Sinister Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I plan to use some of the money and gift cards I got for Christmas to buy Legos: Star Wars for the Wii. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. After all, it kills you." - Katharine Hepburn
Darth_Rob Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Im gonna use some of mygiftcards to buy a 3rd Wiimote. Thats one of my biggest concerns with the Wii...the controllers cost $40 each, and then the second controller attatchment is another $20. Mad78 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I decided to first finish Lego Star Wars 2 before getting any other games. I don't play enough to need to get them all the time. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Guitar Hero II and Battlefront (Only I, not II) have both proven to be pretty entertaining, though Guitar Hero occupies the PS2 more often than not. It's a fun enough game, but I'm not drawn into it the way everyone else seems to be. I have no issue with putting it down and walking away to do something else for, say, the rest of the week. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Eagle Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I´ve visited my sister a couple of days ago and there I had a match of Mario Party or what it was called on the Wii with one of my nephews. Maybe it´s because my age, but I felt that game very boring. So that match didn´t last that long. Who cares at all?!
Mad78 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 To fully enjoy Mario Party you need three other friends, beer and a free evening. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Eagle Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I´m quite sure that it wouldn´t be my cup of tea, even under such kind of sircumstances, Mad. I actually would have loved to play something like tennis with my nephew. Who cares at all?!

We play it quite often at school, with me and my two roomies. That game goes on for almost 3 hours sometimes. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Eagle Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Maybe I shall give it another try on my next visit at easter. But than I have to mobilize my two other nephews who were playing MMORPGs and ego-shooters at that time when I was playing "Mario Party" with my other nephew. Who cares at all?!

I'm guessing that's your term for online shooter games? I like that name- I'm officially stealing it, primarily because people who talk about how splendid they are for being able to kill other people on, say, Halo3, annoy the crap out of me. Battlefront I has turned out to be pretty awesome, particularly when I play with my sister, though when I accidentally blew up Tatooine she got a bit angry with me. Ah, well. It's nice to see that I've corrupted a valedictorian and college student back into the realm of Star Wars (with the help of Aaron Alston's Betrayal). 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I agree with Eagle and Tofu. The term "ego-shooter" is extremely accurate. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
Eagle Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Indeed those kind of games like Half Life, Doom etc. are called Ego-Shooter over here. I used this term because the term "first person-shooter" didn´t came into my mind. I didn´t wanted to say that people who play games like that are egos. Allthough as a Battlefield-Player I know a lot who just look for their own score. Who cares at all?!
Mad78 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I intend on giving American McGee's Alice a little try later. Eagle Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 DarthTofu said: Somehow I've been sucked back into Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It's not the best game ever, but there's still something about using that SSD to kill everything in sight that gets me all warm and fuzzy inside...All that talking about Empire at War made me ask a friend if he would lend me his copy for a couple of days to give it a try. Had just tried the demo before and I didn´t liked it, so I wasn´t very surprised when I finally tried the full version that I still don´t think that this game is really cool. At first the ground-battles are very annoying and unballanced. For example if there´s a battle infantry against infantry this seems to take ages untill there´s finally a winner. Even with quite a number of tie-maulers it´s very hard. So I failed to win even the very first ground-battle in the campaign. But I thought, there´s still the skirmish-mode, which allows you to have just space-battles. The ships look of course pretty nice, but I´m very disappointed about the fact that it´s impossible to build up at least a nice small fleet to crush the enemy. That´s because the maps are much too small. All in all it reminded me of a poor copy of the battles in "Star Trek - Armada" (Blasphemie! I know ). But that game gave you at least the opportunity to build up a nice fleet, no matter what size, you were only limited by your ressources. But EAW just says "No" at a point. So all you can do is build a bigger vessel like fe a Mon Calamari Cruiser or a SD and some smaller ships and that´s it. Ergo: This game is just another example for a title which had lots of potential. Beginning with the really nice looking space battles (The ground battles don´t look that good in opposite. Those crappy infantry modells look like modells from the first Empire Earth game) and ending with the option to conquer the whole galaxy. If I think of all the options you´ve got in Rebellion compared to those simple actions you only can do in the galaxy management in EAW, I have to say that this game is just Fast-Food and nothing more. Who cares at all?!

As have TweedleDee and TweedleDum. Very creepy concept, that, going back and making something from a children's fairy tale into a twisted, demented world like that. I might have to see if I can find it at a local game shop some time... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Its a very clever idea:Since Wonderland is basically Alice's imagination, when Alice is locked up in guilt after the death of her parents her mental state changes Wonderland it to some kind of hell. I love the idea.Apart from that its a fairly basic platformer.Indeed things have changed in Wonderland:http://www4.macnn.com/games/gamecenter/alice/s_04_lrg.jpghttp://gamasutra.com/features/20060915/alice.jpgThe Mad Hatter has also changed quite a bit http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Eagle Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Interesting looking roundbased space strategie game with RPG elements:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqdBSUxV824 A cool new game like the good old Masters of Orion 2 would be awesome, but I doubt that this game will come anywhere near to it. Sinister Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Speaking of Empire at War and its expansion Forces of Corruption, I recently downloaded a mod someone made for them that puts General Grievous and his ship (Invisible Hand) on the side of the Consortium. Here's some pictures of Grievous in action: http://empireatwar.filefront.com/screenshots/File/85025/2 http://empireatwar.filefront.com/screenshots/File/85025/4 Not to bad eh? http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. DarthTofu Posted January 6, 2008 Author Posted January 6, 2008 Some stuff on the new Indiana Jones game. Hopefully it won't suck. Hopefully Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull won't suck. Who am I kidding? They're both gonna suck. But they're both going to suck in a very pretty manner. The best I can hope for with Crystal Skull is Temple of Doom-level Indy. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

Sinister Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Awhile back I bought Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for my PC. After toying with it for awhile, I really got frustrated with it. Does anyone else find it a difficult game to play? To me it was very difficult to control and fight enemies. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. Mad78 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I have it on XBox and found it alright to control but the gameplay was rather repetitive. I have yet to try it on PC but I would love to. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
