  1. I liked True Lies, great action flick. Enemy at the Gates was also good. And speaking of movies based on french movies, 12 Monkeys was based in La Jet, a french movie - both of which are good movies.
  2. Long live the Rebellion!
  3. Hmm, the trailer I saw didn't have that part It was on at the end of the news tonight (Channel 10 for those Aussies out there), just a short teaser that starts with "Rise Lord Vader" scene, and that's all I'm going too say Though it looked good, and there's a space battle scene!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, and I voted for the first one
  4. IC: (Lieutenant Varn) Anger boiled up in Varn. Lost! How could my legion of Stormtroopers loose those scum! "Sir, we have troopers positioned at each end of the vent shaft. We now have a third and forth squad moving down the vents searching. Though we're yet to find them." "I gathered that Corporal. "Ah, send out more search parties - and get my company together. We're heading back to the launch pad my regiment is landing on." It wasn't actually his regiment, rather the regiment that he belonged to - though Varn prefered to call it his own, preparing for the future. OOC: Just incase you guys forgot about this RPG Oh, and Varn's heading straight towards us
  5. Afton! Rantar could barely believe what he was seeing. "Hahaha! Afton! Great to see you!" Rantar yelled as he embraced his friend. "Lower your guns guys - they're friends. "Come on Afton, and bring your friend, I've got some speeders waiting outside." **** Twenty minutes later, the speeders were back at Rantar's hidden headquarters. Within the saftey of the base, Rantar felt it was safe to talk to his new found friend without being interrupted. "So, things have changed since we last met, haven't they Afton." Rantar said with a smile on his face. With a deep breath, Rantar told Afton all about what had been happening to him and his world since his capture. Taking another deep breathe, Rantar continued. "After my little falling out, Tro'bar introduced me to some people who were already rebelling in there own way against the goverment here for various reasons - all relating back to the Organisation. Oswal over there use to be a cargo huller until one of his loads exploded outside the spaceport months ago - he was given the sack, and has been left to fend for himself. The explosion was done by the Organisation in order shut down the space port in order to remove some "classified" cargo. Most have simular stories, others have worse. Nevertheless, when I told them all about the Organisation - it was obvious that they needed to be stopped. "After a while, we got organised and enlisted a lot more people - and made sure that there weren't any spies in with them - and we all decided we needed a leader. Umm, against my better judgment . . . and opinion . . I was "elected" leader. "Since then we've made our presence felt with non-violent means. Though we've been getting ready for a military strike as we speak against the organisation." Rantar stop speaking, and allowed all the information to settle with Afton and her friend. "So, how's things been for you, and who's your friend?"
  6. Sshhh Scath I voted for the last option - got nothing against those who dress up, kinda think those who name their kids after some Star Wars characters are weird (well, calling anyone Greedo is just weird ). And using a lightsaber to cut a cake . . . .ahh, enough said I'll stick to the movies, games and books
  7. Karn bit his lip and thought. After a second of pause, he spoke. "Hmm, so the jammers weren't directed at us, but were active? Interesting, we need to tell the General about this ASAP. "As for the info - it does show us what we've faced, though its to ineffecient to do on the fly during the battle. As for debriefing and assessing further battles its fine, thoguh we still lack an efficient way to judge targets during a battle. "Nevertheless, what have we faced so far? Keep in mind, I garantee that the Imperial's are holding some units in reserve for us."
  8. The three speeders slowed to a stop 100 metres from the Two Moons Cantina. By the time the speeders had stopped, 12 casual looking men and women had exited their transports and started moving to the cantina. One of Rantar's opratives currently in the bar had spotted the bounty hunters that had been sent to kill him. Now it was Rantar's turn to take the initutive and strike against them first. By the time Rantar and his two bodyguards reached the cantina, Corpral Oswal was waiting for Rantar by the entrance. "Rantar, my squads securred the perimeter and I've got 4 inside watching our targets." "Good. We'll enter and capture them alive - all weapons are to be set to stun. Last thing we need is for our first action as the Vathonir Rebellion to be killing some Bounty Hunters and making some new enemies." Oswal simply nodded, and placed a hand in his pocket and keeping it resting on his blaster. The four entered the cantina slowly and surveyed the area. It took mere moments for them to spot their agent in the cantina, and for the agent to point out a booth at the far back of the cantina where the bounty hunters were. Figures, another bar - another dark booth in another corner. A little cliche With wave of his hands, the four rebels already inside postioned themselves to protect Rantar and the others. They all kept their weapons hidden, and would stay like that unless there was trouble. Slowly, Rantar and the others approached the booth. As Rantar stepped beside it he spoke in a low tone, "I hear you've been looking for me - well now I've found you." OOC: Your turn Jess
  9. I'm a Roman Cathlic, and I have to agree with Jahled to an extent - in my opinion two things should never mix with politics: Religion and War. Which really rules out both Kerry and Bush . . . oh well I'm not American, so I can't say who is better because I'm only going on what the media tells me down here - so considering that America seems to have so much influence on the world, lets all hope that the next President can do the job well - whom ever that might be P.S. I hope I havn't offended anyone, as this is a pretty touchy topic
  10. Woo! Congrats Mad!!! Here's to your next thousand posts
  11. Karn paused for a moment to take in Tython's idea. "Hmmm, I'd agree that the Empire tries to limit the power of idividuals - though at least towards the end of Palpatines life that wasn't the case with warships entirelly. Remember the Empire created Super Star Destroyers, which could take on an entire fleet by themselves - and in essence they were controlled by one person. "The problem with the perfect ship is cost. With the current war technology available, I'm sure the Empire could come up with a new ship, with evective anti-capital and anti-fighter weaponary, as well as good speed, manoeuvrebility and shielding. However, the cost for such a vessel would be high, so would maintenance and so on. So, it would be impracticle to build them in large numbers even to serve as flag ships for task forces, or fleets. It's a lot cheaper to create a few cheaper ships to suit these fields - and it also becomes of strategic importance to be able to send soley anti-fighter ships to one area or visa versa. "Maybe in the future with better technologies, warships like this will be available . . . ah, then again, maybe it's good that they're not around."
  12. Woo! Welcome back Antilles! Did I mention Woo?
  13. IC: "Mass production can be good - though it can be bad. Look at mass produced battle droids. Without numbers their only use is cannon fodder. Then again, getting swarmed is a good tactic - it's a long used fighter and bomber tactic. Swarm a capital with fighters, only a few will probably be lost, while the rest can deliver their payload of torpedos and bombs. "Even other vessels, Corvette scale, have begun adopting these tactics. Especially smugglers and some Alliance units prior to the birth of the New Republic. "Which beckons the next question - what makes an ideal Capital? I'm in favour of weaponary suited to specific tasks - heavy turbolasers for anti-capital backed up by laser cannons for anti fighter and warhead launchers for accuracy and multiple. Can't think of any vessels that fit that description though. "The ships needs to have decent speed, to keep up with most vessels. Though manouvrability isn't that import in my opinion if the vessels larger than say 700 metres. And, of course, it needs to be strong - both hull and shields."
  14. Holding back the bitterness in his voice, Karn replied to the communication officer, "Very well." "Didn't go well?" Kre'nel asked. "Nope. All ships have been denied access to anywhere even remotely close to the moon." Kre'nel didn't say anything. Karn didn't like just sitting around and doing nothing. He had been given an assignment, and he couldn't do anything about it except sit around and hope the Empire would launch an assault on the New Republic fleet. Kre'nel finally spoke up, as if she read his mind. "The Empire wont risk attacking the fleet sir - it would only hamper their political efforts with Hefi. Simply put, if we wish to complete our assigned mission we will be forced to try alternative tactics." "I all ready know that Kre'nel - though what can we do about it? We're tied to this fleet, and unless we track down the Imps and get their fleet to initiate their jammers we can't do much." "True sir - though what if we were able to locate an Imperial vessel that was by itself or lightly gaurded?" "I'm listening." "Surely the Imperial fleet didn't bring all their troops to be risked in the fleet engagement. Perhaps when they move troops in . . " "No, the Empire wouldn't risk troop transports to be seen by Hefi. Though . . though, you've got a point. Even the Empire's ships need fleet tenders - and not just for the usually military purposes. Tranportation of personal, food stuffs and more. "If we could capture one of those ships . . . no, too ambitious. Though there would be escort, and they might have the same jammers to hide the tenders, or even disguise them as something larger to make the attacking force retreat." "Should we pass this by the General, sir?" "No, not yet - first I'll tell Alex about it." "Who?" "Sorry, Sergeant Brandei." Then both Karn and Kre'nel left the bridge to find Brandei.

  16. IC: Rantar looked over the hologram in front of him. It portrayed the detailed schematics of an innocent looking building. Though his intelligence personal had been able to get inside several installations controlled by the Organisation and find out the location of a few of their installations. Now it was Rantar's time to wage a war on those who robbed the people of his planet of their freedom. Though he didn't stand along in his war, with the help of Tro'Bar he had been able to recruit several key Security personal as well as the people who had first started lashing out at the government - the people who had been blamed for the bomb explosion that had started this entire mess. Rantar's concentration was broken as a dark figure entered the room and spoke in raspy voice that always seemed to be under his breath. "Rantar, we have reports of several people looking for you. They are off worlders, and intelligence believes they are bounty hunters hired to kill you." Rantar scratched his new goatee - grown to help disguise his face from the public whenever he ventured outside. "Well, lets not disappoint them. Prepare Oslow's squad - we'll go "great" them and find out who sent them this time." "What about the attack on the facility?" "It can be postponed a day without any problems." "Very well - I shall organise our forces for deployment." The dark figure moved off and Rantar followed after him. Not long after, three inconspicuous speeders headed off into the night in search of these new "bounty hunters". OOC: The "bounty hunters" will actually turn out to be you Jess - and we havn't blown anything up yet, I thoughy you'd like to help in that department
  17. hey guys, one exam down and one left - so I'll be able to post a bit now Hey Jess, I actually had an idea for that - pretty much you start searching for me, the usually places like pubs, taverns and cantinas and I'll get wind of it. So pretty much I'll track you down with my new "friends" which you'll learn about soon Then we'll get to work starting a revolution! !
  18. Hey bobandrupert, I'm a little busy at the moment - just had my first exam yesterday. Though in a few days things settlle down a bit and I'll go over to the forum and check things out and probably join.
  19. Very nice! Any idea how they did it? Not really, though you can see a small propeller prop at the front of the mower, and the handle bars at the back appear to be a tail fin. Still, how they loop and bank that thing is beyond me!
  20. A mate just sent me this http://www.hugi.is/hahradi/bigboxes.php?box_id=51208&f_id=1159 I believe this goes under the "What the?" catagory
  21. Sorry T'Char - I must have missed that part Go for it! We could use someone working as part of the Organisation, and your right that your character fits in there. Have fun with it - I'll be out of the loop for a while most probably, exams are literally right around the corner so I'd better start studying I should be back at it by the end of the week at the latest.
  22. Tool - Intolernace
  23. Ah, you forgot what else they're good for - paper weights Sorry if anyone likes them, though I have nothing but dislike for them after using them for graphics every week. And from my experience with OS X - it's not that stable, and extremely annoying. Oh well, that's my gripe for they day
  24. The whole fleet! Woo, that's going to be fun Hey Jess, at present I was planning on leading a revolution agaisnt the Organisation on the Vathonir. Now that you're here, do you want me to wait for you to find me before I start or start and then you find me?
  25. Rantar laid in the gutter, bottle in one hand, anonymity in the other. He stared up into the heavens pondering his life’s meaning. Was it really worth the struggle anymore? All that he had been brought up on had been torn down in an instant – and now he could feel the darkness inside spreading through every facet of his mind. A cold malice ached through out his body, moaning to get out and be released in order to satisfy the hunger. But Rantar couldn’t, his mind was too clouded and augmented with alcohol now to do anything. He just lay there, in a gutter, down the back alley of a bar that he couldn’t identify wishing that it was all a dream and that he would wake up now. “WHY?!?!? WHY?!?!?â€
