  1. woot i beat the game and it was reeeeeeeeally cool now to beat it again mwahahahahaahaa...*amped up on Game Fuel...*
  2. PG-14? Excellent!... HEY MEWTWO! YOU CAN RIP PEOPLE'S HEADS OFF WITH YOUR PSYCHIC POWERS NOW!!! *pop*
  3. Lolz! I didn't see you in the Traverse, but I left Feros a while back. XD ZOMG
  4. There are other methods of obtaining such software, which i used before buying Max 8 since their demo download didn't work for me, lol. And downloading old 3DS Max programs (heck, even 8 now, techically) is the only way to obtain them (such as 6, the only version other than 8 that has ALO support).
  5. Technically. As it is, the GUI only supports two ability buttons. The only way around this would be to add some abilities as Passive abilities (such as Jedi ability to deflect blaster shots), or to modify the ALO models the GUI uses by adding more bones so more ability buttons can be displayed. That would allow you to (potentiall) add as many ability-button locations as you desire...I think... ;D
  6. Homeworld 2 engine doesn't use bumpmaps, so Warlords models don't have bump-maps. However, for EaW/FoC's engine to compare with HW2's, it needs it's one advantage: bump-map capability. Bump maps actually look better in EaW than modeled on details (due to the engine's lighting effects). Unless a model is in the multi-100k range of polies (such as the original Legacy SD model on scifi meshes), textures tend to look flat even with modeled details. Bump-maps give a 3d effect without having to model (significantly increasing poly count) all the tiny details of the texturing. But I digress. Use em or not, your choice. I'm just saying they'll look better if they get added. Either way, imagine high-polies...with bump maps. ;D Very good eye candy, lol.
  7. Firstly, those are not stock FoC models, so your point is now void. Secondly, they have vastly higher poly counts than stock FoC models, which in part makes up for the lack of bump maps (sheer laziness on the modders parts). But if you slap a stock ISD next to a Space Addon one, you'll find the lower-poly ISD with a bump map still looks better than the higher-poly ISD without it
  8. Nah, they'll be spouting shitty movies about World War II. God, I am SO SICK of hearing about World War II...
  9. oh ok...meh, it's not like i won't eventually disappear again anyway...*fades into nothing*
  10. without bump maps they just suck, i'm sorry, lol...
  11. Uh, what detail level you playing at? I run maxed graphics at 1600x900 resolution, and XWA models compared to stock EaW content utterly suck at that level. On lower detail levels EaW looks worse than XWA, which I suspect is what you're playing at...
  12. you can do all of that with notepad/wordpad and a string editor, but to add new art content (models, textures, icons, etc...) you'll need a bunch of other software. Luckily you can make new maps for your new planets with the map editor.
  13. Not really. It's 3DS Max (I think 6 or something, before Gmax got pulled) stripped down of all the best features. No rendering capability, and no export options outside of .GMAX (unless you're using some illegal third-party plugins ) really eliminate any usefulness except as a free practice program.
  14. Hey, so long as you avoid the children's anime and the manga (maybe, don't know much about it), Pokemon games rox sox, lol.
  15. Both are trash. Take it from a 3DS Max user. Nothing can compare except Maya.
  16. You get Diamond or Pearl yet? If not do it, they're awesome! ;D Yeah that's right. I Play Pokemon.
  17. Hey, didn't we just talk about testing like a few days ago? lol
  18. Everyone. If you're gonna put in XWA models, there are a lot of improvements that need to be made, which he listed.
  19. and ground units cross several XMLs while space only need one...
  20. lawlz... *jumps in speeding car*
  21. I'll say: "damn you college!!!" Plus, PFF is dead...there's like five posts a day here...
  22. Very good idea HK. Two thumbs up! ;D
  23. I was referring only to the models. The textures themselves for the most part have to be redone, or at the absolute least (if you're lazy) enhanced with bump-maps.
  24. no kidding...anyone have a .BIG editor that actually works on these cursed HW2 BIG files? None of the ones I can find work with them...
