i voted 80-83 just because those were the years that saw the release of both ESB and ROTJ... and those movies both rocked.. i got to see ROTJ in the theaters.. so maybe thats why i remember that year fondly.. but i really got into it more from 83 on... but still.. if we are talking the best years for star wars i really think 80-83 because thats when the fan base solidified in my opinion.. or at least became an actual entity that was acknowledged.. oh and as I was reading through the thread (I had more than 2 pages to make up) I was about to go find a picture of the box set Def was talking about.. from the net or my pictures of my stuff (i catalog my belongings).. then i saw the scans nice scans def... thats the one i thought you were talking about.. the only set of the movies i like really... even though I own a few of the released versions from there on... i still think those are the best..

Just a quick rebuttal on my part ( I have to get back to work.)... I'm not going to post a link to it nor show it, just out of courtesy for all the victims and those touched by this tragedy, however... one of the pictures of the assailant shows him brandishing a hammer.... does this mean we need stricter hammer laws?.. Obviously everyone will answer no... but whats not to stop people from thinking like that? This guy, along with any other criminal could use any weapon his twisted mind chooses to use.. stricter gun laws wont decrease crime... it will only make it easier for those who want to commit it, as the average person will be unarmed not willing to go through the red tape to own a simple semi-automatic hand gun. I highly disagree with the term "assault weapons" this is a term that originated in the mainstream media (you wont find that documented anywhere though).. and it is quite different from the term "assault rifle".. anyway... the only true classifications that should be used in terms of gun law should be semi-automatic and automatic... Watch this, i think this is educational. If you are telling me that i cant have a weapon to defend my family who is threatened from a perveted home invader that wants to steal my stuff and rape my daughter then you sir are the criminal. I've been trying to search for the news articles but have yet to find them... (which is odd) as this has happened quite regularly in the area i live in. The several cops I know in my family tree tell me cops are trained to subdue, and NOT kill... at ALL costs... unless the suspect is HIGHLY resistive and dangerous....

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet... I agree with everything Tex has to say. And if one person on that campus had been carrying... that all would have been over before it started. And let me ask.. those who are so opposed to guns.. have you shot one before? Many people think its a simple point and shoot.. but it takes some effort to load, arm and fire a weapon.. and someone who can do that towards his/her fellow man is a severely disturbed human being.. and even with more gun control that person would do it with something else if not an illegally purchased gun if he really intended to.

But imagined if he had moved off campus or gone on to speed out of the state, or go shoot people elsewhere or whatever.. had they shut down the campus and found nothing it would have caused a stir and disruption which would have been deemed unnecessary. Quite possibly to the extent that someone, somewhere would have complained, possibly even sued (and won) the university for damages.. so far to the point to where this guy could have been fired as president of the university. I can entirely see that happening in this country.. hence i really think this guy was watching out for his own ass.... damned if you do and damned if you dont.. just a question.... does anyone know what kind of rules regulates the president of a university?.......... anyone?......... didnt think so... i dont think we should all be so quick to judge.. Lets run a scenario... you are the head of someplace and the police call your office: "Sir, there's been a shooting in Dormitory A. Suspect on foot." "Ok, shut the building down, commence a search for him." "We think hes already off campus." What would you do? I think the response of "Shut the building down, and search for suspect on campus with discretion" would be an appropriate response.

SOCL, as I'm sure you are aware of this.. we already are living in an environment of possible mutual extermination.. and use weapons as a deterrent... hence our strategy of "Nuclear Deterrence". Which I'm guessing you disagree with? However I'm quite comfortable living in this world with such a strategy, mainly due to the fact that it makes people stop and think if they really want to attack. If we had no possible threat of a nuclear retaliation the world would have been a desolate, scarred and radiated hunk of rock with the exception of the country which had nukes first.. while others were still developing them.. oh.. and its allies. If you knew that everyone walking around could possibly have a firearm... you would be more hesitant to threaten them. Besides.. if we got rid of firearms all together.. for the average civilian.. then who do you think would have the guns??! (I'll quote Rob here) Professional criminals and even the casual criminal would be the ones carrying the guns at that point thanks to the black market.. and we would have no way to defend ourselves from them. So its a communist plot to thwart the capitalist regime?!?!

Some interesting news about dinosaurs. Which isnt all that new... but new "proof".. yay! Apparently calling a group of people "nappy headed ho's" is a racial slur.. I'm not a racist, and I don't think thats a racist slur. Al Sharpton did, and look what he's done. For those outside the U.S. (or in) that may not have heard... I do think though that it was an insensitive thing to say, and he did need to apologize to the team. Suspending him for 2 weeks was enough.. but everyone else didnt think so... so now hes fired. I'm scared whats coming next in this country sometimes.

I have a question.. Does anyone know if George Lucas himself, or someone he has authorized, clearly stated that the Executor class was indeed over 17km long? I'm curious because just thinking about it all... it seems so ridiculous.. and I know we can all argue scale in the movie.. but i dont think thats enough personally... i mean.. its a movie... and we all know better than anyone.. that lucas especially never really cares about feasibility.. i find it possible the model was that big just for grins.. and shock value.. but anyway.. so yea?.. anyone know?

It is a christian site.. unfortunately.. this guy is just up there with the like of the Westboro Baptist Church.. which I wont even link you to their page.. cuz i dont even want to type it in.... so there is its wiki page... but yes budious.. it is a christian site.. with chrisitan comics made by a christian cartoonist... ive had them handed to me before by several religious groups here in the south...

Those "comics" so to speak are very disturbing to me.. have you ever seen any of them in their entirety? They can be pretty crazy.. at least to me... I went to go see the hills have eyes two on thursday night.. that movie really really sucked.. the first one was awesome though.. thats why i was motivated to the second.. anyway.. it was so bad.. just to feel good as i was leaving the movie theaters in total disappointment at 11:55 PM.. i peered into the theater showing 300 just in time to catch the persian "immortals" and their mutant in battle.... and i felt good.. hahaha.. im considering going to see that movie a fourth time... lol

hehe.. my favorite team of all time is the blackhawks, only because I was raised in Illinois... all my all time fav's are from chicago.. Bulls... Bears... Cubs.. I know.. I know.. not a good track record.. anyways.. but now through my many years of growing up i have learned to love those which are not only from my old stomping grounds.. now i love the Spurs for basketball and the Calgary Flames for Hockey... with a close second being the New Jersey Devils... but I still am a die hard Cubs and Bears fan... GO FLAMES!!!

yea.. i used to be posting quite a bit but with work and all.. recently its been tough to get on here and get that post count up.. heh.. oh and you're welcome guys I try to help out when I can.... and trust me.. that quick C to F conversion helped me double check plenty of test questions throughout high school and college... not much use for it now in the aerospace industry (at least not in the job i have...) but its still useful from time to time..
