What i am curious about....
Stellar_Magic replied to General Ackbar's topic in EAW General Discussion
Little.B's ship looks like either an Independence Class Cruiser (Home One) or an MC80 Maximus (The only visual difference between the two is size really.) -
A thread for the Rebellion Masters out there...
Stellar_Magic replied to Vader89's topic in Master of Games
The key to the Rebellion is to be aggressive especially if you're playing as the empire. If you can get the Alliance on the run early in the game there's a good chance you can keep them hurting. As the Alliance if you take risks and can hit those garrisoned Imperial worlds early on do so. If you can keep the Empire unbalanced by continual strikes on facilities you can easily win. -
Rapora Wars: Breaking the Vagaari (Subplot RPG)
Stellar_Magic replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in Role Playing - 1
Captain Valinar stood on the bridge as the Savla banked away from their formation to fire on the fleeing dreadnaught. He turned to the helm, "Accelerate to full speed, full axial rotation, present our port to the Savla." Purpsh was already rising from his seat, "Captain?" Valinar didn't even turn, "Commander Advarsh, place Purpsh under arrest. I won't die because of Raporan stupidity." "Treason!" Purpsh belowed as the commander drew a blaster. He reached for the console as though to trigger it when Advarsh fired. The blast caught the vagaari in the back of the neck and pitching him over the console. Advarsh pushed the dead officer aside, "Good thing he didn't hit that. I'd prefer being spaced then poisined." Captain Valinar turned back to his display, "Shields to full!" Already all but one of the Vagaari dreadnaughts were accelerating away from the Raporan ship. The one that remained began firing at the running vessels, failing to persuade them to return to the formation. Valinar shook his head, he was making a gamble but he had no choice, "All port batteries target the Savla's power core. I want that ship disabled." The deck thumped and a volley of green blasts lanced across space and into the side of the Cyclical Death. Its shield's with held all but the last blasts which nicked the power core and disabled the ship's weapons array. A smile appeared on his twin mouths, "Open a channel to Admiral Hirotek, tell him that the Lightning of Vagar is at his command." -
Well I think we need to get some more posting in some of the other threads, specifically the Vaathkree affair. I'd like to end that in a couple weeks so we can free up the Councilor Valar to start making trouble in the Empire.

Rapora Wars: Balance of Empire (Subplot RPG)

Admiral Oreton rubbed his chin as he sat in his study, thinking of the chain of events which had appeared before him. How he'd found himself in this situation, stuck in another great war. The door to his office hissed open and Intelligence Officer Pol Lanning stepped into the room, "Admiral sir?" Oreton nodded slowly to the intelligence officer, "I've read your report, and I was meaning to ask you if you have any suggestions in how to deal with her." The officer furrowed his brow, "Beside a full scale interrogation?" Suddenly his lip twitched, "Malus sir." "Malus?" Admiral Oreton asked blankly, uncertain if it was a term or name. "Colonel Lara Malus sir, she was the security advisor for Admiral Pelleaon during the war with the Vong." "And?" Oreton bekoned him. Pol smiled slightly, "She's force sensitive sir. Well, not just force sensitive but trained, jedi material. How? I don't know, but she is sir." He glanced at the Admiral, "She's very good at mental probing and pulling information from prisoners, perhaps if she was to interview Vana..." Oreton frowned, "You're thinking that the Rapora could have put some sort of force based imprinting on her?" "I don't know sir, we know the Rapora are force sensitive..." "Set things in motion, we'll see if Colonel Malus has better luck." Oreton waved his hand toward the lieutenant and turned back to his desk. Slowly he began to think and ponder what his fleet would do at Garos IV. -
A clan war... thats the last thing we need!
-
Well, it would be equally costly to you, and you have another attack coming which you'll want to defend against. If you commit too much to Garos IV, you won't be able to blunt the other attack
-
The Rapora will win at Garos IV. Cutting off the Empire from the GFFA plays a key part in the Balance of Empire Campaign.

Has anyone got anything? We're getting pretty close to the due date for Short Story entries.

Rapora Wars: Stand Firm (Subplot RPG)
Stellar_Magic replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in Role Playing - 1
With a blur of pseudomotion an enormous force of vessel dropped out of hyperspace, angling toward their preselected targets. The Raporan Fleet under Avarice's command had arrived at Garos IV. Within moments squadrons of Raporan starfighters had launched toward the world as the defenders scrambled to launch their own fighters and capital ships from their moorings. Avarice had ignored conventional wisdom in planning her attack, she'd decided to drop out of hyperspace practically on top of the gravity well generated by the planet. Her ships shot toward the world at full speed, plasma cannons firing like mad. The Mon Calamari Cruiser Mon Loma caught a volley of superheavy plasma shots in the nose as it struggeled to exit its spacedock. It exploded instantly, destroying the dock and puncting a hole in the defenses of the planet. Two more Calamari Cruisers Intrepid and Ithor Remembered managed to exit their docks in time to find themselves facing an X-shaped formation across the space before them. They were cut down before they could engage their foe. The final two GFFA starships, Yuuzhan'tar and Rational Thought Dove away from the Raporan fleet and used the gravity of the planet to hurl them around to the relative safet of the other side where the Imperial forces were gathering. The Rapora did not pursue, instead they began melting the Golan platforms in their way and bombarding the surface, preparing the way for their ground forces. Within moments the Raporan force had begun launching dropships. It would take a matter of moments for the communication to reach Fourth Fleet headquarters and ignite a firestorm and what would happen next would be in Garik Ioor's hands. It was up to him to respond to the attack or concede the system, up to him as to the fate of the Imperial Remnants connection to the GFFA, and with it perhaps the fate of the galaxy. -

How many classes of Mon Cal ship were there?
Stellar_Magic replied to TSKNF's topic in Star Wars Database
I'll list the ones I've heard of. If the name has a * before it, I've only seen it in fansites (With the exception of Warlords which might as well be official). MC-40 Lusla MC-60 Frigate * MC-75 Barracuda MC-80 Maximus subclass MC-80 Maria subclass MC-80 Liberty subclass MC-80a MC-80b Mon Remonda MC-90 Defiance Mediator Cruiser Independence Cruiser (Home One) -
It's not finished, and probably never will be. Soon after I posted the last few times my machine crashed and wiped the TC.

Our ICBMs don't have fins. Maybe the missiles can be used in orbital bombardment.
-
It won't be in this book, and perhaps not even in the second one. I'm trying to set the Rapora up a little differently and draw out the conflict over a longer period of time, perhaps even make the Rapora a permament member of the star wars univers. Admiral Parck leaned back in his command chair, “Indeed, I suppose it is delicious that you ran across our newest foe.â€

Rapora Wars: Stand Firm (Subplot RPG)

Darth Avarice slowly walked around the tactical holographic display which was the main feature of the Vicious Cycle's command center. Before her was the the latest intelligence report from Garos IV, and the disposition of forces had surprised her. The new commander in the area had stripped many ships from the world, clearly to create a rapid response force. Still even with such a strategy she thought Garos IV would be of greater value to the commander. There was a small task force stationed there, centered around the Mediator cruiser Rational Thought and four Mon Calamari Cruisers Intrepid, Yuuzhan'tar, Mon Loma, and Ithor Remembered. It was a force that if alone Avarice was certain she could easily defeat, but the Imperial Remnant had maneuvered reinforcements into Garos IV at the same time the GFFA had removed more of their forces. The lone Imperial III Pelleaon's Hope which had been stationed there had been reinforced by an additional two star destroyers Tyrranic and Fortress of Empire. The Orbital defenses remained in place totalling eighteen Golan III platforms and two Golan Starfighter Bases. Intelligence had also shown that several Imperial and GFFA ground regiments had been deployed and begun joint combat exercises. Avarice glanced at her chrono and smiled, "Six hours." In six hours she'd reach the extreme edge of the system with her task force and show the GFFA and Imperial Remnant what it meant to be on the offensive. Beside her Vareme class supercruiser the attack force included four Kar Lurs, two Vaka's, twelve Savlas, and eighting Defra class ships. In her estimation the battle would be all but bloodless for her forces but she had two reserve forces of equal size standing by in case the GFFA or Imperial Remnant decided to contest their assault. The trick was how to limit imperial casualties. OOC: To join just post in the OOC thread and we'll set you up. -
Rapora Wars: Breaking the Vagaari (Subplot RPG)

Admiral Hirotek furrowed his brow as the ship dropped out of hyperspace. Dead ahead he could see the distant shape of five Vagaari Dreadnaughts and a single Savla class Cruiser. An odd thought occured to him, were the Rapora employing such small convoys for a reason. Surely some would get through to their destination if they were seperated into smaller groups, or perhaps the smaller groups were being used as lures for his forces. He didn't know, but it was time to find out. * * * Captain Gerin Valinar tore himself from his bunk as the contact alert suddenly blared. The white lights overhead flashed to red as he pulled on his uniform and tore off down the hallway toward the bridge. As he ran one of his aids came to his side, "Report?" "Multiple contacts, two Ravager class Star Destroyers, four Defender class star destroyers, and a host of support craft." Gerin Valinar stopped dead in his tracks, "That many?" "Yes sir." -
Still toying with the starting chapter. Tell me what you think of this change. The Replicator was torn at by the barrage of chiss weapons fire. Already the power systems which had been operational began to fail. What shields the battlestation had been able to raise were already collapsing. The girders and equipment which had been used by work crews building the Replicator were torn asunder by the barrage, but the Replicator remained largely intact because of its immense mass. Scarred by the chiss weapons fire the craft’s red brown hull remained unbroken from the assault. Thrawn stood and slowly walked over to the tactical display holo, “Weapons, target power relays and shield generators.â€

Yeah, and if you can't tell the difference... shoot the ships that are shooting at you!

You guys know the announcement said Starship, therefore it won't be a TIE Interceptor or B-wing (They're fighters Duh!) I'd say its probably going to be a light cruiser type ship. Here's some possibilities. Alliance Assault Frigate CC-7700 CC-9600 Carrack Cruiser Strike Cruiser Lancer Frigate Nebulon B2 Frigate Modified Corvette Super Star Destroyer Titan Cruiser Tyrant Missile Cruiser
