I looked up your cards, good stuff. But there is a but. The drawings. The really look like drawings, some of them not especially good ones (heck, this is Zsinj? Where is his uniform? Are they teenagers or what? Well, Ghent and Bria ARE.). Of course this is not your fault or any fault whatsoever, but most of the drawings (except for Corran, Pellaeon and maybe Face) don't really fit with the other images in the game. It's just about style and continuety (or what it is called). I like the Pellaeon very much, though his rank insignia is somewhat odd. What was his rank at the time the drawing is supposed to cover?

Sounds: MP3 converters are seldomly free of charge. There is a thing called libVorbis or something like that and sees extensive use in the BG2 modding community. Converts to .ogg and back to wav. The thing that could be really difficult is to write up a tool that patches the dlls.

I'd go for Sovereign. The ship is 'less overkill' than the Eclipse. Game balancing will be very difficult. The Sovereign is considerably less powerful than the Eclipse but still able to whack an SSD into three days from next week.

deXtoRious: The XWA NJO-Project site is at http://njoproject.skywalkeronline.net Maybe some ships like the Mediator, Viscount or Bothan Assault Cruiser won't be in the TC, but I would REALLY appreciate if someone converted their models for Rebellion.

I'd say Dendo's. Page was a little more than a lieutenant at that time, so Dendo (was he colonel in Isards Revenge?) seems more logical to me.

We definetely will have to replace the backgrounds, just for switching the Alliance Symbol for whatever the New Republic uses. Black backgrounds would be fine; they are somewhat neutral and don't make problems with borders stand out too much.

Brings up another problem: How do we include and easy installer? I mean, we can't simply tell people to open resource hacker and start replacing models and stuff for a few days. And the tactical.dll get's way to large with many models added (mine is about 40 MB).

Har har, Dash is Alive and Kicking, not some Belfast Child but some really nasty aliens with Simple Minds. (sorry for the pun(s)). I wonder when Boba Fett makes his appearance in the NJO. Trejiuvanat: Have you looked up Mask's Daala and Isard? I really like the pics he used, so you might save yourself some work and get some inspiration or whatever in the process. Geez, I gotta get Booster into my team!

Oh heck, we can add planets. And we can make them look GOOD. BTW, I need a graphics program which lets me assign a defined palette to a pic (like for the fighters). Where can I get one? (I have got Paint, some Micro$oft standard from Win98b other than Paint and CorelDraw 4...)

What I say (well, write) now will much likely be impossible, BUT... Could there be a way to add a new file to the -dats and make the game use it? Say, for Bilbringi or something? There just has to be a file telling Rebellion: "Oh, while your busy getting my beer from the cellar, take a look in the GData folder and fetch me some files, too, willya? I'll give you a list..." Otherwise the savegame editor could be an excellent tool for making scenarios. So we could make a savegame for the TC in which most of it is REALLY authentic.

What do we do about the Imperials? I don't remember any recognizable droid that could do the job, but simply keeping the originals is kinda boring.

If I may quote Austin Powers on this one: "Yeah baby, yeah!" Now we just have to work up the stuff for the planets in Strategy.dll and then send them over to Strategy.dll. The game resizes starfighters if the newly imported pic has a different resolution. Is this true for planets, too?

Mask: Hehe, always used the German version. Would explain me finding nothing new for quite some time... Right now, I' experiencing MANY crashes in tac mode, usually at the end of a battle. It has something to do with replaced models. I started switching around things for the TC and replaced the following: Quasar Carrier - MC-80a Corvette - MC-40 Medium Transport - Assault Frigate Bulk Cruiser - Gunship With the Imps just Dreadnaught - Lancer Frigate So now each side starts of with different ships, but somehow it causes crashes. Ideas?

I think we should chose Eclipse or Sovereign. They have exactly the same purpose/function/strenghts/weaknesses. No point in having both. JediIgor: I, too, thought they knew, but they don't. They even brought up this five-mile-nonsense. In the movies and even in TIE Fighter, the SSD is at least 11 times the size of an ISD. But 12 km is fine for the game. But in the original game, the SSD was tiny.

Latest X-Wing book was Starfighters of Adumar. Dunno about a cloned Daala, maybe you mean tha cloned Isard. I vote for Isard! The real one, not her clone. Mask already has a pretty good card for her. I like the Corran pic from I, Jedi that's around in the cards section. But a new one for Pellaeon is a must. We need some for Covell, Dorja and Brandei, too. And Ferrier and Borsk. Go ahead Trejiuvanat, work them up! Is there a possiblity for a cards section with limited access for our TC cards, so that we might load them up for inspection? I did quite a few ship cards and want to present them, but not to the public (talk about surprises).

It's all about level of detail and which model is shown depending on how close the viewer gets.

This would be found in the starting conditions in the GData folder. Dunno how to get into it, Mask is working on a savegame editor and has already dug some things up; maybe he can be of assistance. Right now, I know of only three planets with specific starting conditions: Coruscant, Yavin and the HQ. There could be a way to set flags for other systems or other catagories of systems (as defined by importance). Would be nice to really have the Sluis Van, Corellia, Fondor, Kuat and Bilbringi Shipyards or the training centre on Caridia. Would put a new pressure on the player to get these systems. But right now, it's not yet possible. BTW, I often use the same galaxy settings as you do. To get the AI a little boost, I usually bombard 5 to 8 sectors so they join the enemy. But the AI has problems with so many systems joining and takes a lot of time to get production running in them. It's really cool to play alliance when the Empire start out with 8 ISDs, 14 VSDs and lots of Carracks. No more blasting into systems with your two Corvettes and a Carrier...

Oh, most of the sources I did not recognize were sourcebooks and encyclopedias and such things. The short names for the books are pretty distinctive, though.
