I voted yes because more than likely everyone will want to post their battle pics and it would be better for the Bar forum if there was a specific area for threads with game pics. Otherwise the Bar will get flooded with threads involving pictures taken during games.

Sorry I just wanted to keep this in a safe place away from prying eyes of hyperactive people on the forum. This is also kind of damage control and pure speculation on my part. So on the Empire at War.net website in the demo download area there is an excerpt: "Wondering if you should purchase the best Star Wars RTS ever? Well, why not download the demo, free. Play as either the Empire or Rebel Alliance in a single player skirmish map or, jump to hyperspace and join hundreds online." The only thing I'm not sure about is if the second part is referring to the demo or the actual game. I hope it refers to the demo, but anyway just thought I'd post this up in here so that we can get a mp match going if the demo does have a mp portion.

The one GT because it owns the 6600s in SLI. The GT owns 6800GTs in SLI even so you'd get a card with maybe 3 or 4 times the performance of one 6600 and twice that at least of them in SLI.

I've just added this game to my must get list. Man it looks sweet. Anyone else planning on getting this game?

That's an awesome pc! Kicks mine in the rear and I built mine 6 months ago. You should be set for gaming for 3 years or so even with your system at those specs. My pc has this: AMD 64 3200+ 2 Gigs Corsair RAM 6800GTs in SLI 80 GB harddrive 200 GB harddrive Audigy 2 Sound Card Anyway you'll be able to play EaW totally maxed out (I hope I will be able to as well). Post some screens please of EaW when the demo comes.

I'm perfectly fine with the questions we have listed now. In all reality there is more than likely not that much left to unveil about this game. At least in my mind anyway.

Sorry I was just curious as to the status of the Q/A that we sent in over a month ago. I'm asking because I went over to EaW.net and they were having a mp q/a soon and that reminded me that we have not gotten ours back yet.

This is embarrasing. I got Civ4, the Movies, and Shattered Union like 2 and a half weeks ago. Civ4 is the only game of those that I have played so far. Well in one week I'll have plenty of time to get into the movies as well and maybe I'll make some ok movies.

Maybe it'll be something like the force-choke, which I would like to see used against a rancor. Seriously though, I wonder what power he has in hiding.

There is no reason you would need a joystick although in my opinion a joystick makes the space combat easier (easier to fly starfighters). Other than that, you can play with a joystick if that's how you feel comfortable or just use the traditional mouse and keyboard.

When you get in the game change the controls from the options menu. If you don't want to then go with what Popcorn posted and you'll be alright, although remember spacebar is for jumping.

Actually we've already known about the Death Star 1 not targeting capital ships for ages. I mean if they want to keep most of the units in the timeline, then they should at least keep the superweapons in the timeline as well (and vulnerable).

Please note that this is speculation* O.K. So from what I've seen the shields on planets cover only your base. This is not to mention that the shield generator is also outside of the shield area, making it easy to destroy (if not protected properly). Chances are that those are the only shields you can build.

Reread the last line of my post (unedited by the way) and you'll see that I said planets seen from the movies ep4-6.

The DS had planetary shields on it. To blow up the DS a hypervelocity gun would have to have a DS-powerful laser on it. Since that is unlikely (and expensive) I'm going to say that it wouldn't be able to kill the DS. Also I think that the hypervelocity gun is Imperial only....(not totally sure.) Sorry about the double post. I just wanted to address two different topics in separate posts.

Firstly welcome to the forums! I'm not sure about the DS defending itself either to be honest. We have seen no indication that the DS will be able to shoot turbolasers out for defense against capital ship assault. I really hope that it can do so, but right now I don't know for sure. Maybe some other people here can help you a bit better...

Yeah. When I heard him say you can play all of the worlds from the Star Wars galaxy I was just floored that LEC would let someone say that when it is clearly not true. That is blatant false advertising. I mean if I had not known about this game and heard them say that, then I would assume that every Star Wars planet I'd read about was going to be in. On a side note they may have been referring to every planet shown in the episodes 4-6. (not sure about Bespin though. haven't checked to see if it's in)

This game is going to reward those who go out and grab systems aggressively. The more planets, the more credits. Pop cap is loosely based on the number of planets and buildings on those planets If you try to play defensive with 5 worlds you only have maybe half the income of an offensive player with 10 worlds. That's not to mention that their cap is higher and they can bring in more units to battle.

I played some counter strike source for the first time in over a month. I went 8-1 before I quit. Do I need to say that that's one of the best scores I have had, even when I used to play 30 hours a week? Definitely amusing.

It's an awesome game. I had tried the Civ 3 demo and didn't like it, but I got Civ 4 on Ghostly's recommendation and it is great! A good TBS, especially if you are new to the genre (like me).
