I recognise that song! Anybody else?

Answer: Mad World by Tears for Fears, from The Hurting

Oh yes, I remember that song and it's cover from Donnie Darko by Gary Jules (apparently). Much slower and with a darker mood. Both of which I've got on this computer, and listening to both back to back is quiet interesting with Tears' version being up beat and feeling as if it focuses more towards the bizarre dream world whereas the cover's darker note is far more sad and feels sadistic.

@LLF: I so want that game and the time to play it. I had a quick go late last year and at a game convention, which mainly involved watching some characters talk, and it instantly reminded me of KotR. From what I hear, it's even better the KotR.

@Sin: I never really got into the Metal Gear games. What's it about? What's the game-play like etc.?

I recently puchased and finished Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. And let me just say that it not only wraps up the series, but it is also well worth the money.

One of the reasons I want a PS3. That, and the eventual God of War III.

Here is a horrible report regarding the Wii, as seen in this news report. Apparently, a child in the UK was told he could not play his Wii because his sister was already watching TV, so he went upstairs and hung himself with his school uniform tie. They say it was an accident, and not a suicide, but it is still a terrible event.

Whats really horrible and tragic is that the parents are most probably living with this huge guilt and blaming themselves, since their refusal to let their son play his games led to the accident. It is totally not their fault, and my sympathy goes out to them as they try and get through this horrible time.

KoTOR 1. was my all time favourite game. Until last week. I've actually purchased Mass Effect (yupp for money, I've buyed it!)

I'm still out of breath. I never saw a game so "complete" before. It's basicly KoTOR3, but you can just feel in it, that Bioware didn't had to stick with Lucas limitations this time and had much more freedom with the story and the universe. It's still very similar to SW and ST worlds, but it's more contemporary, more fresh.

If you guys have the hardware for it, you simply MUST play this. I'm serious. It's classic sci-fi at it's best, don't miss it :o

My ****ing computer is a Mac... *Wanders off muttering*

I'd heard the Gary Jules version of Mad World- I must say, I like it a lot better than the other. It just seems to flow better. Then again, I generally like the first version of a song that I hear.

Which is exactly the point! It is a hack'n'slash game... so it requires no thought.

It is fun for little while and great in LAN parties.

And for a little D2 nostalgia: Deckard Cain raps

I love hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers! I played the heck out of Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms.

I am currently infatuated with Baldurs Gate II: Dark Alliance. Ive completed the game with two characters, and am currently going through with a third.

Seeing Diablo III makes me really wish I had a computer worthy of gaming...

@ Krytos: What is Metal Gear Solid about? That's a whole can of worms right there. To even understand part 4, you'd have to play all of its predecessors, otherwise you'd beseriously )lost. It's basically a action/espionage game. In the first Metal Gear Solid game (which was on the original Playstation) you are Solid Snake, who is a member of a special forces unit. You are sent to infiltrate the terrorist's base and stop them from using a new weapon. The game involves you sneaking around the base, gathering weapons and equipment, fighting enemy soldiers (gun fights or hand to hand), fighting bosses, and of course destroying the enemy's weapon: Metal Gear.

The sequels 2 and 3 follow a similar formula, and part 4 wraps up everything, bringing the series to an end. The games have deep and complex storylines, so it's almost like watching a movie when playing them. You should at least try part 1 and then go from there.

This week, I also bought Ninja Gaiden: Sigma for my PS3. This is a really good fast paced action game. I haven't got very far into yet, but so far it's been fun.

I got the MGS4 bundle PS3 and I just finshed Act 2 and I must say it feels like watching a movie. The cutsences must be 30 minutes on avereage. The End of Act 2, the Misson Brefing for Act 3 and the intro to Act 3 almost took a hour and a half. I do enjoy the game so I will be looking for the others. Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. Wow that is alot of games.
Have you ever justed wanted to eat Ackbar? I mean come on a little tartar sauce a deep fryer and we're good to go.

Ok, just to let you all know, Ninja Gaiden: Sigma is fun. However, it is also hard. Some parts of this game take some cracker-jack timing.

Okay so I got a few new games recently:

1) Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - A bit complicated at first but once you get the hang of it its quite fun.

2) BlackSite - I got this and upon getting home i discovered my computer wasn't powerful enough to make it work.

3) Discworld: Noir - Picked this up yesterday in a bargain bin at the market but I haven't yet had time to try it.

Finally, Does anybody play BF2 here? I'm having this weird but. Basically what happens is that I start the game and after a few seconds of black screen the prog minimizes to the taskbar. And tend to re-minimize a few minutes after I reloaded it. I am also encountering the same problem with BF1942. Both games are up to date as is my Graphics Card. Help SWR, you're my only hope!

I've read there's a problem if you do the "Folding @ Home" stuff and you have a NVIDIA card. Check here. I hope this helps (I googled your problem Mad)

Good Luck!

Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

Basically you'll need to pause the Folding@home GPU client to play games. The GPU client obviously uses the processing power of the graphics card. While they state that it shouldn't affect your gameplay, it still does... it is still beta software and the bugs need to be worked out.
