  1. I need someone's help in adding new planets to FoC. If you can help, send me a PM. In exchange, I offer any coding help and anything I've been working on.
  2. Correction. That is the Allegiance model. However, it's ONLY the Allegiance model. It's been scaled down to be more in line with what it's supposed to be. I did the code myself. If I ever get around to doing my super-capital ships, then I'll add the Allegiance back in, and add more hardpoints. LOL.
  3. What I'll do is pull up the .dds file in Photoshop and see what needs adjusted. You can adjust colors and hues and lightness and darkness at will, pretty much. Play around with it and see what happens.
  4. Well it's not like you can just slap on armor plating to an ISD and have it look the same. That's just madness. It's actually a downsized Allegiance model that I used because it lacked a fighter bay. I'll be upsizing the Allegiance later for, well... The Allegiance.
  5. Unfortunately, we're artificially limited by the number of units you can fit on the bar. The problem with fighters is that there really weren't that many different kinds of fighters. I could add in the K-Wing, I suppose. I wonder if anyone has tried making a SIXTH tech level? If not, it might be fun to try. I mean, where is the artificial limit? I think it's entirely possible. Tech Five would be the Capital Ships, and Tech Six would be the Super Capital Ships. This bears investigating.
  6. So I've been working on this mod for a while now, and I'm considering adding in game-breaking capital ships such as the Allegiance-class Star Dreadnaught, the MC90 and Mediator battle Cruisers, etc. Buildable only on one or two worlds. immensely powerful. Anyone have any thoughts?

  8. Those models are from the Space Addon Mod from empireatwar.filefront.com. The textures were decently done, but I decided to get in there and polish them up a bit. For example, the Interdictor and Tector both had yellow lighting, rather than teal, so I edited the hues and whatnot in photoshop. And yes, all the models have death clones. My goal is to make the game deeper and really give the GC mode an impetus for existing. I mean, right now if you conquer a planet it might yield an inconsequential bonus. The way I've modded it, capturing another planet gives you a lot of leverage and potentially some unique units, depending on your side. Next up, I plan on adding Bilbringi, Yaga Minor, and Sluis Van to get more capital ship building planets in the game. And after that. JEDI AND SITH. Yes, that's right. Jedi Knights and Dark Side Adepts, buildable on Yavin 4 (Jedi) and Korriban. (Sith) I'll be using the Obi-Wan model for the Jedi Knights and the Force Adepts model for the Sith. I'd consider releasing this, but I know that there would be a lot of angry people. So, I'd have to get a lot of permission first. Then again, they say it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

  10. All you do is add an entry to GAMECONSTANTS and copy one of the .txt files in the original directory. Don't use a new one, because it won't work.
  11. Keep in mind that's for Forces of Corruption. Put it in the regular game, and it'll crash.

And next time, try it yourself. This is, bar none, the easiest mod you can do. All you need is a working "Delete" key, working arrow keys, a shift button, and about two minutes.
  14. BREAKING NEWS: I have the Tector and the Dominator in-game. I tweaked the skins slightly, but they're freaking sweet. Pictures to come.
  15. I figured it out. You have to build Vader and Executor, but you can build the other SSDs too.
  16. No one is going to hand you this one on a silver platter. Try first, using what we've told you, and THEN come back and ask questions when you run into problems.
  17. Um yeah. That's exactly how you do it.
  18. I'm trying to set it up so that Vader spawns for the Empire at the beginning of the GC campaign at Tech 5, and I'm trying to do the same thing for my Defiance and Independence heroes. Anyone know how you do this? I've added the entires to the story XMLs, and set it up in the Executor code, but he's just not spawning. It would be mighty helpful if someone wanted to take a crack at it. Thanks.

  21. Ummm... It's really easy. You just delete the starting forces for all but one of the planets in Galactic Conquest.
  22. So I'm thinking about new things to do, and I just figured out how to make a beam weapon. You take something like a turbolaser hardpoint, give it one muzzle, decrease the fire pulse delay to 0, you give it a ton of pulses, zero out all the inaccuracy distances, and increase the maximum speed on the projectile. Essentially, instead of firing a few pulses a few seconds apart, you're firing a stream of pulses with pinpoint accuracy. Yes, it's sort of cheating, but I think it might work. Someone want to try and let me know?

I'm too tired to do conversions tonight, but I'm adding in the Strike Cruiser, MC80a (which I'm using as the MC80b), the Nebulon-B and B2 (I already did the code, I'm just using the new models), the Eidolon Strike Cruiser, the Interdictor Star Destroyer (The Dominator), the Tector Star Destroyer (using the Allegiance model), the Bothan Assault Frigate (only available on Bothawui to the Rebels), and the Cloaking Frigate (using the Bayonet model which will spawn TIE Phantoms). Oh yeah, and I'm going to find a way to give the BAF a beam weapon. Which I just figured out how to do.
  24. Just so everyone knows, LoW posted a minimod that adds the FoC Eclipse and the Dreadnaught to FoC. However, there is another mod from a german group that contains a bunch of new models, which appear to be VERY well done. The skins need some tweaking, but other than that they look really fantastic. empireatwar.filefront.com
  25. There are new models afoot! A german group converted some of the Warlords models and posted them in a mod earlier today. I've already found a half a dozen or so that I have some plans for. In order to keep from running into the artificial unit limit imposed by the size of the construction bar, I think I'm going to pepper the galaxy with planets where you can build fun stuff, like Bothan Assault Cruisers, Eidolon-Class Strike Cruisers, etc.
