  1. I'd agree ... but it means that maps would be downloadable .. ? Yeah I'm sure eventually they will get released to the community. Some people will probably share their maps as soon as they get it as well so they can play with their friends (like me) who can only spend $50 on it and therefore get the regular game.

  4. Well with the game Battlefront 1 LA released the map Jabba's Palace with the 1.02 patch, so I was just hopeful they would include the other stuff in a patch.
  5. I'd imagine that the special maps will eventually be released (legally) to the rest of the community at some point in time.
  6. I would have said ask a question about the pop cap. for space combat, but if we end up getting a demo this week then that would be on question that we could figure out ourselves. However here it is: We've heard that the population cap. will be set at 20, but that it will be hardly noticable. Could you tell us how much cap space the DS will take, how much a SD would take, and whether fighters count against that cap? That's just rough phrasing though, and like I said, we may not want to ask it with the possibility of a demo just around the corner.
  7. Well the demo should be out soon as DMUK confirmed that the demo has been completed. Since I believe I have successfully deciphered that there will be MP in the demo, I want to have a skirmish with my fellow PFF guild-members. Post here if you'd like to play the demo together for a skirmish some time (more than once of course. more like a few dozen times ).

  9. I think that's all the info that we need Delphi. Thanks! I seriously don't think that you guys are being fair to the pop cap limit thing. Just look at the screens and see the battles there and watch the gameplay videos. I know that from just seeing those, that if that is the pop cap then I will not be hindered in the slightest.
  10. I think instead of making us PC gamers pay for the extra stuff they should just add in the maps and heroes in a patch.
  11. Well for multiplayer certainly there needs to be a set population cap. Especially if you have a person with a 2 year old laptop versus someone with a high end computer. Also just look at the movies and screens and ask yourself "Isn't that battle size large enough for me?" The rebels succeed with hit and run tactics, so you won't be massing a huge fleet to pound away at the Imperials. This is accentuated by knowing a lot of the Imperial navy's movements and being able to strike where they are weak. I personally don't think that the pop cap will be detrimental to the game at all and I do have a high end computer to boot.

Well there is a slim chance anyone will respond, but here it goes: If you preorder the game from EBgames, Gamestop, or other online retailers you get a beta key for the closed beta, which launches this week. I was wondering who all has preordered or is interested in preordering this game and will get to participate in the beta event. Maybe we can play together some time?
  13. Just ignore him Phantom. Anyway this news has zero bearing on me getting the game. I have always wanted this game and just because it gets pushed back in development or it isn't moddable doesn't mean I still won't want to play it a lot.
  14. I'm thinking that you'll just need to look at the trailers and screenshots to see how big fleets will be. Maybe fighters won't count, small caps will count as 1, medium caps count as 2, and heavy caps count as 3, or something like that.
  15. Agreed. It's so easy to look at the negative with some of the news we've been getting lately, but every time I think about EaW I can't feel a feeling of anticipation because I know in spite of all the negative talk that this game is the game that I will play for many years.

  17. I said realism. As a Star Wars fan having seen the movies, read the books, and played many games I'd say that I enjoyed the games most where it was realistic and not cookie-cutter balanced.
  18. You aren't a dev of Empire At War, so don't speak about DEMO, release date, ... You have already done a mistake with Dev chat and another one today. Wait & See and stop fake news.... Firstly that's a personal attack in my book, although I can't do anything because I am not a mod or admin. It's not like DMUK makes up news. He just reports what is given. That's not "fake news", it's reality. Secondly since DMUK is not a dev then he should be able to talk about the demo and release date. Plus he is very well informed, more so than most of us. Thirdly don't take this as a flame or bash or whatever. I'm just correcting you on several points. Fourthly welcome to the forums, Fifthly next time use a PM so that we can't all see it.
  19. Or they found some new bugs, or they are tweaking some stuff....etc. C'mon let's have some optimism here! The complaining here is almost as bad as the LEC Forums. Just take the release date change with a grain of salt and figure that the game will be a little bit better.

  22. Welcome to the forums jedi mike! Since we don't know if you can retreat one ship or if have to retreat your whole force, I'm going to play it safe and say you'll have to retreat your whole force. However an alternative to retreating it out of the battlefield would be to just pull the ship back from the combat and hope that the enemy does not continue to attack it. Also you could have it run through all your ships and have your other ships kill off the ships persuing the ship that you want to save (hope you followed me through that )

  25. Nice videos, although there was not much action. I could not help but notice that the Venator has not made its way back onto the list of space units. Since it was not one of the videos released that raises my level of concern as to whether it will actually make its way into the final release of the game.
