Well, the Naval Academy only offers certain majors, about a total of four broad fields, all relating with engineering (which I dislike). I get to choose amongst those four.

This meanssomething like: Oh God, look at Mr. Electro Technician: he had a three for his last exam and it was me who scored a two! For those of you unclear about the two and three: our exam grades range from one (worst) to ten (perfect). Means: That doesn't amaze me when I read your other posts.OH!

See, you guys over there in Europe have SO much variety as far as . . . well, anything, as compared to the U.S. Here in the U.S. I can't find ANYTHING that isn't from the U.S. and if I ask for it, people stare at me and think that because I want to buy foreign music I am anti-American. What stupidty! Then again, most people here in the states have been brainwashed to think the way the system dictates and don't dare to think freely, much less independantly. I would buy better music, but, well, recently a foreign-exchange student from Belgium--or at least I think he's from Belgium--got beat-up pretty badly because he said he didn't like American music. That's right, he got beat-up for it! I think you can tell that was the motivation for this thread and I don't mean to turn this political, but it's the truth. That's the main reason I'm really into System Of A Down. It's not so much the metal or the rock, but the views and the independent thought they show. Okay, I better get off my soap-box before I get REALLY political. Simply put: "Hey, Jahled, I hope you've got an extra room, I'm moving in!"

Hey, here's a pretty open-ended question: What kind of music do you listen to? Ellaborate and specify in your post. Also, name some of your favorite bands and even give website URLs so we can all enjoy! I'm a metal-head and thus mostly listen to rock, but interestingly I concentrate on one band mostly: System Of A Down! http://www.systemofadown.com Also included in the Rock category is Linkin Park. Well, I read this GREAT fanfic about Piett and coffee a VERY long time ago and suddenly remembered I should introduce you guys to it and the insanity it involves! I purposely make mine last a long time, gaining and losing ground on purpose and, of course, on "accident". A straight game I want to end quickly can go as short as a day. Longest: I have a game I've been working on for close to two years now.

I know the experience you have gone through, LaForge, I go through it every time after my 23 hours of Rebellion, but with an Imperial twist to it. In my dreams of Rebellion I end up killing my two droid assistants, but they come back and order sanctioning and have me forced to sit aboard the bridge and watch the galaxy fall apart. After and while reading the Thrawn series, I would dream of being a Star Destroyer captain under the command of the Grand Admiral. I remember those great dreams of fighting Rebels in ship-to-ship combat . . . but then came the Battle of Bilbringi. Standing aboard the bridge when the order to retreat came in from Pellaeon. As we tried to retreat to the jump-point, the Star Destroyer was crippled and we were forced to crash-land in an enourmous hangar and go out and fight hand-to-hand against the Rebels. In the end, we were captured and executed (I awoke before the order to "fire" was issued to the firing squad). I the fact that Imperials tend to lose.

I'll make it short and sweet. The Naval Academy at Annapolis is where the best of the best midsipmen go, but it's a 100% military environment. It requires A LOT more paperwork at least one congressional appointment/recommendation to enter. At Annapolis get direct military training every single day and am obligated/guaranteed a commission into the Navy. It'll only cost me $1500 for the uniforms, the rest is free. The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) is a college program intended to train college students to be Naval officers, but at regular colleges. It's a voluntary class, of course, but with a NROTC scholarship, I can attend any college I want (that has a NROTC progam in it, of course) while I major in whatever field I wish. If I attend NROTC without the scholarship, I have until my junior (3rd) year to decide whether or not I want a commission into the Navy. With the scholarship I have an obligation to serve at least four years in the Navy. Along with that the NROTC program allows me to be in a civilian environment with military training along the side. The scholarship pays full tuition, board, etc. It'll only cost me $1500 for the uniforms. So, what do you say? I gave the rough details, any specific questions: just ask.

Hmmm.... I wonder whether I should take that as a compliment or not? Come, now, Scath, understanding the language of SOCL is a compliment. Well, you have known me the longest in these forums, so you have an advantage in understanding me over the others.

I don't think there are many people who truly believe Canada to be the "enemy", but you know how some over-patriotic people can be. . . . They get all caught up in blaming other countries for their problems and, well, look what happens. Don't worry, wormie, I'm not one of those who dislikes Canada, I mean, sure, I make fun of it, but only jokingly, nothing serious. 100-man army, ehh? OOOOOOOO, scary.
