  1. My store only recieved four (4) systems total, and all of them were the delux, or whatever, version priced at $499. My local EB had 38 pre-orders, but only recieved 12 systems. The ironic part is that most of the systems in my city were grabbed by places like Micro Play and Blockbuster to rent out. Very few actual consumers managed to nab one.
  2. No, I wasn't so fortunate. Let's just say that I have moved twice in the past fourty-eight hours.
  3. Yup, still planning on it though it will probably be some time in the summer. Some unexpected things have happened that have forced me to move my planns back a little.
  4. I wish I had known about the zoom function before I placed my marker. I'm about 100km south of where I live.
  5. Yup, I saw your Halloween pictures, and they were pretty cool. Iwas referring more to the Star Wars guys on a forum with a crush type of underground followers .
  6. Hmm, I can see that DC will suddenly have an underground following of Star Wars paleontologists .
  7. I'm in my nice home town of Peterborough Ontario, Canada. Not too much happens here, and that's the way I like it .
  8. Alas, I can't get this to work. My DVD player will just change the sound options when I hit "1138". I'll have to try it on another DVD player.
  9. Gentlement, this isn't the place for childish bickering. If you want to argue over a frivolous topic please do so using PMs instead of wasting time here on the boards.
  10. That's right, but usually you can't start off as the hero. you have to kill people to gain points. At some point you will be given the option to spawn as the hero character. The exception to this rule seems to be the Kamino mission, where you can play as Boba Fett all the way through.
  11. The Hero unit you can play as depends on your side and which planet you fight on. For example, Kashyyk allows you to play as Master Yoda. Basically, if you see them get killed by clones in Revenge of the Sith you can play as them on their respective planets. In some instances you aren't playing as a Jedi though. Kamino allows you to play as Boba Fett, and I'm guessing as Jango for the Clone Wars. I think my expectations for computer games are dropping. Even though this game is missing alot that could have been there, it is my favourite FPS at the moment.
  12. With regards to the Star Destroyer, changes were made for gameplay reasons, and although it might not make sense to us harcore Star Wars fans, it's best that they made those changes. You'll find that the critical system layout for the Star Destroyer is the same as the Moncal. It may not be accurate but it's for the best. For the Jedi, I had thought you were talking Jedi vs. Non-Jedi combat. While it may be annoying to be stunned by choke, the game wasn't intended to be Jedi vs. Jedi. Your powers are to help you rack up kills against the general trooper population. Also, you might try moving around alot and using force pull if your particular hero has it. From the games I played over the weekend online, I have determined that the Jedi simply need to be more creative than running right at the Sith characters. I've never really had any problem avoiding choke or force pushing them and then killing them while they're stunned.
  13. See, that's the kind of cool stuff that every one wants to be able to do! Just think of the great stories you could tell people! "Yeah, we got another Allosaurus skull cast that was damaged. I'm telling you, if there's a crack or chip in any part of the next dinosaur we get I will flip!" Is there some sort of club I can join to have casts of dinosaur parts sent to me? What exactly do you do at these meetings? Sadly I rely on Jurassic Park for most of my dinosaur knowledge, so anything from an expert would be nice.
  14. I'm just wondering what class most people play as. It's strange, I hated the gun the Dark Trooper had in Battlefront I, but I play as the Engineers almost all the time now and they have the same weapon. It's fantastic! As I play the game I like it more and more. It's not the best of its class, but it is good. There are still some things I'd like to see improved.
  15. That's what it was, thanks Tofu . It's been so long since I've played I had forgotten.
  16. If I'm not mistaken the Mon Cal regiments are specifically designed to be a defensive powerhouse, not unile the War Droid regiments the Empire has. By the time the Rebellion can throw Mon Cals at you you should have switched to Dark Trooper regimetns for planetary assaults.
  17. I've played the game a little more and I honestly feel that it is a slight improvement over the original. There is a balance issue with the hero units, however I would tend to dissagree with Aenivae on why. The Push/Pull that the Jedi have has the same effect as choke: it stunns the enemy and lests you kick his butt. My qualm is with the heroes that use blasters. I'm sorry, but they're useless and don't add anything to the game. There are some issues with unit balance. The Clone Officer is overpowered. The Imperial Officer is underpowered. The Dark Trooper is better than it was, but friendly fire is now a serious issue, as is the rate of fire. Map size seems to have improved somewhat. but it's really hard to tell. Sometimes the vehicles move so fast you can get across a level in no time, but if you're in a tank be prepared for a slow progression. The fact that many of the levels box you in also makes it hard to tell. They certainly aren't Battlefield 2 maps, but then Battlefront aims for a slightly different style. I've changed my mind somewhat on space combat. It's alright. Really my only qualm is with the auto-turrets. These things could pick you off half way accross the map and hit you every time. This means you have to first focus on the frigates then land and take out their turret defences. I like the idea of player controled turrets, but the auto-turrets are just annoying.
  18. It's good to see you again DC! There was a thread that pretty much turned into one about how much we also missed you. Your absence hasn't been due to anything negative I hope. I also hope you'll be back for a while .
  19. You should be able to restore the defaults for a character under their encyclopedia settings. To get the stats back to normal you'll have to reset all, which will unfortunately reset any other cards you have loaded to the default stats.
  20. Well, I had about 15 games from my PC and PS2 that I didn't play anymore, so I traded them in and spent $51 of the $103 in credit on Battlefront II. It's alright I guess, definitely different than the first. I haven't had time to look at many of the maps, so they may still be a little on the small side. Space combat isn't what it could have been IMO.
  21. I would suggest simply editing the images yourself. ReBed has a bad habbit of loading a poor-quality version of the Rebel/Imperial images when you auto-generate them. I know this would be more work, but it would ensure you get a better quality image.
  22. Well, you not only need Star Wars toys, but you also need 600+ Euros to buy the program to begin with, hehe. It looks interesting and I'd like to see if it really works.
  23. This certainly raises my hopes for this game. The inclusion of over 80 planets expands the possibilities. Howver, what will keep Rebellion head of EaW for me is the micro-management. From what I have seen of EaW the planets will operate much in the same way the planets operated in Battlefront. You can simply choose what planet to attack but it has no real bearing on your game.
  24. Which ship is that Mad? It looks like a Nebulon-B 2 or something. If it's from the EU that would explain why I don't recognise it though, I tend to ignore the descriptions and make up my own appearances in my mind . EDIT:Never mind, I just read the first part of your post. I tend to gravitate towards pictures and then text when I'm reading posts. Now that I acutally know what it is, looks good Mad .
  25. I think he was talking about the use of the word "insuperior". I guess it's something Br. Bush would say.
