Of course there is no progress what belongs to pc games. There are allways the same kind of RTS ala C&C or AoE and stuff. The same is for first person shooters (or ego shooters  ). They just advanced in graphics and that´s the only thing where the pc is allways a step further than consoles, because it´s upgradeable. I also would prefer a game like rebellion with a newer interface and graphics, but the companies just got an eye on where to make fast money. That´s because we just get all these lame sequells instead of inovations. But this also will happen soon to console games. :?

Actually, I lied. Civilization wasn't the game I saw, but this one called 1701. I think it should be along the same kind of thing, where its an RTS, but on the Wii. The closest thing Ive ever played to an RTS is Rebellion, which is also one of the few games I ever owned for the PC.

I didn't know that Battlefront was online playable.

Oops- it's a LAN game. Dang, and here I was all excited! Ah, well. Single player is still enjoyable enough....

That and I don't really want to try to figure out how to run a router all the way over between where the computers (which are on networked internet) and the PS2 are.

I'm not saying PC games are going to die. But if developers continue to get turned to the PC, I'd expect much more money to flow that way. It's cyclical. Gamers flock to the systems with the games they want to play and developers develop for the systems that sell.

This comment is just another point

EA says its revenue from PC games has decreased 30% as a whole over the past year.

I dont know if anyone has ever played any of the Fire Emblem games on Nintendo systems, but they are great. Its a tactical RPG that is extremely challenging based on the fact that characters cannot be resurrected if happen to die. Theres no churches or phoenix downs or anything of that nature. So you find yourself replaying battles over and over again just to ensure your entire party survives.

I first played the one for the Gamecube and completed it, and now Im working on the Wii one. I just recently found out there were two more released in America (I think 4-5 others are Japan exclusives) on the GBA, so I gotta start checking out used game bins for that. So if you like tactical RPGs and have a GameBoy Advance, Gamecube, or Wii, check this series out. Its sweet.

I've heard of Fire Emblem. Its been highly praised by the critics. But since i don't have a Wii or a GBA I guess I could only try the Gamecube version... I'll keep my eyes open for it i the sale bins.

Supposedly Halo I for PC sucked- something to do with poor coding, I believe.

Yes. World's worst port. Period.

Oh, and the fact that the game itself is rather mediocre at best didn't help.

So, just how bad was the porting of the game? Wellllll, Halo's graphics and engine were nothing ground breaking for its time and YET, year(s) later it was still used as a benchmark for hardware when Doom 3, Half-life 2 and FEAR came out. That's how bad it chugged along.

P.S I'm back after fighting off a computer virus or 30.

You know me too well Tofu

I don't know what went wrong? I mean, I'm an adult ... and they're adult content - it just makes sense! Like things made for kids!

I got it from surfing the net and attempting to get a program to "run again" after the licence expired - don't download and run just anything now kids.

So, yes, one Trojan lead to another and another etc. etc. But all appears to be better now ... appears 8O

Side note: I almost did a quick photoshop of an Army of Darkness poster with Ash fighting of virii (what is the plural of virus?) ... almost. But, then ... well, I didn't.

You don´t even have to visit adult sites to get a virus (plural of virus = viruses??) or trojan. Just don´t klick on anything that wants to tell you that you´re computer is infected and you have to do an online-scan or to download a small program which fixes everything again. You can find that crap nearly everywhere.

So far, I prefer the Gamecube one. The Wii game is a sequel to the Gamecube one, so you definitely want to play Gamecube first. Plus the story is more fluid, because the Wii one is broken into several different chapters where you control various different parties who come together at the end of the game. I also found the Wii game to be much more difficult than the Gamecube game.

Yup, like Eagle said you can get it anywhere - and just to clarrify, I didn't get it from some adult site

Fortunatelly, I seem to have enough protection to stop most virus/trojans/adware through the net - it was just because this was a file I downloaded to the desktop and ran, it got past the defenses

My cure-all is always a system restore- I heard that can be bad for one's compy, though.

Well, there are problems. First, you need to make sure that the restore is before the virus (my earliest restore point was suspiciously on the day I got the virus), second that the restore point isnt infected - apparently common.

Finally, the bad of restore points - it can delete things you've downloaded or made (word doc).

Trying to actually post something game related this time, the next expansion pack for Dawn of War is going to be out soon.

'Soulstorm' will be adding the Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar as playable factions. (Even though everyone wanted the Tyranid.)

Though being a W40K-veteran, I was quite disappointed with that game. Playing the tabletop original you can setup a game with your friend how you like to. So fe you setup one for 2000 or 4000 points and you can choose your units and characters how you like to. That´s what I allways wanted to see in a game. Only "Final Liberation" enabled you to do that. But there were just Orks and Space Marines. All the other races were missing. :(

For the fans of Command and Conquer, EA has (after some legal problems) put back up the C&C Movies website, where you can watch the all the cut scenes from the C&C saga - Tiberium or Red Alert eras.

I should point out I didn't see any generals in the line up ... not that I'd imagine people complaining

That's why I hated Generals. It didn't use any FMV. The story was just all drab, really worthless in my book.
