  1. Sorry guys, its still only available if you buy it. Lucasarts just produced a whole bunch more disks of the game and are selling them.
  2. Another question I have is would it be possible to build formations of units with multiple types of soldiers in them. I'd like to be able to build squads of stormtroopers where there are a couple guys with repeating blasters but most have just normal blasters.
  3. Good to see you Delphi, I keep telling them I don't know cause I haven't seen the way the game is set up... Okay, here's an alternative... In build mode you have the option of building Highly Trained, Trained, and Untrained versions of unit... Trained and Highly Trained cost more and take longer to build then Untrained units as well being more expensive. They'll also fire farther, see farther, and aim better then the basic run of the mill troops. There is an accuracy parameter, right Delphi? If there's minimum and maximum range values as well as the ability to script in multiple weapons we could also trick the game into having troops seem to have an AI for determining what manner to engage the enemy in. Say at 100-50 meters the stormies fire single shots (Most Accurate) 50-25 meters they fire three shot bursts (Mid Accuracy) 25-0 They fire their weapons at full auto (Least Accuracy) Hopefully we'll also be able to script in the use of grenades and thermal detonators by soldiers.
  4. I've been considering it, but I'd want it to be a difficult bunch of technology to use and almost prohibitively expensive. Of course once you got the factories built... "Activate the droids..."
  5. Yeah, I am, but we really haven't started to work on it since we don't know everything we'll want to fix yet or how much room we have to maneuver. We'll have to see the scripting and coding in the game first.
  6. Um, I'd hate to point this out, but we've already seen the TIE/In in the trailers. This is the TIE/In aka TIE Fighter http://www.swrebellion.com/cards/rebellion/if%20tie%20fighter%20squadron_s.jpg This is the TIE Interceptor http://www.swrebellion.com/cards/rebellion/if%20tie%20interceptor%20squadron_s.jpg I know it seems confusing, but its the truth.
  7. I suppose the aim will be with that to strike a balance between appearance and playability...
  8. I agree with your assesment JI, but once again I'd like to see how much room to maneuver we're given in the game's coding before deciding anything.
  9. Did someone call? Juggy, while I admire your decision to push forward on the modeling of your additional units already, I have to wonder how many of those models will work in game. Have you guys discussed the manner in which the ship's break up or how the models in the original version of the game appear to work. It's possible that all the damage edges and so forth we've seen will have to be placed on the model during its construction. Thats among the many reasons I'm at least waiting for the demo to decide what exactly to do for my modification.
  10. Hopefully JI is right in that we'll be able to add and change everything the designers were able to. If thats the case it should be relatively (From a scripting standpoint) to create a veterancy system. In order to know that however, we've got to get a good look at the code and scripting. I personally would like to have a dynamic system where Experience is represented almost like another healthbar and the number of experience points a unit has the better its performance will be. This could probably be set up by a simple equation.
  11. You're talking about the Quasar Fire Class Carrier Flurry. They're built by SoroSuub which is based out of Sullust. Yeah, I agree. Super Star Destroyer seems more like a slang term for the larger ships then anything else. Of course LEC's lack of guidance on naming conventions has only helped muddy the waters. Here's another partial list, this time for ships smaller then capital ships. 12. Well, I'm a fan of the three demigods of Sci Fi (In my opinion they're the Demigods): Isaac Asimov Arthur C. Clarke H. G. Wells You've got to love em.
  13. Well darn, It seems I'll have something massive to mod.
  14. I guess we'll just have to mod it so that Planetary Bombardment and "Realisitic" Shielding is in the game...
  15. Home One is an Independence Class Cruiser.
  16. We're waiting to get a look at the game's file system before jumping in and launching the mod. Even then I know we'll have to recruit, hopefully we'll be able to get access to EvilleJedi's excellent ship models for Homeworld 2 and convert them to something we can use in EAW. I've also compiled a list of known ships and their manufacturing corporations. I've found that if we do the mod as I've suggested the possession of three worlds will be of extreme strategic and military importance for the production of starships: Kuat, Corellia, and Mon Calamari. At game start (If the starting locations aren't random) I'd advocate utilizing the historical affiliation of each. Mon Calamari (Rebel), Corellia (Neutral), and Kuat (Imperial). This will promote the historical production and use of vessels by both sides at the start of the game but it will not exclude the possession of vehicles to one side or another. You'll also notice a number of smaller manufacturers such as SoroSuub and Sienar Fleet Systems which produce products besides capital ships (Like TIEs and Blasters) as well as secondary manufacturers like Loronar Consolidated Shipworks, Republic Engineering Corporation, and Rendili Stardrive which produce only a few types of ships, but these few types are highly useful and therefore prized. 17. Well its not Canon per say but in the game X-wing Alliance (When you play through the battle of Endor) there is no Home One, just Independence.
  18. Actually the Mon Calamari Cruiser Independence is "Home One". "Home One" is just a callsign utilized at Endor much the same way as "Gold Leader" is the Millenium Falcon and "Red Leader" is Rogue One. I recognize they make up names on much of their vessels, but I think they're pretty valid for describing the ships considering that LEC has so much in the canon which isn't given any names.
  19. I think Evillejedi's explanation of the ship classes is the most logical explanation and sorting of the different classes of Mon Cal Cruisers. What We've seen in the screenshots for Mon Cal Cruisers: MC-80 Liberty Class Cruiser Armament: 40 Turbolasers 30 Ion Cannons Length: 1200 meters Independence Class Cruiser (aka Home One) Armament: 16 Turbolasers Length: 3900 None of the ships in any of the films are part of the MC-80a or of the MC-80b. All we see in the films are the Independence Class, MC-80 Liberty Class, MC-80 Marius Class, and maybe the MC-80 Maximus Class.
  20. Well since X-wings were only just developed and B-wings aren't in we won't see Deathseeds since they incorporate parts from both ships.
  21. 16 Turbolasers on the Home One up against 60+ on and ISD... Actually Home One isn't the name of the ship at all, its the ship's call sign. The ship's name is the Independence.
  22. Realistic damage means a damage system where that a single shot in the chest from a blaster will be an instant kill / incapacitation.
  23. No, you can PM him here on these forums. He's a member of the community here. I think he's also posted his email address, just do a search for his account.
  24. Actually with the set up I've proposed there may be many times that you can't accomplish a mission and will have to abort. You might suffer a lack of prestige or maybe even a demotion (Especially if you're playing as an Imperial) but you won't be forced to retry a mission again and again. Though if the mission you couldn't accomplish is critical enough it might come back to bite you in the but. Imagine if the rebels never succeeded in obtaining the Death Star plans!
  25. I posted this earlier in the Star Wars: Rebellion Forums and got some interesting responses.
