  1. When I try to export to an ALO file 3DMax reports and error and doesnt export the model to ALO. I have only just started using this program so havent a clue with whats up. Its version 8 - I downloaded the Max plugin from the other topic I created that swfan posted but as this is a seperate problem I wanted to ask seperatly. I have tried the Plugin that comes with the map editor and the one thats on eawfiles. Both dont work ?

  4. I just need to find some models to download yet LOL I know there was some warlords packs but I can't find them. Well I need to download them and what ever else I need to get working on some models.
  5. Is there any download available for the warlords pack(s) I think by evile jedi. I am about to get 3ds max and wanted to try converting some models. I also need to know where to download the plugins I might need for EAW and what ever else to get it to work.

  7. Is there any such thing as an ALO converter - to put them back in 3ds format ?
  8. I see thats all I needed to read. I was unsure if the ALO AND ala files should go in the same models folder. I have added so many units in the past that I care to mention - just getting my head around the FOC units and what to do with them if I wanted to mod them into my own game.

  11. hmm do any of the ala files work when converting to EAW format ? - I was going to add the dark troopers well 'Phase' troopers to my game. I was wondering if the ala files will crash the game ?
  12. ok question. When you convert all the ala files to EAW format do you still add the ALO file and the ALA files into the models folder ? I'm just checking in case it causes an exception error or some thing.
  13. hmm yes but using change logs help track the changes made in a mod and tell the reader what bugs were fixed in a mod. As well as what new features it contains
  14. I downloaded SAU 3.0 from your download page maybe a week ago - whats changed in SAU 3.0 reloaded ? I haven't seen or found a change log to document the changes and bug fixes and addons since that release.

  17. I notice on their website they show in their gallery a Dominator Star Destroyer ? - but there isn't one in the game ?! in neither ATOR or SAU :-\

  19. yes, sure. I'll send a PM with the sample code. (just for naval trooper) I have gone one further with them too - by mixing them in squads with stormtroopers ;D rather cool really.. reminds me of ROTJ on endor when they were in a squad like that, there just missing an imperial officer type guy in the squad now. - this is a little more adding of code to the imperial stormtrooper entry in the groundcompanies empire though - and a squad entry making for the navaltrooper to work with the stormtrooper squad.
  20. I read on wookiepedia the Imperial Naval Troopers were used basically as security men for imperial installations and were chosen from stormtrooper units. They became elite troopers so you actually might want to make them a bit more better than a standard stormtrooper. I gave mine the same kind of firepower as a StarmTrooper but with extra Combat abilities.
  21. well Naval Troopers are good in some circumstances in the game. I use them to spawn from bunkers and the Imperial Barracks to defend the bases / installations on the planets. While putting Stormtroopers to more interesting tasks. This way I can take all the squads of stormtroopers I like with me and leave naval trooper protecting the base installations
  22. As for the MC80 I - seen a few so called MC80 'B's around there is even an MC80 on EAW Files but its not like that one in the drawing. I think the MC80 was a class though wasn't it - no two ships were the same.
  23. That can't be a MK II : You only have to read the entry at wookiepedia to KNOW its not a MK II - if it were how on earth and why did they add TIE Bombers to the hanger bay ? The MK II doesnt carry them ! - not keeping with accuracy more like I can't remember if it has missile launchers in the game though - but it shouldn't have anyway if its a MK II. oh and besides the one in the game doesnt have a Tractor bean projector. It SHOULD have if its a MK II ! There's actually no harm in some one doing a proper MKII VSD in any case that is more in line with the 'cannon' VSD's I blame the game developers for confusing the issue - not bothering to keep to the proper versions of the ships that are supposed to be in the EU. I mean they also made up some new units in the game rather than use already known and established vehicles. well I think if I come across two versions of a VSD one with the wings shut the 'open' I'll have to do some tweaking to make them different. I already have a MKII -ish VSD in my game anyway - after all there wasn't much to tell them apart except for the missile launchers being removed for turbolaser batteries and Ion Cannons.
