I haven't tried mnay, but so far: Samuel Adams.
-
But it is! It's quite accurate!

At a pool on post (on the base). I'm a lifeguard--it says so on my profile. I get paid shit for the amount of work we do (we don't only sit and yell at people, at the pool I work at we have to clean bathrooms, mow the lawn, pick up trash, and MUCH more), but it's still a fun job!

Sorry to hear that...but... It seems it's time for a world-wide revolution of the governments of the world (for most, but not all)!
-
And now...an AT-AT pilot! I don't mean to discourage you and I say, if you really want to do it, go for it! But I have to warn you it's pretty tough training (but not nearly as hard as real Rangers will make you think).

Imperium Americana? Oh, wait, that's not a good idea! Because it already exists. All in all, I think this topic has basically come to the conclusion that we need a dictator (sort of) that is one of the people and will rule for the people as one of them. More power to the people through an upper, ungreedy power. Sadly...well...as Trej and I have said, it won't happen due to human nature.

Once you've been here for a while and posted quite a bit, 400 posts begins to mean nothing...well, actually...well, never mind. Cute, real cute, Trej.

The ironic part, though, is the fact that I plan to join the U.S. Navy. Maybe I should leave the U.S., go live with Jahled and Zoot, and join the Royal Navy instead.... What do you say, Jahled?...

The astromech speaks truth! ( ) And now I shall explain eternity in the same amount of time eternity lasts....
-
(this sounds like an RPG...hehehe, fun! )
-
I know. But seriously, what is he, Jahled: outdoor or indoor?
-
Is there any way I can help? I mean, I know nothing about what a source code does or reprograming or any of that computer stuff, but I want to help! Jahled, Scath, I know I could e-mail, but I don't have the first clue as to what e-mail about. Even so, how can I help?

[Poll] Do you enjoy playing Rebellion versus Person/Comp?
SOCL replied to a topic in General Discussion
Yes, back when Trej was a lieutenant colonel and Scath was a commander (something like that) (yes, Trej at one point out-ranked Scath). -
Whay would you like to see in the next SW book series?
SOCL replied to a topic in General Discussion
Trej, Antilliles, read your last few posts. They're hillarious because they sound like a real conversation (simply because of the way they're written)! I knew another novel would come...but I didn't know what it would be about. When does this particular one come out? You think so? Maybe even including Luke's death (of old age or what have you). You know, realistic stuff where people don't live four hundred years (except beings like Yoda). -
What Other Books are you Reading?
SOCL replied to Grand_Admiral_Thrawn's topic in General Discussion
Do you have a job, by any chance, Trej? -
Heh heh, oops. Too much lager. It is time, my dear SWR Member.

No worries. Today, after work, I had a 16oz can of Budweiser...not my favorite, but it was all I could get.

Hints...well...it's accurate.

Mostly work. I usually put in eight hour days at work (11 AM to 7 PM - opening to closing) with 40 hours a week. This is usually, mind you.

Do you mean to say that all those businesses and such that used to not allow people of certain races work in for them because of their race or thoughts could not be prosecuted? I think history has proven that the government can in fact protect a person from another's discrimination. Hmm...a good point, Scath...we very good point.... Thank you for saying it. Just another reason I've wanted to live in the UK now for almost five years, not the main reason, of course, but it all has to do with the government. Good point, Elvis, and your arguement makes sense rather than "If you don't agree, then get out!". It's not the critics I and my friends and neighbors are afraid of, it's the people who pressure you to give up your stand with the threat of embargo, pain, and such.

Yeah, I'm still on the second book of Ruin simply because of how busy I've been with work, and when I'm not working I'm here. Actually, instead of answering the other million and a half forum post notifications and go read.

With a name like Mon Mothma...what did you expect?

Hamilcar Barca; he proved himself in the First Punic War.Quite. I must apologize for my ignorance on the part of Zhukov. Like I had said, it wasn't a very complete list at all and, thus, there were bound to be many people missing. I'm glad to see, though, that you outlined why you thought he was a great military mind, it truly did bring some understanding to this thread! I included Scipio simply for the sake that he defeated Hannibal (my research paper outlines how Hannibal could have been victorious over Scipio had he taken a few different coures of action before crossing the Alps). I was going to delete him from the poll, but someone voted for him...who? I should have included all, but I think Wellington is at about the same status as Scipio, famed because of his defeat of a genius (even though Napoleon did start screwing up towards the end). I also wrote a research paper about Napoleon that outlines how such a simple thing as rain and Napoleon's one-hour hesitation caused his downfall at Waterloo and what could have happened had he not hesitated. So that everyone knows, both my research papers were edited by three seperate active military personnel, First Sergeant John Folly (Bravo Company first sergeant, 2-187th Infantry Battalion), Lieutenant Colonel Jeffery Buchanan (3-187th Infantry Battalion commander), and Commander Wesely Hampton (U.S. Navy officer). So I didn't make up the "what-if" parts of the paper out of nothing. I also had a comprehensive discussion with my father, a psychologist, over Hannibal and Scipio's state of mind (in the first paper), and Napoleon and Wellington's (in the second paper). Again, anyone want a copy of either one, feel free to ask. By the way, I noted the above paragraph to credibility, not to advertise my research papers.

Fleet Admiral Socl looked from left to right into the black of space. His personal strike fleet was gathering here, in an obscure part of space and all that remained was the Ticonderoga's arrival. And so, they had been sitting idle in space for nearly a week out in the middle of nowhere. But with Imperial High Command on him for the accused failure at Kuat and the loss of the gargantuan Eclipse-class super destroyer. He knew quite well, though, that they were trying to cover up for their own loss. After all, at the start of the fighting the Imperial moff on Kuat had said he was in charge and Socl was to merely "follow orders". Apparently that particular moff had thought an Eclipse could destroy an entire Yuuzhan Vong fleet and, of course, he had been wrong, and had subsequentally perished aboard his enormous flagship, taking more resources needlessly from the Empire. Socl sighed heavily. The mere fact that the moff had ignored his warnings about the fleet, as well as his insistance that he could have held his own, but had been ordered to hold his ground and not act just confirmed his distrust in Imperial High Command. He was tired of this, tired of taking orders from incompetents and politicans who knew nothing of combat, much less the military. They claimed that they did with such mottos as "Combat is horrible, but not as horrible as losing the will to fight" and "War is the art of the gods, it is powerful and terrible" when not one of them had ever experienced combat, much less seen it occur. Arrogant fools. "Admiral," a tentative voice came from behind him. Socl slowly turned away from the viewscreen and faced the source of the voice. "Yes?" "The Ticonderoga just came out of hyperspace in our quadrant. Its ETA is seventeen minutes," Captain Janus, commanding officer of the Ra Cailum, reported. "Should we prepare the fleet for departure?" Socl looked out the port side viewscreen to see the small gray figure of a Star Destroyer approaching--the Ticonderoga. "No," he said. "Instead order all the commanding officers to meet me in the Ra Cailum's secondary conference room. In the mean time, start powering up the Nu Shield and begin the interface connections between the ships's computers." "Yes, sir," Janus said, nodding the orders off to the bridge officer. "Also, have Colonel Wignzer meet with us; we shall need all intelligence reports possible on this Vong fleet we encountered at Kuat...there's something different about them then the ones we have fought in the past," the fleet admiral said, his voice distant and full of thought. Janus hestiated, giving the admiral a strange look. "Ah...yes, sir." Socl snapped back to reality, his eyes cold and hard once again. "Very well then," he said quickly, "I shall be in the conference room."

Oh but of course, but a lack of protection due to the fact that it disagrees with them is just as bad. I won't address this, I'm sure Scath will be able to address and word it far better than I could ever. But isn't that suppose to be the liberty and freedom behind it all? The fact that if, how you say, I can't handle the heat, then I don't have to get out of the fire? After all, the freedom is suppose to protect us all, not just those who agree with the government's opinion and such. My statement is probably worded wrong and I have a feeling that because of how it is worded it will be misinterpreted.... Isn't that a form of prejudice...?
