Land maps have been made bigger on several sote maps. Increased in size to between 8 and 10 GC Planet ground base previews should be fixed in GC mode when zooming in a sote planet as it should be in stock FOC game. (MikeNL) fix for ground base previews.   2. I would hedge my bets on it being the Alpha channel set wrong it could be fixed by re editing this channel.
  3. thats sad news, but I will retrieve the file and take a look at it - maybe I can add it to sote my own mod in some way so at least your work wont die. Also Omega Modding is interested in working on this code too for our own mods so I hope some thing will come out of this

  5. Hmmm these grainy looking screenshots don't appeal to me, they dont give a clear look at what the map is like in colour.
  6. Well if you take some models I have seen like in the Space Units mod - the conversions dont contain shadow meshes, the less you add to a model surely would mean lower file size
  7. You can simply make your ALO files smaller by makign your own meshes instead of what some people *might* do where they clone the hull mesh or some thing like that. When you make your meshes you can use the optimize modifier to keep the poly count down. Also the reason why other conversions are smaller is that they lack things that your model conversions might have,. Every hardpoint, mesh and texture size adds to the export size of the model. Try spending some time to make your own meshes when needing a collison mesh - dont copy it from some thing else in the model. Same with Shadow meshes and shield. cloning will make the models quite big, and high in vertices.

  10. The only way I could think of is to clone the objects (mirror them from the Tread_R and Tread_L that you use in the model.
  11. Thats in the code SI, you also have to place the treads int he actual model for the thing to work. For example - look at any unit in EAW that uses tracks, and look for some thing that say "Tread" you should find one for left and right. They are what you add to the model
  12. I'm not sure on how I will add them yet. I am always open to idea's on it.
  13. This mod has entered Alpha 9 There will be another Alpha V10 before a Beta build will be then made. New stuff were adding are things like Ewok Gliders, and Bespin Cloud Cars (buildable). Were also re doing a few of the space units, I am learning how to use max so I have been working on replacements for some of the buggy units still left in the mod. Anyway just a little update. I haven't posted here lately with being so busy on SOTE
  14. Daft Vader, you should give some credit to the people who have converted the models your using in the mod. (Out of consideration) otherwise people might think you have made them yourself. You and I know not all of them are - so please give a mention to who did the work. I do this all the time as I dont like taking credit for other peoples work they do for me
  15. Omega Modding Group is designed for modders. Some of the people who have joined the group feel as I do about sharing resources. Of course the group has it rules as does any kind of community. We are not a mod group - but a collective of modders sharing materials. When you joined this group - as you can imagine I was rightly confused about it - considering your recent arguments with me and others on here who are all members in OMG. The web site to which you joined I am one of the Admins there. There are two member group level Standard members, and OMG Group member - this one is for modders, riggers, and Mod Leaders.
  16. I think the only realistic option IS to reinstall the EAW/FOC games. Make a back up to another folder first though. By the sounds of it you only have one physical drive though, so I guess to another folder is your only option,.. Unless you got a DVD writer and can copy your modified files over to a DVD. This GM software sounds terrible .. remind me not to use it !
  17. Daft Vader did his own conversion of it (Bothan Assualt Cruiser) however you can find it also in other mods such as Frankies Space Units mod. Id just use it and give credit to Frankie for the model or F.L.A.M modding.

  22. yes, its probably more reliable on the container. My concern is - is that if you make the space unit like an infantry unit then you would have to add a targetting priority entry for it as well ? for space battles. Maybe I miss the point though..
  23. Yes this is possible to do, or just make repair ships that will do it for you Using the Repair facility code.
