I get this funny feeling that "crackers" used as a term for Caucasians (I msut be politically correct) is only American. I also get this feeling that branding people as a certain type of person is not very common in other nations, but I may be ignorant. Even so, it's sad how we do that.

By the way, why don't we have a slogan for this site/these forums? Like something we say everytime we welcome someone? At the site I used to be a part of (a Jurassic Park site), we would say: "Welcome to JPToys, the only place in the world where the geese chase you". Shouldn't we here at SWR have something similar that is said once to each newbie? Not like a true rule, but some unsaid rule sort of thing . . . oh, nevermind.

Agreed! I do not believe Palpatine will reveal he is Darth Sidious because that would probably poise the Trade Federation and the other groups Sidious used against the new Empire. Instead, I think he will simply reveal the fact that he can use the Force. Of cours,e the question of why he is purging the Jedi if he in fact is one will arrise, but he will probably blame some MAJOR catastrophy (such as the Clone Wars) on the Jedi, diverting attention away and instead against the Jedi (using his political charisma, of course). So do you believe that Dooku was in fact the Dark Jedi mentioned to have reached Dagobah in the Thrawn triology and Hand of Thrawn duology? He was said to be from Byss (I believe) . . . where is Dooku from? I read somewhere that the EU has movie characters in them, but the movies do not have EU characters in them. I HUGE arguement was made over this at TheForce.Net, but it basically concluded that the EU characters do NOT appear in the movies. Perhaps this would be a good idea for another thread. . . .

All this computer language stuff has truly confused me. Does all of this mean that I, with my stupid 56.6K dial-up connection cannot play online? Secondly, I've played over a LAN against another person at a one of those computer cafes and it took a VERY long time (almost 9 hours!). How do you guys expect to play online for that long? I mean, can you save the game and return to it later or something? As you can tell, I'm quite perplexed concerning the workings of this entire situation. No need to apologize. Every time someone make a reference to a spoiler (but in such a manner as to not give details away), I always end up guessing what it is correctly. For example, when I first started reading Heir to the Empire, I wasn't sure where Thrawn would disappear to since he most obviously wasn't in Darksaber (which was the only other SW book--other than Shadows of the Empire--I had read) and was referred to in a past-toned voice by Pellaeon. It wasn't until someone hinted at Thrawn's fate and then flat-out said it that the series ending was basically ruined for me. Of course, I never expected it to happen on the bridge, but instead I expected it to happen in silence while he was meditating in his quarters alone. . . .

In another thread when I first joined I mentioned ROTC and I believe it was Scath who suggested it meant Return of the Clones. Okay, ROTC is an American military corps that trains college students to be officers in the military (not a forced class, but something you can opt. to take if you wish to enter the military as an officer). Using the ROTC programs gets your college paid for 100% by the military to any college you wish (you must, of course, be accepted to the college first). NROTC stands for Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. AROTC is Army, AFROTC is Air Force, and MCROTC is Marine Corps. Did that clear things up?

I've seen many planets fall to my 200+ Dreadnaughts when they had many, many, many fighters. Though it would be interesting to see 50 X-Wings. I've seen 100+ TIE Defenders, but never anywhere even near 50% that of Rebel fighter craft.

Sadly, I can, and I think it would get caught somewhere among annoying brats and aliens, enourmous contradictions with the overall SW plot, and a complete disregard for the EU.

Granted, the SW prequels weren't as great as we all expected, but how are they not as good as the Star Trek movies? And how on earth are all the ST movies revolutions?
