch a movie on my own. I really want to see it...

I just have my two cents about the Iraq war. I watched an interview they did with Saddam after he was captured, before he was executed. In it, he stated that he did not have the WMDs in Iraq, hence why U.S. forces have not found them yet. However, he implied that he did have them, and wanted the international community to believe that he had them. His greatest concern was that Iran would invade Iraq, and in order to deter them, he led everyone to believe that he had a stockpile of WMDs. So even when the U.S. was preparing to initiate the war, he did not say otherwise. He would rather have the U.S. invade Iraq then Iran. So yes, Saddam is to blame, since he led the U.S. to believe that he was a threat, and the U.S. acted on that threat. The job of a government is to promote the safety and security of the nation, and the U.S. acted on what it believed was a threat. Heres a link to the interview. On a second note, I just want to say something else about all this. I am a firm believer in international cooperation, and I dont agree with the U.S. stance on not supporting the ICC (International Criminal Court). I really believe that Saddam should have been tried there, for war crimes. Instead, he was given a trial in Iraq and executed. I feel that his case warranted an international trial. Like I said, just my two cents.

HAHAHA Thats great Tofu! Didnt you do that last year also? I seem to remember you working for a haunted house and scaring children before.

Hey, Im trying to to judge him yet. Im just drawing parallels based on previous similar historical events in American politics. I just see McCains loss similar to that of Fords re-election bid in terms of the circumstances. I am also basing it on that fact that like that particular election, the person who was the more underqualified in terms of experience beat the more experienced and season civil servant.

So thanks to this deal I will be obtaining a PS3 tomorrow. That little promo helped me make my decision rather quickly. Edit: So yeah, I waited on line for almost 2 1/2 hours, but got my PS3. The sale began at 8am. I was there at 7am, and about 30 people were in front of me. Luckily, they werent all there for the PS3, as Walmart had laptops on sale for $300 and some other junk that was pretty cheap. But I just wanted my PS3. I was happy in the end. With the giftcard, I picked up Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resistence: Fall of Man. I still have like $25 left on the card, so I will go back again when its less hectic and shop around.

Thats a good point E. I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but its like with Ford after Nixon's resignation. People saw Ford as a connection to Nixon, and thus elected Carter.

Actually, I was referring to the animated series...

Could it be because I used Firefox? I'll try again with IE.

So there will be no pics of my Halloween costume, because it sucked. Basically, I went for the Burgess Meredeth look. Unfortunately, I just looked like some guy with a big nose going to the prom. My customers said I looked "elegant", and one even called me "Pinocchio". It was sad. I want to redeem myself, so next year I may plan a lot more in advance and go for the Danny DeVito look.

Nice cards! I liked Kota and Juno from The Force Unleashed. How about Starkiller himself?

RIP Michael Crichton He will be missed a lot by me. He was my second favorite author growing up (next to Stephen King), and I loved his work. It was somewhat sci-fi, but he always wrote in a way that made it seem like it was possible. He was very intelligent, and for all his crazy ideas, he always backed it up with plausible science. I enjoyed Jurassic Park and Lost World a lot growing up, and just last month I convinced my friend to read them both. The movies were great, but did not do the books credit. So yeah, RIP Mr. Crichton. You are one of my favorite authors, and kept me reading during my middle school and high school years.

So I tried to get into the IRC chatroom while the site was down, and it kept saying something like "couldnt connect to server" or something, so I gave up. Edit: This is the message I get: Connecting... Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection refused: connect Connecting... Unable to connect : java.lang.NullPointerException I am not too techy, so any help would be hot.

I dunno. I went in with high hopes, and it just didnt sit well with me. I think I would rather watch that Ewoks series...

I would have preferred Rice as the Presidential choice myself. Thank you. I initially thought she would pop up during the primaries to counter Hillary, but she did not. I do think that Palin had a lot to do with McCain's loss. Palin was just too...weird. The only thing I liked about her was her support of the NHL.

You're right Eagle. Even though I am upset over the outcome, I do acknowledge the impact of having an African American President. My main qualm with him is over universal health care, and some other issues here and there. However, all in all, Im happy to see it be him than Hillary. That would have scared the crud out of me. @Tex- I still think that the electoral college is outdated. It is true that many people vote along party lines, and its for this reason that the college is unnecessary. Its not like we would elect some third-party wingnut if there was a popular vote. Unless its all a deep conspiracy where the two main parties control the electoral college, which they do. So I guess we will never see a popular vote election for the Presidency.
-
I have had no problem or anything like that to report. Im just glad things are back here. I was missing the place...
-
You know, this election once again brings me to bash on the electoral college. Its 100% completely useless. Todays voters are informed enough as they dont need the college. It ruins everything. As of right now, McCain is 49% in the popular vote, and Obama is 51%. Thats a very close race. But when you look at the electoral votes, its horrible. McCain does not stand a chance... Like Evaders district, New York is a heavily Democratic state (thanks to NYC), so even though I voted, it was wasted. If we didnt have the electoral college, the vote would not have been wasted. Edit: Im glad the forums are back. I was hoping they would be back up before the US Presidential election. I guess it was close enough. At least I can still gripe.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I fear it is the end for McCain...

Those are all awesome. I didnt take the time to look at all the text on the site, but Im sure that some of those were not actual carvings. They looked a little too good. On the topic of Halloween, the restaurant I work at is having all the servers dress up. I didnt know what to do, but my friend said that he was going to dress up as the Joker. That inspired me to spend the next week going crazy getting a costume together so that I can be The Penguin (from the Batman universe, of course). As usual, I will share pics of my creation when they are done. And hopefully this costume will not be as ghetto as my Mario one from last year...

I resurrect this thread as a means of bringing major kudos upon myself for post #3000.
