  1. Got it, watched brother play it. First half (or so) is great .. then it gets weird, and the end felt a bit forced and ot what I was looking for. So I was let down by it. Also, some of the button mashing parts are a real pain in the arse. Over all, play it, watch it - do something with it. It was a great idea
  2. Oh! I missed this! Neat, I might consider that car in the future - looks to be a decent Grand Tourer. I'll need a sports car as well, and if we're going electric the Tesla roadster might not be too shabby. Of course, I'll need to be able to afford one first ... meh, details. Oh and for today I'm writing all of this on tablet and Vista is putting it to text. I'm yet to train it, and it seems to be pretty good - mostly. Some words it has problems with, particularly the letter 'b'. I'm interested to see how it goes with training. In the mean time I need to review all I write. Also, while neat it's quicker to type... well for me at least. I wonder if there's a voice recognition version?
  3. I'm more worried for the hurricane if Tex is there In all seriousness, though, keep safe you old codger

  8. Invasion? There is no invasion and nothing to see here in Australia. It is bland and boring and barren. Please, ignore us - nothing to see here. Those spires on the horizon are irrelevant, as are the lights in the sky. Look over there, yes at America - another hick has spotted a REAL alien. Nothing here. I think that worked.
  9. I haven't seen the Clone movie, but I agree with you there. Ep 1, they were kinda stupid, and kinda funny. Ep 2 they were alright for the most part, but when they had their stupid moments it was even more so - particularly with 3P0's head replacement. Ep 3 made some great scenes painful - the opening battle, Vulture Droids making stupid sounds and bending and flexing like they were ... I don't even no what. The Buzz Droids acting like drunk bogan children trying to pick a fight and then the battle droids saying stupid crap, like the two who played around with R2. The Battle of the Sink hole planet was littered with equally stupid parts, but not just the droids. Obi-Wan had some stupid lines and that lizard bird thing was plain dumb, as was the bike thing with legs that Grievous had. I really wonder what Lucas is thinking sometimes ... that humour wasn't in the originals, there weren't overly stupid characters trying to get cheap laughs. Even the retarded Ewoks weren't as bad as what he's gone and done. It sound as if the "cartoon" style of the Clone Wars has given him the idea that it's alright to make characters completely stupid. And what's more, even young kids seem to be torn between it being funny and stupid - as demonstrated to me a while back at a friends 21st where her brothers were watching E3, one laughed (you know the one where a kid sees something stupid and just sorta of does short, yelling laughter as if they think this should be funny, lets get everyones attention to show that I know this) and the other lay there with stare that was a mixture of bland and puzzlement.
  10. iTunes, by itself wouldn't be that bad - but it's one of the most bloated pieces of software out there. It installs additional programs in the background (I'd tell you to look up Bonjour, as an example, on wikipedia, but conveniently the criticism section as been edited out - check the history if you want, there's a lot that's been removed), hogs resources (a test a few months ago and one in the office when we got the things found that it was using double the RAM and about about 15% more processing power than WMP, which isn't exactly a stream lined player), doesn't like to "play" with various formats thanks to Apple's DRM crap (but if you stick to MP3s, you should be fine), all the crap you have to fill in just to use it, the fact that without giving it permission it raids your system for information, it constantly does things without asking you etc. etc. I could go on, but I don't want to turn this into a rant ... again Now that I mentioned rants though ... looking into the iPod Touch and iPhone, I can't believe Apple have gotten away again with letting out shoddy products. Apart from the rather long list of product faults I've found, it's part of iTunes to back up the Operating system in case (more like when ) the unit stuffs up and you need to reload the firmware. Maybe I'm going to have to stick with iTunes then for when the thing craps itself. Which, again, occured to a few people the first time they tried to use it or tried to update it. Then there's crap like Apple charging for the latest version of their firmware, which should have been shipped with the damn thing and not the broken excuse that it comes. Oh well, it's still stuck in the box and will be until I find a solution that suits me better. EDIT: Sorry, kinda turned into a rant didn't it
  11. Ok, so I've got an iPod Touch - don't worry though, I havn't lost my mind or moral upstanding as I didn't buy the thing (work gave everyone one for free). So, the thing is, I hate a lot of things about it - infact here's a quick run down: Pros: *Looks pretty *Touch screen is nifty *Thin as all hell *Solid State Hard Drive *Free Cons: *Form over function, see bellow: *Get COVERED in dirt, finger prints and grease. Within 5 minutes of people opening theirs at work the bitching started over the dirt *Userbility isn't exactly as usable as Apple likes you to think. It's not intuative - as an office of 40 (that includes software engineers, programers, directors, artists, office admin) had problems getting the thing to do what they wanted without trying several times *Touch screen gets dirty and is horrible to use with small things (like the "keyboard") *iTunes. I can't stress how I HATE iTunes - but more the other crap that it installs, the bloat and that you can only use that software with the device. Obviously lots of cons. But the crux is, I've got the thing, work surelly would like to see me use it but I want to get rid of one big con - iTunes. Does anyone out there have any idea how to get around iTunes and maybe even some of the other crap. I'm thinking BS might be a good source of info here? Does anyone know about this: Winpwn I also found this image on Wiki, I'd love to turn it into that

  21. Been there, hated that. Current solution is working all day, doing exercises at night, having a chronic illness and vegging out in front of the TV before bed. NEVER watch something thought provoking if you have trouble sleeping (damn you Boston Legal), try to avoid new books. My biggest problem was my brain would start up as I tried to sleep - so, the idea was to shut it down with something mundane. So yeah, I use to have a crazy sleeping pattern. Some nights up till 2 in the morning, others down by 11. Now I got to bed at 10-10:30, read a little and stop because I'm falling asleep
  22. I just saw the frontpage Good work Strat
