  3. Well its not really news Cain, its been out for more then a year... Maybe I'll attach it to the download as a comment.
  4. I have one but its too big to fit on Photobucket...
  5. Well, I'm hoping to actually publish this thing at some point, so I'm only going to post excerts from the story instead of the whole thing, but here's the opening scene for your enjoyment. Star Wars: The Waking Foe With a flash the metallic shape of a starfighter tumbled out of hyperspace. Along it’s sides were a pair of green and white stripes separated by a red triangle, the new combat symbol of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances glinted in the distant light of a blue sun. The fighter banked and rolled the moment it dropped out of hyperspace. Seconds later another fighter flashed into existence behind it. The steel grey craft barrel rolled onto the first craft’s tail, blue practice lasers blazing away in fury. The eight trails of laser fire from the chiss clawcraft followed fast behind the weaving X-wing. With a flash of ignited ion drives the X-wing shot ahead, maneuvering into a barrel roll. The chiss clawcraft easily followed and continued blazing away. Then suddenly the X-wing reversed coming straight back at the fast approaching foe, it fired. The blue hued practice lasers stabbed through space and into the shields of the Chiss Clawcraft and the fighter rolled away with a pair of bright yellow strobes flashing in space. Jaina smiled tightly to herself as she maneuvered her X-wing to come up alongside the clawcraft. Her comm crackled on a moment later, “Good shooting sticks, I see that a couple months of unauthorized leave from the military haven’t tarnished your skills.â€
  6. Well, thanks Evaders, you're a lifesaver.
  7. Luke Skywalker smiled as the golden globe of the world's sun slowly rose above the horizon. Beside him Mara yawned as she leaned against the stone arch which supported the structure. Threepio glanced around the cooridors, his optical receptors glinting in the sun as Artoo sat quietly in the corner. Arien slipped into the space seemingly unoticed in the Imperial Intelligence uniform. Still nothing could fool the two Jedi. "Hello Arien," Mara said quietly as she turned away from the sunrise, "Travel lag is such a load of bantha spit..." Luke nodded, "You can say that again."
  8. Vana Dorja starred at the one way mirror before her and smiled slightly. Slowly the door to her cell slid open and Grand Admiral Oreton stepped into the room, flanked by General Fel and Stent. Vana stood and saluted instantly, "Commodore Dorja, reporting for duty." Oreton stopped and a slight smile slid over his face, "At ease." Slowly Oreton slid into the chair before her and leaned back, "Commodore, I'd like to hear what your imprisonment by the Rapora was like." "I don't remember sir," Vana answered as she sat down across from him. Behind the one way mirror Intelligence Officer Pol Lanning frowned and glanced over at the monitor again. Slowly he leaned over the microphone which allowed him to speak through Admiral Oreton's earpiece, "She's lying sir." "Are you sure." Admiral Oreton asked, just as much to Lanning as to Dorja. Dorja's eyes flicked to the mirror, "Yes sir." "She's definitely lying sir," Lanning replied quietly. Oreton frowned as he glanced back over to Vana and leaned back in his chair. He was deeply disturbed, Vana seemed different, colder more calculating. Whatever had happened to her had burned away any emotional soul to her it seemed. She was a robot, and it frightened him at a psychological level. Oreton stood and stepped toward the door when Vana cleared her throat, "Admiral, when will I be returned to duty sir?" Oreton didn't answer as he stepped through the door and into the corridor. He turned to the lieutenant in charge, "Double your security and inform me who else visits her." "Yes sir," The Lieutenant answered swiftly.
  9. "Good, Commander Ardar," The soft and chilling voice of the Timeless One answered. A slight smile played across his lips, "Contact the local command, I'm certain they have orders for you." * * * Krendar smiled coldly at the face of Rimak Ardar as it appeared, "Excellent to have you here Commander. Your first tasking will the be the escort of six Alaga class dreadnaughts to an assembly center from which they will be join the fleets stationed around Bilbringi and Ord Mantell." A predatory smile slipped over his face, "Be wary of GFFA and UDA units, we believe they may be attempting to lure Vagaari crews into open rebellion. You are in command, if any of the dreadnaughts disobey your commands, destroy them without second thought." Rimak nodded coldly, "I understand."
  10. Captain Krask Clawdar neat before the throne of the Timeless One as two sith acolytes slid into the chamber. Each held before him a glowing red orb, the symbol of their particular order. Clawdar didn't give them a second glance, he knew they were of little importance, just as many of the sith that came here were. Slowly the Timeless One rose, "Ah, I see that you are here. You know of what status our enemy is..." "Yes my lord," The two acolytes responded quietly. "Good, the Chosen One has returned. Spread out your contacts, infiltrate the enemy's camps. Find him, and capture him if you can." The Timeless One's eyes hardened, "And his descendents." "Yes my lord." The two sith bowed and withdrew from the chamber. "Commander Clawdar, I have a mission for you..." "Whatever you will my lord," Krask answered with a smile. "Take a commando team to Zonoma Sekot. Analyze the state of the planet, and report on all the Jedi present on the world." Krask nodded as another smile spread across his lips, "And if the Skywalkers or Solos are there?" "Then do as you see fit."
  11. The Timeless One studied a detailed holographic projection of the galaxy... On it he saw that the galaxy was already tottering on the edge. With the resources of most of the Unknown regions at his command he could smash the opposition before him. He'd already begun to formulate his plan, The forces deployed at Ord Mantell would launch an assault on Garos IV to seperate the GFFA forces from the Empire while another attack would be launched to secure Anobi and Ylix. These would hopefully seperate the 4th fleet from the rest of the GFFA front. He envisioned similar operations elsewhere... The fleet which had knocked Bilbringi out of the war would proceed to attack Garratos and Jagga II before swinging around to completely an envelopment of Vortex and link up with forces from Ord Mantell at Yinchorr. If everything went as planned he could crush two full GFFA fleets and cut the Hydian Way.
  12. Light = Energy and Gravity bends light... The Gravitic shields are more effective against all forms of attack then their conventional counterparts. Well its a pity Photobucket doesn't allow larger pictures cause this would look great full size... The current front line of the Rapora war as of August 4th... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/August4.jpg
  13. Plasma shields? None of the ships we've used use plasma shields. The Raporan forces use extremely powerful ray and particle shields. The Aklasp use gravitic shielding which is extremely effective.
  14. Somehow this book seems to have screwed up a lot of things... What happened to Jag and Danni? Its not like the Solos just up and dump someone out of the blue... I hope the Killik invasion is short, because I'm already working on a Star Wars Novel that will fulfill stated request... Star Wars: The Waking Foe... Get ready for the Rapora Wars!
  15. Come on, work!!! Awesome... now I don't know why its working...
  16. Okay, heres my review... It's kind of short (But the mod doesn't change the mechanics of the game much at all so it doesn't warrant an enormous review like H2: Warlords or OFP: Conquer the Island.) Review Star Wars Rebellion: The Protectorate Modification : Empire Strike Back Star Wars Rebellion is one of the longest surviving games in the Star Wars Universe. It is also among the most difficult acquire and modify. This is quite simply due to the game’s age. It has remained something of a cult classic among Star Wars fans due in part by Lucas Arts failure to create a suitable RTS of similar scope to rebellion. This doesn’t make it without a need for improvement. The Protectorate Modification by Cain is an improvement over the original game in many respects, and is one of two TCs that strive to completely rework the graphics of the original game (The other is Rebellion: Reloaded a old project that remains at this point in the pre-release stages). As a gamer I downloaded Protectorate ESB soon after its release and was once again re-immersed in the complex and ever changing world of Star Wars. The storyline may have been slightly different, but the game play and visual appearance of the game itself were remarkably improved. The artistic renderings of the original game designers had been replaced wherever possible by screenshots from the films, a marked improvement in my opinion. The graphic display of the Galaxy had been replaced by a photo of a real galaxy as well. I also quickly discovered that the AI is markedly more aggressive in the mod. Later experimenting allowed me to figure out why this aggression occurred in game, the reduction in hyperspace travel time and tweaking of both side’s unit costs had produced this effect and I’ve used it as a reference for how to produce my own aggressive AI for my own, much smaller, mods. I’ve come to appreciate the amount of time tweaking the stats required to produce such an effect. Unfortunately there are some things which felt somewhat wrong with the modification. Luke Skywalker doesn’t look like himself and his new appearance is more like a forced combination of an imperial officer image and Darth Vader’s image. The ship cards remain drawings when it would be relatively easy to change a portion of them to screens from the movies. Still these are relatively nitpicky details when compared to the overall size and scope of the changes in the game. Overall it’s an excellent modification, 9/10 (I’ve only ever considered one mod 10/10 and that was Warlords).
  17. Read X-wing Wedge's Gamble. Two Imperial Star Destroyers were captured at Endor. I think they surrendered after the battle (Probably cause they were in Endor's gravity well or something). I don't think they were ever boarded.
  18. Huh? The Y-8 Raptor is an Assault Transport which looks very different from the Sentinel class Landing Craft. What are you talking about?
  19. Thank God that someone remembers close combat!!! Thats actually going to be one of the primary goals I'm going to have with my mod, making it more like that game.
  20. They're going to put the Raptor in? Thats a Zsinj craft not true imp...
  21. Considering that something like 90% of the Canadian Population lives within a hundred miles of the US-Canada border you'd expect them to have summer.
  22. Well its an interesting concept, but I don't feel qualified to review or approve it Cain. I haven't played any of the games which use that engine so I don't know how it would look or play out.
  23. It's begun coming back to me... and the pet peeve (Yes I had a pet peeve about this mod). I absolutely deplored how Luke looked in the mod, so when I installed it I changed Luke's card to something I liked more then a Vader head. Other then that I had no complaints, though like with most everything I would have done a few things different but thats just me. Okay so I'll start working on the review.
  24. I remember this mod... and Cain, technically this isn't a review (I'll do that at a later date, but I'll have to go by memory because I've already got my own mod on my machine.) I was going to ask if you could post both of Luke's images, the Pre-twins/Dagobah and the post-twins/Dagobah.
  25. Impressive, the gods are listening...
