  1. Ok, I was going through my SWCCG cards today (looking for characters for the RPG) and I noticed some things. First, what the bloody hell did they do with the rank insignia in the first movie? There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the ranks, and people with the same rank have different insignia! They are also quite different from the insignia in the last two movies. Also in the insignia topic, did anyone notice that in RoTJ ALL of the Imperial officers have the same rank! Even Piett and Jerjerrod are ranked as Commander (The only distinction between Commander and Lietenant-Commander is that LT has the rank insignia on his right rather than left side). There may be one or two sceens where this is different for Piett, but I didn't notice any. The uniforms in ANH are strange too. There are those with green (not the blue/green of the last two, but a mossy green), which belong to the fleet officers, then there are the black uniforms for the TIE Pilot officers, then there is the uniform of Colonel Wullf Yularen. It's white! So, does the Imperial Security Bureau use the white uniform also? Or perhaps we should just disregard the uniforms from the first movie all together? The only uniform that fits those from ESB and RoTJ is that of Grand Moff Tarkin. Any thoughts? Here is Colonel Wullf Yularen: http://galactic-voyage.com/images/Characters/Colonel%20Wullf%20Yularen.jpg
  2. There may also have been a lot of people from the Corperate Sector who joind the Peace Brigade.
  3. The CS wasn't really mentioned that much though. Most authors tend to forget its there, only having it mentioned in passing in an obscure conversation every now-and-then.
  4. OOC: I had no plans for the Chimaera, I just thought I'd mention her since she was the secondary command ship of the fleet at Endor... oh and because of her ties to Thrawn of course. The only problem is, I had Thrawn... er, myself being brought back from the outerrim for the first time by Parck, while you have me as a Captain. I'll work around that somehow. As for the Inexorable, I'll leaver her alone as well. I'll choose a differend ISD for my work, maybe even keep with the Strikefast. IC: The Lambda-Class shuttle made it's descent towards the mass of spires and turrets that was the Imperial Palace. In the distance the silouettes of TIE Fighters could be seen swerving through the kilometer-high towers that made up Coruscant's skyline. Below on landingpad one the red forms of Royal Guards waited in rows along the catwalk. As the shuttle touched down, Thrawn could see that there was an officer standing at the end of those rows. The officer was not, however, wearing the standard grey/green uniform of the Imperial Navy. His uniform was pure white and well pressed. The rank insignia on the left of the uniform showed the man to be a Colonel. "I'm not sure what this is about," Parck said, eyeing the Chiss to his right, "but I suggest you let me do the talking. Most people here are not fond of aliens." With that the captain rose and descended the shuttle's ramp, leaving Thrawn to catch up. As they strode down the catwalk the Royal Guards fell silently into position behind them. Whether they were there as an honour guard or security Thrawn couldn't tell. Parck stopped before the colonel, but before he could say anything the man stepped past Captain Parck and approached Thrawn. "I take it your Thrawn?" "I am." "We'll see about that. I am Colonel Wullf Yularen of the Imperial Security Bureau. There seems to be a little discrepansy about who the real Thrawn is. Follow me." Without waiting for a response Yularen spun crisply on one heal and entered the Palace proper. Rather than take the main corridors, which would only lead to the public areas of the Palace, Yularen took them into the security passages and to a well guarded turbolift. "This lift will take you to the Emperor's audience chamber. Once there you will be filled in on all the pertinent information." The colonel pushed a button on the control pannel and the door to the turbolift slid open. Not waiting for an invitation Parck and Thrawn stepped in. The lift began immediately to speed upward. The ride was short as both men barely had enough time to turn around when the doors opened once again. The room before them was wide, it's ceilings fading into darkness above. There were no windows, the only light comming from the glow pannels spaced every hundred meters or so along the walls. Before them was a dias upon which an imposing throne sat. Upon that throne sat a small, hunched figure. Both men took a tentative step into the room, feeling the sudden urge to turn back around and leave. As if reading their minds, the door behind them slammed shut, the sound of the turbolift fading away. Seeing that their only option was to continue, they walked towards the dias and kneeled before the Emperor. "So you are the alien that Captain Parck has insisted Imperial Command accept into their ranks? I can sense that you have much ability within you, but are you the true you?" Parck shot Thrawn a questioning glance. Apparently the Emperor saw it. "There is an imposter in our midst. Long ago the one known as Thrawn was brought back from the Unknown regions, claiming that he was a tactical geniouse. Now this captain claims the same thing. Normally there would be an inquery into the situation, but that is not needed in this case. I can sense the truth, I see who you are." The Emperor turned and sat on his throne. "The imposter has been recalled to Coruscan. He will be brought down from his command on the Inexorable and... dealt with. You will be assigned to the Judicator, without formal training. Should you fail Captain Thrawn, you will be dealt with as your imposter will be." With that the men were dismissed, each sent to their commands. OOC: I know that the last part is a little weak, but it was the best way to get back to the RPG.
  5. There really isn't much there other than smugglers and scum. I'm sure that, had the Vong won, they would have had little trouble conquering it.
  6. OOC: Just read Trej's post... didn't realize that Thrawn was already in this... very disconcerning.
  7. True. Maybe there will be less crime now that they've been dealt with?
  8. I had the same problem with the code. Plus, since I live in Canada, i doubt i'm eligable.
  9. If you look at the maps that are in the NJO books, it shows that the Vong passed right by the Corperate Sector. Since they eventually attacked the Empire, it is likely that they did the same in the CS. Heck, they even took out the Hutts!
  10. Aye, it's more likely that humans were slaves of sorts and after this all-encompassing race destroyed its-self, they were there to pick up the pieces.
  11. They're not very smart either. Rodians take follow the leader to an extreem.
  12. I know that Techno seems like something in the past, but Europe is always ahead in trends for some reason. Heck, they're even ahead in tech! Trust me, if it's big here, it was so last year in europe.
  13. Remeber the trouble Luke and Mara had taking out that droidieka on the dreadnaught in Survivors Quest.
  14. True. It wouldn't be like us to go completely off topic.
  15. The Victory-Class Star Destroyer Strikefast drifted through the crowded space above the planet of Coruscant. It had arrived an hour before and sent a message to Imperial Naval Command that a meeting with Admiral Motti needed to be arranged. Thrawn stood at the viewport at the frond of the bridge, closely inspecting each ship. Parck noticed that his stare had been holding on one in particular. "That's the Chimaera. Apart from the Strikefast she has the best crew in the fleet. In the chance that Lord Vaders personal ship is absent, she is designated as the flag-ship of the fleet." "She seems to be a larger ship than the Strikefast captain." Parck's eyes tightened. "aye, she is. She and Imperial- Class Star Destroyer. The shipyards at Kuat have been building those non-stop. The surprising thing is, we still have pleanty of well-trained crewers for them. There are even some more up-to-date ISD IIs. You'll have a chance to see them once we orbit to the other side of the planet." As if on cue, the shapes of six more Star Destroyers became visable. "The Accuser, Judicator, Avenger, Thunderflare, and the Visage. Lord Vaders "Death Squadron". The Chimaera is a part of it as well, though she has been assigned her own operations for the time being. The only ship missing is the Dominator, though there is word it is being replaced with something bigger... much bigger." There was a tone from the communications station in the port-side command pit. The communications officer spoke quickley into his mic and turned toward Parck. "Sir, Admiral Motti is out-of-system with Grand Moff Tarkin," the comm officer blanched before continuing, "you've been directed to land your shuttle at the number-one landing pad at the Imperial Palace. You have an audience with the Emperor."
  16. That was always the challenge of Rebellion. Do you throw everything together and win all of the battles, but risk your planets in the process, or do you build multiple small fleets and risk being overwhelmed at any given time.
  17. You mean, we should ramble off topic just to keep the thread going? Or should we some how get it back on track?
  18. They were probably as tired of fighting as the NR. And even though it seems like a lot of ships, the NR, even though its military was sort of in a shambles, was still superior at the time. I think it is more likely that the Empire will be an ally. Maybe the Trade Federation will come back, or one of the small secular groups from the early novels?
  19. I think I've heard that too. Remeber, the only way to get sunlight is through an elaborate system of mirors (at least it was before the vong came), and water has to be mined from the polar regions.
  20. Could be worse, it could be a "Slave Leia" club
  21. Most likely. LA is very protective of all of thier games, and any game that is based upon one of thiers that has the ability to make profit would undoubtedly fall into that category. Because it would infringe upon their copyrights, the game would technically be thier property, despite the fact that they had no hand in its creation, and thus can do with it as they please. I would suggest making it free and then if it is popular, contact LA and see if you could make arrangements for a joint venture. This has been done with CS and DoD, though Sierra is more flexable with thier products than LA...
  22. That's probably why it hasn't reached NA yet. Techno is pretty much only in dance clubs. I think we'll see it in about two years, as that is how far ahead Europe is from us.
  23. They wouldn't just want some of the money, they would want all of it, and then some of yours that they would get through the legal system, and then they would take the game and turn around and sell it...
  24. But if you DID create a Pallaeon Club, we could all get together and dress up as out avatars! That might be a little hard for you though Mad
  25. I respect that Mr. Saxton has put a lot of time into this, but these technical commentaries are simply his view of the way the Imperail navy is built and, if you examin all of the other materials available you will find that his views actually contradict what one can ascertain from LucasFilm sanctioned material. I suggest you read the fine-print at the bottom. I suppose that this is pointless in the end. It is your mod and you will do it as you wish, as is your right. AND I will enjoy it whether you use Mr. Saxtons views or those that I consider more accurate. The bottom line is, the mod rocks, hands down, and if the ISD isn't a BB, it still rocks, I'm just arguing over a matter of Imperial pride I suppose. P.S.: I also think that you should consider why he changed the name from Imperial to Imperator. To me, that fact alone would discredit him.
