Hey, yeah! That means I'm only four more posts from my next rank!
-
That might work, but personally I'd be expecting a trap right off the bat. I'd send a heavy spec forces team to investigate the system first, and then sabotage a few shipyards and/or a defending capital ship or two before blindly jumping in-system. I'd also jump to a friendly or neutral system nearby first, minimizing the likelyhood that they'd have advance warning of my arrival. My favorite tactic is to rename ships in construction by increasing or decreasing their number. For example, "Nebulon-B Frigate 2" may become "Nebulon-B Frigate 6" if I want my opponent to think that I have a much larger fleet than I really do. Conversely, if I have a large fleet and want to lure my opponent into making a misjudgement of my fleet strength, "Nebulon-B Frigate 12" may become "Nebulon-B Frigate 5". I've also made it a point to select 3-4 ships of the same class, put them in different sectors, and cycle 3-6 names amongst them every 10-20 days. It confuses your opponent into thinking that you have more ships than you really have, and that you're moving them around more than you really are.

I never played SotN, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. My favorite of the series will always remain Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, mainly because it inspired some memorable music, but also because it allowed for the revisiting of certain areas. Anyone who has played any of the games in the series owes it to themselves to check out the above link. Good Charlotte - Livestyles of the Rich and the Famous

Man, you're quite the cosmopolitan, eh Trej? It'd be infinitely cool to be able to afford to study abroad like that. Ah, sounds like the line of automobiles heading south on IH-35 for South Padre Island every March... Hmm...I've never run across that one. Which forum is it under? Yeah, we had some locals in El Salvador that were hired to do our laundry. The Maras...um...'executed' them for 'helping' the "American Capitalist Dogs" (that was the graffitti they left behind), and then they attacked a U.S. Marine camp that was tasked with building a new school. Real geniuses, there.
-
Done. Thanks, Trej. WHOOT!! 1.0 posts per day! Now to just get it so that my post count is 1% of the total rather than 0.92%...
-
Nah, they'd just want to take the design for their own, contract it out, and then cancel it in a 'cost cutting' move after billions of $ has been spent on it.
-
Well, I didn't say they were sane, only that they were issuing lawsuits. This 14 year old girl got off with a $3000 fine, and now is a spokesperson for Pepsi and their I-Tunes gig. Jahled: Yeah, it sucks trying to find music via a modem. I've done most of my searching from work, whereupon I burn it to a CD to take home. Trej: I've heard that they've been trying to bear down on that kind of piracy though. There was a big bust in China last week, I'd heard.

I'm looking forward to going back sometime. As for Spongebob...Rodger that. No, thank God, and I don't plan on experiencing it anytime soon! Gotta keep away from rush hour... Gotcha! Now to get Slave 1 prepped... You hear that, Mr. Lucas/Mask? Give us the sourcecode and no-one gets hurt! Actually, the rain gave us a reprieve from the oppressive heat and humidity. Oh, yeah. The Maras. They gave us fits in El Salvador. Not pretty.

Censored by Texas_Fett You can go about your business...move along!

Yeah, those RIAA lawsuits are happening over here, too, as you probably well know. They've even targetted 11-14 year olds. Now, while I can see their point and their legal shenanigans have made me uninstall Kazaa!, Napster, etc., I retain my collection of music. In fact, it's made me patronize more sites that DO offer their musical content for free...although I guess that wouldn't exactly make me a 'patron', now would it? Still, I haven't bought a new music CD in about 2 years, mostly as a personal protest against the RIAA and the crapola they've attempted to pass off as music these days.

Seven more posts to go...statisically speaking.
-
Tried that, but they tend to look at you funny in the interview when you keep passing your hand in front of their eyes and saying, "my application WILL suffice nicely!".
-
0.97...I'm hoping for 1.0 by the time I leave today.

LMAO!! I really need to watch more Spongebob. Would now be a bad time to mention that I actually had a blast reading and analyzing "Beowulf"? No, Spangdahlem is a small village near Bitburg & Trier in Germany. It sits on the side of a hill, with an Air Force base atop it, conveniently sporting the same name. Oh, no joke! I'd never seen anyone pull out in front of a speeding bus with only a carlength between them before driving in El Salvador. But yes, on a whole, drivers in El Salvador and Guatemala are exponentially crazier drivers than ones here. Unless you count Houston. {shiver} They practice "Offensive Driving" in Houston... [Fett_voice]As you wish...[/Fett_voice] And I'll be the point of the Mandalorian beachhead. You have no idea. Out only consolation was that we were there during the rainy season, and it poured on us every afternoon. If you think they were spooked, you should've seen the local Guatemalan garisson! They sure do like to wave around those Tek-9's, too. I'll have to take your word about Costa Rica. My only experience with your fine nation has been as a backdrop for the Jurassic Park movies.
-
I, regretfully, have no such bright spot on my horizon. However, if I manage to get my commission the Air Force, that WILL change.
-
I'm all for it! I'm now up to .96 posts per day!
-
It's a done deal...just as soon as I get a cable modem myself. The only time I've played multiplayer has been via a LAN. Oh, and once via my modem.
-
Hey, all I have to fall back on are basic kiddie songs taught to me in the 4th-6th grade when I lived in Spangdahlem. So yeah, this tape is pretty basic. And the second reason would be the way y'all drive down there. I've never been so afraid for my life, and I was driving a Humvee! Oh, WELL. In that case, I'm all for it. "Mr. Lucas? I'm ready for my "Jar-Jar dismemberment scene, now..." Aw, geez, it's been years since I last saw it. I'll give it a look again sometime between now and this weekend and report back. As for a "Jar-Jar Documentary", only so long as the last scene details his horrible death at the hands of Star Wars purists. No kidding! I was part of the task force helping with the cleanup following Hurricane Mitch (1999). Guess where they set up our base camp? Right at the mouth of the Motagua River in Puerto Barrios. Ew. Nearly had a run-in with some guerillas from Honduras that deployment, too, as we were innoculating some horses on a farm only 2 miles from the border. My NCOIC got hurt, and the Blackhawk that came in to medevac him stirred up a nest of 'em. That'll give you a permanent pucker, let me tell you.

I agree with the Trej-meister. Nothing like efficiency spamming. Well, aside from the fact that I named it "Jeopardy Loser", you got it all right! Well, that along with the "Amish Paradise", "Smells Like Nirvana", the "I Can't Watch This", the "Eat It" and the "Polka Your Eyes Out". Oh, and the "Triggerhappy".

Not that I'm aware of. His site merely links to Fileplanet, which is the entity hosting the tracks. Sure, you'll need a Gamespy ID, but otherwise it appears kosher. Besides that, the soundtracks for all but the most recent games are out of print, so you're out of luck finding them anywhere else. He's also been up for more than three years, and would've been shut down LONG before now if he was doin' anything shady. But then again, that's my completely unprofessional, non-lawyer-y explanation. Evanders, if this is too much of a 'grey area', let me know and I'll delete the post.
-
Or...{ahem}...begun, these 'Spam Wars' have....
-
Sorry bud. Well, no...but there is a "Crazy Santa". Aw, c'mon Trej! Gimme a little credit! Like I'd play as the Empire.
-
"Bloody Tears" -Castlevania New Classic mp3 from here. Gotta love Castlevania! The 'New Classic' is a compilation of arranged versions of the music form this epic series. The "Castlevania Battle" soundtracks are heavy metal versions that are not to be missed, either! Ahem. Post Count +1

Many thanks, Jahled. I couldn't have done it without ya. See ya there.

You know, I've had a similar experience repeating phrases that the lady on the instructional tape in my car tells me to repeat. I also tend to get some funny looks from other drivers... Similar troubles for me at the local university a couple of years ago. That's why I wait to use the partial T-1 line here at work. Now don't EVEN get me started on the parking, or lack thereof... There have been many times in the winter when I've carted my PC across town for a LAN game...of course, winters in South-Central Texas aren't half as bad as those in Southern Germany, but...Ah fheel yahr pahyne. As for the early risers, yeah they were that crazy. But there they were. I'd get in at 7:30 and they'd tell me that they'd been there for two-and-a-half hours already. You're kidding. You know, my brother-in-law is 'anal-retentive' like that... Waitasec...your solution to the situation is to give me a cameo with Star Wars Kid?!? Um...thanks, but no thanks. Mask, I have a copy of that documentary. It's OLD, and not the best condition, but I DO have one. A "Jar-Jar" documentary must NOT see the light of day. This evil must be stopped, before it can be unleased upon the unsuspecting world. Hey, after having been to both Guatemala and El Salvador with the Army Reserves, I'm convinced I could have a very comfortable retirement in either place, provided I don't mind the guerillas or the raw sewage in the river.
