I also purchased Jedi Knights II: Jedi Academy, but I'm not too sure about that one... Anyone else played it? Can anyone give me any feedback on it?

I've only ever played Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, but the main complaints that I've heard about Academy lie in the way that it's a slightly revamped version of Outcast. Same game engine, same graphics, similar plot, very slight improvements. It's supposed to be slightly more fun than Outcast, though, so go for it. Reportedly it killed the Jedi Knight series, though. :(

I was disappointed by Academy. The plot is rather mediocre:

Jedi turns bad and you must go and kill her.

The game is basically the same as Outcast except they added things that modders had already added in Outcast. I also missed the begining moments of Outcast where you HAVE to use something else than your lightsaber. It got to a point in Academy where I got myself wondering why they added the blasters in the first place since the only weapon you really use is the Lightsaber.

I rather liked Academy, and the idea behind it compared to Outcast. I think it could have been better, it felt a bit simple, but the ability to choose your own mission, weapons, lightsaber, lightsaber styles and force powers was rather cool. All it really needed was the ability to create random missions so when you replay it there's more to do. Also, the two different endings was nice. It just felt less linear

I just picked up a used copy of Call of Duty 3 for the PS2. Yes, I know it came out a year ago and that Call of Duty 4 is out now. But I'm cheap, it was ten bucks worth of store credit, and I generally like older games. I'll play it tomorrow. Right now... right now it's almost three AM. Let's here it for talking via E-mail for three hours straight starting at midnight! Woo! :?

Academy added that freedom of designing your own Jedi character. No longer were you just Kyle Katarn.

Unfortunately, it did away with much the storytelling that Outcast had. Rather you had small Jedi missions in between the small amount of story missions.

Talking about all these jedi knight games reminded me of finally post something which I´ve discovered months ago.

Have fun! :)

Call of Duty 3 is an awesome game. I'm really enjoying it, but that might be just because I haven't played very much by way of next gen game consoles/the most recent game I played before that on the PS2 was either Matrix: Path of Neo or Battlefront II.

God, I've been trying to say that all freaking day. Stupid Internet refused to let me do it, though...

I recently picked up a game called Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. It was brilliant! I really enjoyed playing it. It made me think a bit of Shadowgate 64 or these old Adventure games. You have to find clues and stuff to advance in the story and the story. I won't reveal too much but suffice to say that it is based on the Cthulu mythos. Its a brilliant game and well worth a try. I think you can get it for around 20$ on the publisher's website.

Speaking of adventure games, I played Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. A sequel to The Longest Journey, its a mix of fantasy world and future-technology. It was a great storyline.. if you like games with good storytelling. Of course it doesn't mean its has the best puzzles or combat, but is a mix of light involvement between the storytelling scenes.

I just hate it ends on a cliffhanger .. but at least there will be more sequels.

My friend has the Orange Box. I would definitely had snagged it a long time ago, if only I had a decent PC, PS3, or X-Box 360...

But the quantity and quality of games that come with it is far worth the price. Team Fortress 2 is probably worth the $40 on its own.

Definetely. Not a bad game in the bunch, all the HL2 games were fun - with Ep 1 probably being the least fun of the 3 (which isn't saying much considering how fun the other two are). Portal is great, if not too short (my opinion was it could've been a bit longer, but it's not dragged out at all which is a nice turn of events). TF2 is fun, but it's different to TF1 noticeably and can be a bit of a learning curve if you're use to TF1 or other class based modern online games.

Looks like youi ain´t not that old, Tex. ;)

I dunno, but these four guys remind me of Boss, Sev, Scorch and Fixer of Republic Comando, isn´t it?! Unfortunately this game won´t be released for the PC, at least not that I know of.

Who cares at all?!

I recently puchased and finished Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. And let me just say that it not only wraps up the series, but it is also well worth the money.
