I plan to use some of the money and gift cards I got for Christmas to buy Legos: Star Wars for the Wii.

Im gonna use some of mygiftcards to buy a 3rd Wiimote. Thats one of my biggest concerns with the Wii...the controllers cost $40 each, and then the second controller attatchment is another $20.

I decided to first finish Lego Star Wars 2 before getting any other games. I don't play enough to need to get them all the time.

Guitar Hero II and Battlefront (Only I, not II) have both proven to be pretty entertaining, though Guitar Hero occupies the PS2 more often than not. It's a fun enough game, but I'm not drawn into it the way everyone else seems to be. I have no issue with putting it down and walking away to do something else for, say, the rest of the week.

I´ve visited my sister a couple of days ago and there I had a match of Mario Party or what it was called on the Wii with one of my nephews. Maybe it´s because my age, but I felt that game very boring. So that match didn´t last that long. :D

Like Mad said, its only real fun with as many other players as possible. We play it quite often at school, with me and my two roomies. That game goes on for almost 3 hours sometimes.

Maybe I shall give it another try on my next visit at easter. But than I have to mobilize my two other nephews who were playing MMORPGs and ego-shooters at that time when I was playing "Mario Party" with my other nephew. :?

"Ego-shooters"? I'm guessing that's your term for online shooter games? I like that name- I'm officially stealing it, primarily because people who talk about how splendid they are for being able to kill other people on, say, Halo3, annoy the crap out of me.

Battlefront I has turned out to be pretty awesome, particularly when I play with my sister, though when I accidentally blew up Tatooine she got a bit angry with me. Ah, well. It's nice to see that I've corrupted a valedictorian and college student back into the realm of Star Wars (with the help of Aaron Alston's Betrayal). :)

Indeed those kind of games like Half Life, Doom etc. are called Ego-Shooter over here. I used this term because the term "first person-shooter" didn´t came into my mind. I didn´t wanted to say that people who play games like that are egos. Allthough as a Battlefield-Player I know a lot who just look for their own score. ;)

I intend on giving American McGee's Alice a little try later. I have great expectations.

8O I played a demo of that game, like, five years ago. It was creepy as hell!

Somehow I've been sucked back into Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It's not the best game ever, but there's still something about using that SSD to kill everything in sight that gets me all warm and fuzzy inside...

All that talking about Empire at War made me ask a friend if he would lend me his copy for a couple of days to give it a try. Had just tried the demo before and I didn´t liked it, so I wasn´t very surprised when I finally tried the full version that I still don´t think that this game is really cool. At first the ground-battles are very annoying and unballanced. For example if there´s a battle infantry against infantry this seems to take ages untill there´s finally a winner. Even with quite a number of tie-maulers it´s very hard. So I failed to win even the very first ground-battle in the campaign. :?

But I thought, there´s still the skirmish-mode, which allows you to have just space-battles. The ships look of course pretty nice, but I´m very disappointed about the fact that it´s impossible to build up at least a nice small fleet to crush the enemy. That´s because the maps are much too small. All in all it reminded me of a poor copy of the battles in "Star Trek - Armada" (Blasphemie! I know ;) ). But that game gave you at least the opportunity to build up a nice fleet, no matter what size, you were only limited by your ressources. But EAW just says "No" at a point. So all you can do is build a bigger vessel like fe a Mon Calamari Cruiser or a SD and some smaller ships and that´s it.

Ergo: This game is just another example for a title which had lots of potential. Beginning with the really nice looking space battles (The ground battles don´t look that good in opposite. Those crappy infantry modells look like modells from the first Empire Earth game) and ending with the option to conquer the whole galaxy. If I think of all the options you´ve got in Rebellion compared to those simple actions you only can do in the galaxy management in EAW, I have to say that this game is just Fast-Food and nothing more.

I checked out some other stuff on it online. Most creepy stuff- apparently the Mad Hatters gone very mad... As have TweedleDee and TweedleDum.

Very creepy concept, that, going back and making something from a children's fairy tale into a twisted, demented world like that. I might have to see if I can find it at a local game shop some time...

Its a very clever idea:

Since Wonderland is basically Alice's imagination, when Alice is locked up in guilt after the death of her parents her mental state changes Wonderland it to some kind of hell. I love the idea.

Apart from that its a fairly basic platformer.

Indeed things have changed in Wonderland:

The Mad Hatter has also changed quite a bit

Speaking of Empire at War and its expansion Forces of Corruption, I recently downloaded a mod someone made for them that puts General Grievous and his ship (Invisible Hand) on the side of the Consortium.

Here's some pictures of Grievous in action:

Some stuff on the new Indiana Jones game. Hopefully it won't suck. Hopefully Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull won't suck. Who am I kidding? They're both gonna suck. But they're both going to suck in a very pretty manner.

The best I can hope for with Crystal Skull is Temple of Doom-level Indy.

Pretty neat but adding one character isn't going to make me love the game.

Awhile back I bought Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for my PC. After toying with it for awhile, I really got frustrated with it. Does anyone else find it a difficult game to play? To me it was very difficult to control and fight enemies.

I have it on XBox and found it alright to control but the gameplay was rather repetitive. I have yet to try it on PC but I would love to.
