Rebellion for sale on the Lucasarts website
JediHunter replied to generik's topic in General Discussion
Yes Tofu... however... this: Does not coincide with this: And so people would be left confused by a link to the rebellion main site.. since the conversation was over lucasarts.com selling the game.. don't get me wrong Tofu.. its nice you were doing something to help out people... it just also helps to point people to the site in discussion... and yes.. i realize the rebellion site is hosted on lucasarts.com.. but again.. thats not what was being discussed.. nor referenced -

silly Tofu ... here's the link you should've put.. if you click view two from here... thats where you get the funky picture of Han... -
yea, thats kinda my feeling about it too... i always imagined about the clone war being this huge epic battle between the republic and a bunch of clones that were an invading army or something of the sort... i remember my brother and i used to talk about it alot (we were into the star wars roleplaying game at one point) and i think he may have even read something about it... what they showed in the prequel was not the clone war in my opinion.. it was a sad attempt at working in a bit of exciting action to progress the story.... AND HE DIDNT EVEN SHOW THE STINKING WAR!!!!.. thats what gets me the most upset... anyways.. im gonna read another thread and cool down...

Wait... wait... there's an episode 11?! or did you mean VI.. as in episode 6.. as in... Return of the Jedi.. anyways.. in response to, and in support of you, Jahled.. have you ever seen Clerks by Kevin Smith? There's a great scene where they discuss which is better Empire or Jedi.. and of course Dante (the main character) responds Empire.. ok.. im gonna find it.. one sec.. ok here it is.. sums it up quite nice no?.. hehe

Its not odd Tofu... I'm not a sims lover.. so why would i know it?.. Thanks Krytos .. yea i was a bit shocked by those questions... I'm just old enough to have played most the games and remember about how old I was when I did.... and stuff like that... hell.... the last question about the XCOM series... I still have that game on a bookshelf in my house.

Tex... number 1 sums it all up for me.. hehehe.. good way to put it there.. i have to agree with you.. it was nothing like any of us wanted or imagined.. Number two i agree with as well.. and would add more character development of Darth Tyranus and General Grievous... in fact i dont think those characters had to be introduced at all really... they shouldve kept Maul alive through Ep. III... that way the story didnt have to worry about character development of another antagonist... just as the OT didnt.. so yea... blah..

hahaha... that was pretty funny...

It wasnt a french accent in the english version Eagle.. heh.. I'm not going to be P.C. here.. but it was an asian accent for us.... rather racist too if i might add... anyways.. what i hated about the prequels?..... 1. Jango Fett 2. C3PO being built by Ani 3. "Ani" 4. Gungans 5. R2D2's "Anit-grav" boosters or whatever they were.. errmmm.. i could go on for a good while.. but ill leave it at that for now..

ok.. you mean the way Canada did? As an incremental process that lasted from 1867 until 1982?.. I'm quite happy with the way we did it thank you... Not that Canada is any worse off or anything.. but I'm quite happy living in a country that has had more than 200 years of independence in order to work out the idiocy in the government.. only to allow it back in eventually...

Yes, but what brought about this "change in the times" I ask... perhaps the forward thinking of a few rebellious colonials? And the fact that they won helped too I'm sure.. but think of it.. what if noone ever questioned the rule they were under.. we could still be paying for goods and services in pounds and paying taxes to the queen... whos to say if the change would've happened anyway.. the "age of kings" was coming to an end and it was facilitated by the revolution of many colonies (not just the American).. at least.. in my opinion.. but I'm just an engineer.. not an historian..

My answer is yes, the empire really is evil.. the writter of the blog uses the movies and ignores the EU, this is fine and dandy.. since I dont know the EU i actually was quite relieved... however, the writter uses the movies solely to support his arguements, therefore only including the references which supports him and not those which prove him wrong... a good persuasive article will first show both sides equally, then make you support one, and then prove it wrong and make you side with the other... which they were supporting in the first place.

Several things.... 1) The rebellion is fictional and thus irrelevant. 2) Even so, if it were not irrelevant, the destuction of an imperial planet if innocent life was spared.. is not evil, its war. 3) Holding all things constant, such as "Britain being power hungry" as you put it, do you still find the American Revolution to be pointless? and finally 4) Evil can be defined in relative terms and in absolute... and I was not speaking relatively.. shooting your own men to take down some of the enemy is evil said and done.. if you want to get into relatively speaking evil then yes.. everyone is at some point....

they still are heartless bastards.. just kidding.. anyways.. I forget in which battle it was but General Cornwallis, seeing that he was losing the battle, actually ordered for cannon shot to be fired into the battlefield... into the backs of his own men.. he did this with full knowledge that he was going to hit his own men but also hit many continentals.. (cannon shot is like shotgun blasts from a cannon.. many little balls flying through the air).. he did this and thus caused the retreat of the continental army.. but with many losses.. it was a british victory by definition but actually considered a british defeat by amount of losses and other things.. im sure someone here will elaborate soon.. anyways.... hell yea the american revolution was warranted.. the americas were taxed, ruled and laws were made without any word to the colonies until after it was done.. "No taxation without representation"..

Thinking about buying a used copy of Rebellion...
JediHunter replied to generik's topic in General Discussion
Rebellion was sold (originally) before any mainstream use of CD keys or other kinds of superficial copyright security.. so its ok to buy a used copy from someone on ebay and make it yours -
