  1. Hmm, always been here, you have. Just as always been here, this site has....
  2. Well, you could increase the defense rating of the DS with RebEd, that would make it harder for the Rebel fighters, for starters. Lowering the maintenance and resource points for the DS will also make it more likely, that the AI will build some, but you can't set the HQ, since it gets placed randomly at the start of the game. Also, that the Empire knows of Yavin is hardcoded into the game. I'm also afraid, that moving the DS's slot is almost impossible. In theory it should be possible, referring to vakundok's thread 'mechanics - inside Rebellion', if you alter something in the .dat file's hex code. But then, you'd also have to create the references to what texture (since the DS is no model) the slot should use and so on. In short: too much work without really getting that much for it, given the thought, that you can only have one DS-like ship in orbit.
  3. Just a few weeks ago you complained about my vague rule of thumb, now ...
  4. Actually, the bottom left corner pixel will suffice
  5. Well, this year I started using Firefox for online stuff, while I kept IE for offline browsing. But after installing SP2 for XP Firefox might see even more action, since this darn new pop-up blocker even prevents the offline version of the CUSWE from working properly. It's just not practicable, if you have to deactivate this thingy everytime you launch something like the CUSWE database offline.
  6. Whatever you do, don't reply to spam ! They use this as a means to check, if they sent it to a valid email address and you'll never be out of the loop. If your email host supports this, move the sender to a spam list and be done with them (until the next one, from another address arrives...)
  7. ... Belgium ... I mean ... splendid I've finished the complete edition of the book (including 'mostly harmless') a few weeks ago. It differed from some parts of the original radio drama of 'The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy', but I'm glad I got that as well. If any of you don't know the series by now, give it a try. It's the work of a genius and without Jahled I might have never even read it
  8. Niiic, you need an IRC client, like Mirc first. Then you select irc.swcic.net as server and when it asks you to join a channel type #swrebellion. That's it.
  9. Nirvana - aneurysm followed by DieÄrzte - mein Baby war beim Frisör (translation: - my babe was with the hairdresser)
  10. Well, from the ingame scenes, that I saw a few months ago on the dvd of my games-mag it looked certainly promising The hud in the clone trooper's helmet, that can show you, where each team member will be after your orders is a splendid idea, for example. I won't divide between BF and RC, though. I'll play them all
  11. Nah, Scath did it in one month, with one of his hands tied on his back. (Ok, maybe I'm overexaggerating a bit ) which is on Friday, right ? Wasn't the card guild on a separate site ?
  12. You might need to PM Stratus, if you can't connect. There was some problem with the IRC server, probably why I could register my nickname, but wouldn't get an authentication mail
  13. While I was trying to find out, who said the line, that Evaders had posted I found this one and it had me rolling on the floor. "To do is to be."--Descartes "To be is to do."--Voltaire "Do be do be do."--Sinatra
  14. Happy birthday, Trej ! Next year I'll tell you, what my mother said on my 20th, but for now: the sacrifices to Yun-Candle, err ... your presents were just uploaded and are in the Reloaded members area
  15. Well, the cutscenes are simply triggered by game events, so every mod will trigger them You could try to create a cd image from your original Rebellion cd and run that with Daemon tools from your hdd. This will be faster than your CD/DVD drive and the cutscenes will play smoothly.
  16. Umm, the most important thing of all, which I forgot to say to him in that dream I once had, where I did meet him: Have Lucasarts create Rebellion 2 The only thing I was doing in that dream, was chatting about EP3 with him. When I woke up I remembered, that I forgot about Rebellion and went all Doh !
  17. I've also been looking for the new Bulwark or the Vong ships at first, but I guess they will be in the final .30 release
  18. Ssssomebody stop us It's certainly a great feeling to see our community growing steadily throughout the years and that we've reached another step This should finally begin to be something of a pointer in the right direction to Lucasarts Jahled, so that's what the Koala was for Cain, about point 2 in your suggestions: well we could also call PTESB a P(artial)C(onversion) and Reloaded a T(otal)C(onversion) and about number 4: whoa, hold your horses I've often thought about this, but at the moment, I can't keep track of all the things in my life as it is, so this would be too much Anyways, now what about them 4k members ?
  19. The manual also says, that Tie Defenders are best suited for DS defense, at least in an unmodded game
  20. Mad, I finished Doom 3 with my 2600, 512MB Ram and just a Geforce Ti4200 with 128MB Ram and it worked great. I had to set the details to medium, the resolution to 1024, could only set anti-aliasing to 2x, but everything else was selected and the game still looked more awesome than any other, that I've seen so far. Ps: I don't think that there's currently a pc for the highest setting
  21. *cough * they are called Athlon processors Ah yes, those pc3200 bars are really fun to have, although I had no problems with animating or modelling in 3dsmax with just 512MB of them Maybe you can convince the one who sold you the 2100 one to take it back, so you could buy the other one. Otherwise you can still set up one of these 'new, barely used, ...' offers at eBay I think I should add, that the 64bit cpus will only perform better in a 64bit environment, like the appropriate XP version, that is also running 64bit programs... yep, currently almost everything you encounter is still 16-32 bit, so you can just as well buy a normal and cheaper Athlon A few weeks ago I would've even advised against that, because of the upcoming PCIexpress wave, but since they built the first series of those in a way, that will at best match the speed of current structures (like AGP), that's not a problem anymore for a long while.
  22. Jahled, don't worry. I'm running it under XP and that's basically 2k with a few visual upgrades Cat, you sure you need the compatibility mode ? Rebellion runs just fine without it on any pc I've tried so far.
  23. Oh, I was just typing something about the FSB settings, but I see that you figured it out yourself Have fun with your new Athlon cpu
  24. Apocalyptica - hall of the mountain king
  25. Hi, wanna bet ? The music files are wav files and start at MDATA.300. With my movie patch, link's under the www button in this post, you can replace them with anything, that you like. I also have an older version of the Smacker tools on my site, that lets you replace the movies (tutorial included). EDIT: Ok, I just wanted to add something, that is really important to me. Since I'm behind a slow (28k with 56k modem, dunno why either) dial-up connection I beg you all to compress your sound files, before sending them. I can decode almost anything (asf could be a problem, but who's using it anyway ?) back later, so that's not the problem. You can use whatever program, that you're comfortable with to convert them to mp3s for example, like Cool Edit, Tmpeg, AudioCatalyst, ... , basically a 128kb mp3 would work perfectly. If you don't have one of said programs, you can download Lame encoder 3.92 and the easy to use GUI Enlamer for this purpose. Thanks, guys
