Episode II Death Star Reference...

Darksaber probably deserved that destiny, not one of the best books. None of Kevin J. Anderson's are aomgn the best, IMO. Read the Hand of Thrawn trilogy. It's like the end of the New Rep era. After that read Vector Prime and if you like the story on the Vong, you could continue reading.

I liked the X-Wing series the best, but I agree that the Thrawn trilogy were the best written, anything written by Timothy Zahn or Michael A. Stackpole are worth the read.

The Hand of Thrawn was a duology, at least Amazon sent me two books when I ordered the original a few years ago.

The original Thrawn trilogy was certainly one of the best.

I also like I,Jedi ,Shadows of the Empire and the X-Wing series.

Also I've just picked up Darth Maul: shadow hunter again, worth reading

as well in my opinion :D

I would advise against the Bounty hunter wars series and 'the crystal star', I didn't like these much.

About Darksaber, I never forgave Anderson for killing Madine in such a cheap way. But after Dark Tide 2 - Ruin I might say the same thing about Mike Stackpole

X-Wing Series, Thrawn books, I Jedi, some titles in the NJO. SOTE, are probably the best ones...

Crystal STar Sucks, Black Fleet, Bounty Hunter Wars (what was the point of those books???), Children of the Jedi... Jedi Academy Trilogy, I liked more the way Stackpole retold it in I, Jedi...

Madine died in a stupid way...

I almsot believed Wedge died in Rebel Stand... That's have been a blow to lots and lots of WEdge fans....

I thought that the Jedi Acadamy Trilogy were good books, Admiral Daala was a great villian, A rouge Imperial Admiral, who is bent on revenge over the death of her lover (Tarkin) and who just wants to cause havoc in the universe.... whats not to like

That depends on the side you would be taking in the conflict....

I was just saying this as a fan, not as the devoutly loyal member to the New Republic that I am.

Daala was an interesting character but she wasn't that mysterious as Thrawn, or as ruthless as Isard. She simply was, you knew her main motivation. Vengeance.

I didn't like Durron, nor Exar Kun....

Trej, did you read the SithWar comics ? Exar Kun has more character development there, as in the JKAcademy story. I've only read the first three of the 6 comics, but I liked the way he was sucked into the dark side, although he might've had good intentions. That old saying about 'good intentions' really seems to be true

Well Jahled, which book did you buy ? Don't say none at all, after we typed our fingers hot.

You wil laern, Scthane, that many times (almost always  ) we tend to leave the starting topic behind. Can you relate 100 posts to a struggle agaisnt Zoot and mask beingnan elephant? Or getting promoted in teh forums with you cutting your foot with a lightsaber. You shoudn't worry about such things.

you should be admired that at least we have managed to stay on the global topic star wars eu on this. :D

The Death Star didn't take thirty years to build did it?

I'm not sure, although the second Death Star was operational within three years after the first Death Star's demise. It seems that a time gain of 27 years is an awful lot.

Which is why i'm curious as to why George included it in Episode II! He can't just ignore this reference in Episode III!

The plot thickens...

Oh, and Swarmer dude, you quite right! The Emperor was one crafty so and so, representing Naboo one moment, Emperor of a galactic Empire the next, whilst exterminating the Jedi Order in the process....devious or what!

By the way, the timespan between episodes II & III is going to be awfully short...

The time line is only around 2-3 years, around the same time as the Caamas incident. Those Damn Bothans. :x

The Caamas Incident was when the fledgling Empire tried to subjagate the peaceful Caamassi people but they couldn't get past their planetary sheilds. So the Empire hired the famed Bothan Spynet to get the code for the sheild. After droping the sheild, the Empire then proceded to destroy the planet Caamas. The Bothans had tehn hid their involment in this and no one was the wiser until many years later.

Yeah...i"ve heard it said before that the Bothans were involved on both sides of the game... (maybe it's the name Bothan

What I don't understand in this respect is Mon Mothma's concern when she says that many Bothans died for this with regard to the info on the Death Star in ANH... I mean, if they work for the Empire as well, the why the drama?

Many Bothans died for the DS II info. If you read Shadows of the Empire it will all be explained.

I hate bothans, those treacherous things. Many died for the DSII info, how many times did they cite that in the novels?

Duh! I understand that. What i was asking is why she's expressing this as if they were allies.

If you read Shadows of the Empire it will all be explained.
Humour me and give me a summary.

I must admit that I wrongly thought that Mon Mothma appeared in ANH, when it was in fact ROTJ. If I tell you that my mistake lies in the fact that this kind of hairdo wasn't fashionable anymore in 1983, I'm sure you understand. Unfortunately, by the way, I was wrong...
