  1. ROFL Sorry, it's sometimes hard to remember, that not everyone knows his way with modelling programs. I always realize that, when I look into the wild-eyed faces of my fellow students, when I show them pictures of some models and talk about how this and that was done Ok, in the download section here you'll find the second version of my modelling tutorial. Read it through and then read my former post again, all should be clear then
  2. Umm, not for Rebellion so far, as far as I know. You could however load the isd and vsd models (.x files), and adjust the material to new files, like isd2_c.bmp, ... and so on. Then you could save the models without the "compressed" option into a new folder. Then you'd just have to copy the .bin files from the .rmd archive into that new folder and rename them accordingly (isd2_c.bin, ...). The you can copy the three .x files and the .bin files into the model importer and presto.
  3. Uhh, wait a tick .... Paul, are you alright again ??
  4. That's ... a blow, that leaves you feeling powerless. Today I saw estimations of over a 100,000 dead people and they expected almost as many losses due to diseases, that might follow. As if there wasn't enough suffering there already Let's all hope, that there'll be at least no such outbreak of diseases to strike even more hapless victims.
  5. Yup, what the man said. *sigh* but adding stuff can't be done without the source code. We've discussed this topic several times and I think TF even wrote a song about it, once.
  6. Thanks guys and Woo ! If I would've known that publishing a few new models would start such an avalanche, I would've done that sooner Great stuff people and Floros, you should insert a "plate" at the back of the Firespray to cover what's below. What is the model's polycount, btw ?
  7. I hope that applies to me. Jahled already said all the legal stuff and I can only say, that to the best of my knowledge this will work with your original cd: You need to make an image of your disc with software like CloneCD, Nero, ... and mount that with the Daemon tools. Then you need to install the game again from that virtual drive. If you want to retain your settings, cards, ... copy the contents from your old Rebellion dir into the new one. Mainly you need the dlls and the EDATA folder.
  8. Hmm, never heard of that happening with Rebellion. But then again, I also never had to run it in the compatibility mode on any pc. Do you mean, that the images will rather multiply than move with "bleeding" ? Or is it rather, that they leave a trail of pixels ? What video card do you have and do all the other games run well on your pc ?
  9. Merry x-mas, everybody ! My presents to y'all were already uploaded a day ago and are mentioned in the post your new models here thread Btw Mad, you should edit the second link to this. The first one didn't work for me, though.
  10. Did you know, that all the presents are already given out at christmas eve in Germany, not on the morning of the 25th ?
  11. Ho, ho, ho ! Here are your christmas presents from me. Textured versions of the: -ISD -VSD -Golan III and a completely new model, the Liberator cruiser. All downloadable from my site, link's under the www button of this post. Merry christmas.
  12. It's exactly the same as above, but maybe with a bit more of an conversational tone. That's the thing I've lamented time and again in school. The way you learn languages from the books is just not the same as it is spoken. I'm so glad my uncle bought this satellite dish when I was 11 and I got to watch English programs to learn more Jahled, you broke your ankle (Knöchel/Knoechel) ? Well, uh, get well soon. Perhaps you shouldn't order a cup of tea, while you're trying to fasten your seatbelt then
  13. Well, I just answered the first part in the other thread you made, but the second one is indeed ... hard, not to say impossible right now. The impossible part is that, as I wrote in the other thread, the available energy and such is divided randomly at the start of each game. Maybe there's a range of the minimum and maximum values in the planet's .dat file, I dunno right now. Ookay, lemme just dig in my old files ... Yep, for example: in systemsd.dat, we have Geedon V (hex: 83 2F 00 00 92). The 92 means, it's colonized. I believe 90 was uncolonized. The Sesswenna sector contains of the following planets: Averam ------ 60 2F Balmorra -----61 2F Bortras ------ 62 2F Chandrilla --- 63 2F Corsin ------- 64 2F Coruscant --- 65 2F Ghorman ---- 66 2F Svivren ------ 67 2F Uvena -------- 68 2F Yaga Minor -- 69 2F But that's all I know of these files
  14. Ya mon, I iz gonna lissen to dem Reggae mon, all day long here's another one, mon: Bob Marley - get up stand up
  15. Woa, I am a German and I also found it hard to decrypt that. Yeah, he's aking about how to change the energy cost for buildings to 0, instead of the minimum 1. But I don't think it's possible to do that, since the available energy is distributed randomly for each planet (HQs "excluded", if you use RebEd on 'em). Each facility takes up this 1 spot on the planet, simply so you won't be able to build hundreds of shipyards on one for example.
  16. But you already know, who he is Pssst
  17. Gerald the mouse shrugged at this behaviour. Humans usually tended to be rude towards its species more often than the other way around. He went on scouting the room, while Conway did something with the blinking consoles and when the room fell silent again, he also left.
  18. Bob Marley - redemption song Gotta love that reggae god
  19. During these musings, Grand Moff Conway was disturbed by a little squeak from behind his command chair. As he looked down, he only saw a little mouse looking up quizzically at him for a moment, like it was deciding, if he would provide something to eat. He called for one of his attendants. "Someone, feed this rodent. All of this squeaking is distracting me." Afterwards, the little gray being vanished through the small hole it had dug out of the nearby wall, grateful for the bit of cheese. Yet, unknown to anyone else aboard was, what part this creature would play later.
  20. Well, you know what they say: other women also have beautiful daughters Papa Roach - scars
  21. Those, who study evil are already studied by evil. I know, gloomy, but I was in one of these moods
  22. Hmm, the set blaster line was used in the prehistoric DOS age, when you had no flashy windows to play your games in. But even with the option set to a specific Soundblaster model, irq and whatsoever this should not affect Rebellion. That game is DirectX-based and therefore looks elsewhere for the hardware it's going to use, Try Windows key+R and type in dxdiag into the dialogue box. Then go to the sound tab in the newly opened window and look up the DirectSound settings. Are there any problems listed ? Can you hear something when you press that test button ?
  23. Apocalyptica - Harmageddon
  24. (Sorry Paul, but I had this scene of Shrek 2 in mind when I read your last posts ) Two hours later, the shuttle was closing in on the hangar, bringing Zoot to his meeting with Grand Moff Conway. Inside the small ship Zoot was levitating in the main passenger area, while the Zootlings and two of Conway's royal guards sat comfortable in their seats. The guards were talking to each other, the comm units in their helmets filtering their voices to an impersonal, droid-like level. One of the guards was just speaking up again. "You think this'll work ?". The other just nodded. "Sure, he doesn't suspect a thing.". Zoot's levitation dropped by an inch, as he got distracted and turned to glare over his shoulder at the red-clothed guards. They in return were looking at him with an immitation of a blank expression, something that was pretty hard to do inside a full helmet. One of them was pointing with his thumb to the seat row behind him, where the Zootlings were snoring in their seats. The other one simply nodded. Zoot picked up his levitation again and the voices were back. "But he can't be that dumb.". "Teehee, sure, he's just a cat after all.". Zoot dropped a bit again, but opted to not let them know he was listening. The guards picked their conversation up again. "Being the clone template for Conway and to be set up as his puppet, would you like to live like that ?". "Blimey, no.". "Yeah, but you're right. He's just a dumb cat, what does he know.". Zoot's anger picked up, the dark side energy filling inside him made the air around him crackle with static and force lightning, even as the shuttle finally landed and the ramp descended. Zoot lead the way, the guards and the four Zootlings, finally awake from their slumber, followed him. The hangar was filled with hundreds of stormtroopers, which formed a corridor between the shuttle and the waiting figures of Grand Moff Conway and his attendant Jamie Dorja. As the got within 5 meters, Conway started with saying "Welcome Zoot, I'm glad you had time. I'm sure you will be interested in the offer I have to. ". Zoot snarled "Ohhh yess, I'm sure I will." and started to run towards him on all four of his paws in lightning fast way. Caught completely off-guard Conway didn't know how to react to this and was still confused by Zoot's behaviour, even when the feline digged its claws into his right foot. This however brought his consciousness back and he let out a startled scream, as he tried to shake the cat off his foot. "What ? Why are you ... Jamie, get this thing off me !". Just as Jamie Dorja wanted to grab Zoot, the cat jumped on her master's shoulders and continued with its not so kind massage. Everyone else in the hangar bay was just staring at the odd scene, unsure what to do with it. Finally, as Jamie tried once again to get a hold of the cat, Zoot dropped to the floor. Conway let out a brief sigh of relief, which was followed by a started giggle, as Zoot quickly ascended in one of the legs of his pants. Slapping with all futility at the odd moving protrusion under his garments, Conway looked like he wanted to put out a spark on his clothes. Then, suddenly Zoot broke halfway out of the chest of his shirt and let out a feral hiss, as he bared his fangs. It looked like Conway's chest had exploded to make way for this bizzare sight. It proved to be too much for Dorja, for she fainted, as did several of the assembled troopers. Seemingly done with his reply Zoot walked back towards the shuttle and took off again, leaving a still confused and claw-marked Grand Moff behind. In another hangar, three decks below, the two royal guards were just taking off in another shuttle as well. Both took off their helmets now. "Well, that was fun.", Jahled said, as he looked over to the other occupant of the cockpit. "Same time tomorrow ?" Mask replied with a sparkle of mischief in his eyes. "Wouldn't miss it.". Earth was relatively safe again, even if it was just for a small amount of time. Their informant in Conway's fleet had done well, once again.
  25. Guano Apes - break the line *sigh* When will they bring out a new album ?
