  1. Well some of us are bogged down in work and school (you try to find time to play games when you have 5 tests and a project due within a week). ;D Incidentally that means I'm not getting EaW until later (probably the 25th of February).
  2. Well it now turns out that I'm going to wait until the 25th of February to get my Collector's Edition of Empire at War. I have too much school work to do and getting EaW will be a major distraction. ;D Enjoy the game in 2 days! I'll join you in a week and a half.
  3. Petroglyph's second game project that is being published by Sega. See the P-02 forum for the non-existent details we have on it.
  4. Well I have 5 tests this week in college so when I get it Thursday I will not have much time to play it right away. Then that Friday night (17th) there is a LAN party I may go to so I'll probably start playing on the 18th and play a lot.
  5. Could you explain exactly what is the trouble? Maybe we can help. I got mine off of Fileplanet and it works fine. Also the game takes a while to actually start up. It stayed at the splash screen for about 4 minutes before actually starting the game (after double-clicking the icon).
  6. Well the game has already gone gold so it's possible they (Petro) sent the finished version to them to be reviewed.
  7. The funny thing is that I never dissed BFME2. I said it was vastly improved over the original, but that overall I preferred EaW for gameplay.
  8. This game looks awesome. I had Star Trek: Fleet Command 3 which was a fun game and I hope this is like it.
  9. So um is anyone still interested? We could have it a week from tomorrow (18th). Does that work? I need some input guys!
  10. You gotta love it when you post on a BFME 2 board that you found EaW slightly better after comparing the EaW demo to the BFME 2 beta. "Fanboy!" they cried.
  11. Well that picture with the X-Wings was from all the way back at E3 2005 (March isn't it? I forget) so you can bet it has been removed (because the devs said so).
  12. You're also forgetting good capitalization and punctuation as well. It almost makes the eyes bleed sometimes. ;D
  13. He "lost" a power pack. Or rather it was stolen from him (by a ranat I believe).
  14. I've had it mess up my PC but all in all a simple solution allowed me to boot up my computer after all. It's more of a hassle than anything and yes there are some adverse effects (I had to unplug my USB devices for it to boot). However you can remove it so you could play the game and then remove StarForce. P.S. Ghostly Supreme Commander got pushed back to Q1 2007 so that pretty much cements the fact that I will get either SH3 or SH4.
  15. Well the thing is that StarForce doesn't actually kill your PC (just slows it down some and installs some drivers). The people who wrote the protection system even say they'll pay you $5000 if you can prove that StarForce actually messes up PCs (you have to do it on a PC they provide I believe). Since either unplugging USB devices or other things allows the computer to boot they can claim that it hasn't ruined your PC. It is a major hassle though and therefore I have decided to not purchase any games with StarForce protection unless the game in question is one I very much desire (like an EaW or something).
  16. I can testify to personally having had a StarForce issue. After I installed CodeName: Panzers 1 & 2, I played them a little bit. Then I got the update patch for #2. The installation went well and it asked me to reboot my PC. I clicked yes. My computer proceeded then to start to boot, but never got past the very first boot cycle (where it shows you your devices). I tried everything I could think of to restart and it still would not boot. The only reason I am still using my PC today is that my dad found something about it screwing up USB devices, so when I unplugged them all then my PC booted. Needless to say I am not going to play another SF game again (learned my lesson). However for a couple of hours I thought my PC was going to be a vegetable for the duration of its existence.
  17. teh roffelzzzz ;D
  18. I wish they'd make a RC-like SW RPG from 3rd person. You'd go around and customize your unit (4-5 soldiers) and buy new weapons and armour. Their skills would increase as they levelled up and it would let you place their skill points and create specializations for you different soldiers (like RC).
  19. Oh no here comes the pressure lol. I seriously think Ghostly will win in the end, but I'm not going to lay down and let him flatten me. Oh well Ghostly and I and many others will probably play more EaW together after the tourney is over anyway. I agree that this is more a fun competition than a real slug it out for bragging rights.
  20. I'm gonna get my clock cleaned by an admin.
  21. They (EA) said there will be a sp demo some time before launch so everyone will get a chance to try it out. I thought the beta was meh because there were only 2 maps for the longest time (which were very boring). I do admit that it is better than the original though.
  22. 498-382. Woot! I think BFME2 will be ok (have played the beta), but I just like EaW better.
  23. Gen. Vader is right that it wouldn't happen of course, but still... The game industry is large enough to have a say in it (big business you know). Anyway I was just posting that tidbit of news up there to see what you people thought about it. When I first read it I was afraid that I'd never be able to game again if prices jumped 100%.
  24. Now I do not really play many awfully violent games. I passed on fear and Quake4 because they were too scary for me. However upon seeing this article on Gamespot I couldn't help but feeling outraged. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/news/story.php?sid=6143114 For those of you who don't want to read it I'll summarize: A republican candidate wants to lower taxes in some areas but wants to increase them for soda (up to 50 % tax on beverages with sugar in them) and "violent" video games (100% tax!). Most video games are considered violent of a type (either shooting/killing or whatever). I think games are expensive enough at $50 but to have to pay a 100% tax (doubling the price), games will become almost prohibitively expensive. Now I don't think that it will go through (and keep in mind it is only for the state of Texas), but still what if enough parents thought that video games were a danger enough to tax the heck out of them like alcohol and cigarettes? Mostly adults vote (compared to those 18-24 or so) so it could possibly happen... I personally can't see this happening but I still fear that there is a possibility... Your guys' (and gals') thoughts?
  25. That's true. Let me put this in perspective. You're a rebel insurgency on the run almost constantly from Imperial forces. There are almost no manufacturing firms in the galaxy willing to help you and risk the wrath of the Emperor. So basically you have to steal what you can and use it. Hence they stole the old equipment from clone wars era to use. Also you have to keep in mind that the rebels did not have near the amount of money to finance building their own customized tanks and whatnot.
