  1. Actually, if you want my latest explanation, go to the Site Updates forum and visit my website's thread....
  2. ABOUT MOBILE SUITS Okay, as promised, I would make a post that explained mobile suits in a tad more depth than the story gives (since some of the background is included in the prequel to "Magical Lies"). Now, I'm quite sure that my four or five readers are probably think: the Grand Imperator of BEAK is about to strike again, and...well...you're right, I am. Well, hey, hopefully this one will help you understand the hardware behind the story a tad more. Just a note ahead of time, most of the specs are quite broad and general as I don't like getting too specific for it ruins things for myself (no joke) and then I end up getting miserable with the story and no longer have an interest in it. So, to make sure I don't lose interest in my own story, I won't get specific about everything. And trust me...I can get more specific. Let's get some of the broader specs out of the way. All mobile suits are 18.0 meters tall unless otherwise specified. They all carry a standard shield, as seen attached to this mobile suit, and is carried the same way on all of them, unless otherwise specified. They all a standard built-in weaponry of twin, head-mounted 60mm Vulcan automatic cannons on either side of the main optical viewscreen. They also have at least one beam-sword that is stored on the ventral part of the left forearm. They all also have a wrist mounted .50 caliber machine gun and/or 60mm Vulcan automatic cannon on their right wrist. All carry a standard M145 100mm carbine, which can be stored on their pack for easy carry. Their packs is also a rocket-pack that allow the mobile suit to "fly" and "jet" about as the pilot desires. YMMS-01: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for mountain testing. This model had the cockpit in what was considered traditional: the head. It is a standard model and looks identical to the YMMS-02, YDMS-01, and YDMS-02. It was put into combat testing along side the YMMS-02 with JUGGERNAUT under the command of Field Marshal von Asch during the Northeatern Campaign. YMMS-02: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for mountain testing. This model had the cockpit in the torso, which was considered safer for the pilot because of its unobvious location; this sort of cockpit would become standard in all mobile suits. It is a standard model and looks identical to the YMMS-01, YDMS-01, and YDMS-02. It was put into combat testing along side the YMMS-01 with JUGGERNAUT under the command of Field Marshal von Asch during the Northeastern Campaign. This model would prove to be the most successful and would be the basis of the mass production moutain MS model. YDMS-01: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for desert testing. This model had the cockpit in what was considered traditional: the head. This unit was tested in Fort Irwin, California. It, like its sister model--the YDMS-02--incurred problems with the dust and sand in the intake filters and the optical sensors, which rendered the models null and void. YDMS-02: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for desert testing. This model had the cockpit in the torso, which was considered safer for the pilot because of its unobvious location; this sort of cockpit would become standard in all mobile suits. This unit was tested in Fort Irwin, California. It, like its sister model--the YDMS-01--incurred problems with the dust and sand in the intake filters and the optical sensors, which rendered the models null and void. AMS-01A: This mobile suit was developed for amphibious type operations with Naval and Marine forces. This model had the standard cockpit in the torso. These are the most expensive of all the mobile suits because of the water-proofing equipment it requires, the extra underwater rockets, the water-proofed M145 carbines, among many other things. In addition to the other built-in weapons, it also carried an optionally electrified net launcher in its right wrist developed for captured of vessels or submarines. It also has quad torpedo tubes on its chest, double torpedo tubes on each shoulder, and quad torpedo tubes on its back. The first of these units were deployed with task forces such as Londo Belle. They look like a cross between this and this. YDMS-03: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for desert testing. This model had the cockpit in the torso. It was a vast improvement over the YDMS-01 and YDMS-02 with protected intake filters and an added visor that could be brought down over the optical sensors to protect them from the dust and sand of the desert. This unit conducted trials against the squat YDMS-04 and succeeded in being selected as the desert MS to be mass-produced. YDMS-04: This mobile suit was a prototype developed for desert testing. This model had the cockpit in the torso. A particularly intersting mobile suit, proving to be a vast improvement--if not, vast change--over the YDMS-01 and YDMS-02 with protected intake filters and a whole new system of optical sensors reminiscent of the very original mobile suit plans. This MS did not carry the standard shield and M145 carbine. Instead the armor was doubled, causing it to have to ride lower and thus "squat", and the carbine was integrated into the right hand. This unit conducted trials against the more traditional YDMS-03, but failed to be the victor and would not be mass-produced. Allied Nations' "white mobile suit": This mobile suit was developed as a prototype for a multi-purpose role instead of specializing in one particular field. This model had the cockpit in the torso. It was developed an armor that was forged from a mysterious metal. Not much is known about this mobile suit, except that it apparently spent much of its testing time in the Bermuda Islands on a secret Allied Nations garrison. It is known to carry a carbine much like that of the Imperial mobile suits, but that also includes a "grenade" launcher underneath the barrel that fires explosive 180mm rounds. It stands 18.2 meters to the tip of its "v"-shaped antennae and carried double beam-swords in its pack on its back. Its body looks like this and this. It's shoulders like the one on this one. And its pack of double beam-swords is like this one's. Other mobile suits that are known to exist for the sake of the others: YAMS-01: The prototype amphibious mobile suit which the mass production AMS-01A was based off of. There are other mobile suits that will be introduced along the way (throughout the story), as well as more details on the Allied Nations' "white mobile suit". I hope that wasn't too confusing and was actually helpful to some people.
  3. I agree.... But did you happen to notice, wormie, that they're both from the U.S.? So, Anti_Spamtilliles...what's your plan?... I'm joking, Antilliles, we wouldn't ever destroy you...on purpose.
  4. Indeed. Last time being when he got sick (back when I first joined) and wasn't around for a WHILE?
  5. This is rather odd. I have only once lost a character (because I sent him on stupid, useless missions and actually wanted to rid myself of him, and even that too great effort) to the enemy. It's especially odd since the game tends to hate me in every aspect other than death of characters. Sorry, just commenting (AKA: spamming...I suppose ).

Interesting. Then I shall be patient...and ready....
  7. Thank you, thank you! For my first act of my return, I shall prepare a VERY long explanation over the duties of a Grand Admiral and how they comepare to the closes ranks/positions of High Admiral, Moff, Grand Moff, and Supreme Moff. Upon it's completion, I shall post it in my home: the "Beeing Promoted in the Forums" thread!
  8. Yeah, I suppose we could! But I don't think I could take all that spam everyday at work.
  9. Not a Spamy, but the Spamy. Exactly.

    The Clouds

Quite true. My parents, well...just about my entire family, for that matter, feels the same way you do. I just recalled that I actually did vote in this poll and that one vote for yes was me... Urgh, I feel both stupid and alone.... Heh heh, well at least Holly agrees with me!
  11. I could have sworn it was 1-900-I-DO-SPAM.
  12. What am I ever trying to say?
  13. No offense, Antilliles, but there is always sense in talking about the past. No, I don't mean to say we must dwell in the past, but we must always reflect on the past and use it as a point of reference or doomed we are to commit the same mistakes time and again. I mean, look at the Nazis, yes, they were bad, but Hitler did not pay attention to the past and became the Napoleon of the 20th Century by invading Russia. I put my two cents in and now I'll get off my soap-box.
  14. Well, now that he's gone: Has anyone else noticed we have a forum member named "Anti_Spamtilliles"?! It's like another sneaky_zoot! I think it's the greatest thing since the BEAK Imperium and the Dork Side!
  15. Smart ass. Precisely. It was my eternally piece of shi--crap PC!

Well, yes, but he is the Emperor my forces tend to not agree with. Further more, he believes in all that Jedi and Force shi--stuff.
  17. No, he' the GRAND IMPERATOR OF BEAK, Antilliles! When are you going to learn?Okay, look, all of those who don't get it, it's as Scath says. He is official founder and owner of the BEAK Imperium and if you continue to piss him off, our lawyers (who specialize in annoying you with corrections) will get you. You make it sound as if it is something you go inside of...which it's not.
  18. I can think of a half-dozen and one better names: -Yuuzhan -Vong -Antilliles -Trejiuvanat -Lucasgeorgio -Willie Nelson -George Bush
  19. As am I. Yes, well, between work, school, and having set it aside for almost a month, it most certainly has taken a long time. But realize, I read Dark Tide I in less than a day on a bus trip to Six Flags (an amusement park that wasn't all that great). If you meant that sarcastically: I won't respond. If you meant it seriously: I'm not sure. Like I said, I've had many distractions and the almost complete lack of Imperials and so many Jedi in it really disattracted me to the story (not to mention drove me nuts). I'm just glad Ruin is ending with the Imperials and Pellaeon. Oh, Antilliles, regarding that same question: Like I told, Trej, I read Dark Tide I in less than a day, so it's not my capability, but my interest level that determines the amount of time its take me to read a book. I read the entire Thrawn Trilogy and Hand of Thrawn duology together over a weekend, but I'm still in the process of finishing The Bacta War, which I started over a year ago. Interest, my friend.
  20. Heh heh, oops. Too much lager. It is time, my dear SWR Member. Heh heh. Again: too much beer.
  21. This is actually getting kind of kind of kind of annoying. WAIT! NO! Stop spamming in this thread! Why, you ask. I don't want it to get shut down because it's, more or less, the official Explanation Zone and I have explanations over different ranks to give it, I'm just waiting for the right moment.... Further more, when the new rank system is put into play, I'm sure this thread will open up again to more intelligent discussions...and such.
  22. Luckily enough, the new PC will soon be on the way. I'm just waiting for until mid-August when I finally get to see my father for the first time in over a year (he's been in South Korea...he's in the U.S. Army, if you didn't know). You see, I'm waiting until then since I don't know that much about PCs and he, on the other hand, does.
  23. Well, it depends what surfshop it is and how successful the shop itself is. And only the owner and manager can probably afford to live on the beach...regular workers: nope.
  24. Hmm...in that case...
  25. I'm not too worried...this has happened before.
