  1. It adds sort of realism. You don't see these clustered stars that represent you holdings, all you see is the galaxy. It allows you to become more familliar with your empire... or rebellion. Other than that, I've go no bloody clue.
  2. I'd ask them to make another one! Updated graphics, some gameplay changes, ground battles... it could be the ultimate SW game!
  3. Just push print screen and then paste them into an pic program... I usually just get a black screen though.
  4. Detection Rating: this only determines if a mission if foiled. Combat rating determines if the enemy unit is captured/killed. Question 2: If a unit foils a mission other charaters will generally affect whether or not the foiled unit is captured/destroyed. Again, this is based on combat rating. Also, the more troops there are at a location the greater the chance enemy units will be foiled/captured/ destroyed. Question 3: It really doesn't matter. It is best to place a high leadership general with 10-12 troops with the highest detection rating. This will greatly increase your chances of capturing and foiling enemys. The only other way to increase this chance is to place a Jedi on the same planet. Special Forces: Unless they are on an espionage mission, no.
  5. I'm sure Admiral Antilliles would have gotten to the question sooner or later . What other types of books are you reading. Add the name of the book(s) since I can't put that in the poll Personally, I read Fantacy. I'm reading a book series called the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Great series if not a little bit violent... maybe that's what is so good about it. You can only get it in Canada right now but it's comming out in the U.S. soon. It's written by one Steven Erikson. http://www.malazanempire.com
  6. There's book about a guy named Thrawn , I thought I was being original! The Thrawn books were the first Star Wars book I read so I like them the best.
  7. Popular if not a little off topic
  8. @Scathane: Yup, still works even if you take command. It is also a good idea to have Admirals/Commanders on a ship should you decide a battle is not worth taking command. @Jahled: That sucks man
  9. They increase the performance of you ships. They habe greater weapons recharge, become more maneuverable, and a bit faster. Sheild recharge is faster too.
  10. Honestly, I don't think he'd mind. In any case, there's no way to contact him to ask and he's probably forgotten all about it. If any one wan't to attempt to make changes, I say go for it!
  11. The computer is, fortunately, not very intelligent and so: 1. I leave my command ship (generally the largest ship in the fleet. It has My Admiral/General?Commander aboard) at the rear with one or two escort ships and usually a squadron of fighters. 2. I send my light ships/blockade-runners forward to directly engage fighters/capitol ships. I also send one squadron of fighter-to-fighter... fighters into the frey. 3. I send a quarter of my large ships left, right up and down. 4. The ships from left and right move in on the enemy fleet while those above and below flank them to prevent retreat (my interdictor also helps with this). 5. I send bombers after thier interdictor should things turn ugly. If they don't have one I target thier command ship. 6. I'll some times send in my command ship if there is no danger to my leaders. This usually works but on occasion the computer counters.
  12. There were rumors of a v0.27 but nothing ever materialized. There were also some programmers in the community that were going to make one but that, too, lead to nothing.
  13. @ SOCL: I WAS a member, just lost interest @Scathane: We've tried over the years to make contact with him again to no avail. We wanted to make some changes to RebEd.
  14. Well, there is Newfoundland.
  15. Wow , it seems no matter who you meet from Canada, they're ALMOST always from, or originally from, or have family in, Ontario.
  16. I believe that can be confirmed. However, changing the ships really isn't much use. If want a specific ship in the beginning, just make the research 0.
  17. IN my spare time (oh, how much of it I have) I've been reading some of the old posts here. I've missed much... but those who dwell on the past seldom see the future when it hits them
  18. That is one of the greatest .gifs I've ver seen!
  19. Lol, I think I fixed that problem. After Evaders locked taht forum I just never really bothered to sign-up here. It's too bat thought, I missed out on lots. I think that the same thing happened to all the others... I even lost my apprentice
  20. Just in case some one is interested in viewing the old message board, I happened to stumble uppon it http://pub40.ezboard.com/fstarwarsrebelliongeneraldisucssion You can't post there but you can see all of the old members, my old avatar, my old signature and picture. 21. Canada here... am I the only Canadain Imperial?!
  22. Here is a little bit of blue milk info http://www.decipher.com/starwars/cardlists/anewhope/light/images/bluemilk.gif
  23. An interesting point colonel... dang it, I've got a craving for KFC
  24. Another problem is that only one side can have a Death Star. I tried giving it to the Rebels once and the Imperials still had contol over it in the battles but the rebels paid for it , a good tactic against a friend if you don't tell them
  25. It may not actually be from the movie , I played the SWCCG and it was a card in there. I'll look into it
