  1. Ultimately the 2005~2007 era will yield you the most posts. That was when Mad, Tofu and I were at our worst as far as time spent on the forums/spamming went. I wonder if E could pull up some forum posts per day numbers....
  2. Welcome back, Tofu. It's been a while. Relative to when I disappeared (and some of this is not going to be news, but I can't remember what I've updated on, and I'm too lazy to go back and look), I graduated with a BS in Psychology, got married (no kids, and none in the foreseeable future), received a promotion at work (I'm now management, and implementing programming for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, plus driving all over southwest Wisconsin), my wife and I have bought a house and adopted a dog. We now have three nieces and 3 nephews on her side and 2 nephews on mine. We each have a sibling who will be attending college in town (at my alma mater) starting after Labor Day. So who else do we need to have check in? My list includes (and add to it, by all means) SOCL, Tex, Mad, Krytos, Jahled, Scath and JediHunter. On a side note, have you seen GMC's last ZW2 post? He wrote it and had me edit it before he died, and I finally decided to forget the story's order and proxy-post it for him.
  3. Looks pretty neat. I might have to consider donating. I'm reluctant in the long run simply because I don't have a computer worth playing anything made in the last 3-5 years on. (Short run reason not to donate is that I don't have the wiggle room in my budget right now.)
  4. When you open the link click on "File" then "Download", or on your keyboard Ctrl+S. I am guessing that the errors are a result of trying to download compressed files (notice that it is a .rar) without your system knowing that they'll need extracting. Try again downloading the whole .rar and let us know if it works for you.
  5. Late arrival and all, but I won't be buying an Xbox One. I have a 360, and rather enjoy it, but I refuse to buy into what they're trying to sell in the next generation. The only Sony console I own (or have owned) is a PS2, so it looks like I'll be buying the even numbered Sony systems.
  6. I have my computer up and running again! I've downloaded and installed xna redistributables 3.1 and 4.0. I still can't open the exe.
  7. My wife and I have adopted a bulldog mix. She's ~6 years old, and was taken to the local Humane Society because of a personality conflict with the previous owners' other dog. So far she doesn't like car rides, but can you really blame her when the last one resulted in being abandoned? We have named her Toph. Bonus points to the first who can name the reference without the aide of an internet search. Photo linked below. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/image.jpg
  8. I understand that Tofu's post is over four years old now, but I just noticed it after many years of absence. I thought I would provide more details, and/or an update, as I wasn't involved with Kiva at the time Tofu posted. When you sign up with Kiva you do in fact get to make a $25 loan at no cost to you. This is how they attract people. The money is provided by someone in the Kiva leadership/board of directors/insert appropriate group label here. Unless I am horribly mistaken, as it's been a few years since my first Kiva loan, as the loan is repaid the money goes to whoever fronted it for the new member to loan out. From that point you can either put up your own money to make loans or convince other people to join from an invite you send them. When someone you invite joins Kiva both of you get $25 worth of Kiva credit. I have made four loans so far. Three have been paid back, in full, and the last is currently in its repayment phase. I've put out $25 of my own money. That went to loans 2-4. So far I haven't lost anything, and I can get my money back between loans if I want. My wife has paid in between $50 and $100, and also hasn't lost anything. The minimum amount you may loan is $25. That may not have been the case when Tofu posted, so I won't call him a liar. If anyone would like an invitation PM me your preferred email address, and I will get one to you, likely within 24 hours. http://kiva.org
  9. That's what we're here for. It took me a long time to make the connection myself, so you shouldn't feel bad.
  10. I will absolutely get those installed then, just as soon as I take care of the Trojan that corrupted one of my system32 files. My disc drive crapped out on me a few months back, and I never got around to replacing it. It'll be next Friday before I can consider getting one, maybe longer with having just adopted our bulldog last night. Thanks for the help, guys.
  11. On a semi-related note, congress is looking into expanding the CFAA. I have a link to a petition for any who are interested in telling them not to.
  12. Seems like a dumb move on Disney's part, but then the target audience has clearly changed with the new corporate owners. 1313 may not happen anymore, but it is still possible, under a different developer.
  13. http://youtu.be/2NKwwejhW0g This is me unpacking and trying to open the .exe file. If anyone can identify what I'm doing wrong, or tell me what files need to be added/moved/deleted please do so. If no one can help I might have to follow Tex's example and refrain from participating in the testing phase.
  14. If you have no refined materials production pauses, with the ultimate result being that the original 12 days becomes something longer than that. If you encounter this problem a lot you should build more refineries. When you reserve a facility (specifically construction yards and training facilities) the protocol droid assistant can't use them when managing production and/or troops.
  15. I did that and nothing happened. I'll try with my wife's computer later today and report back.
  16. I'm seeing a 0kb download at this link. Is there a problem at my end or with the server?
  17. I downloaded windowsgame6.rar. After unpacking it, I find four .exe files. Each file, when I try to open them, I get the following dialog box: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/SWRebellionerror.jpg The only difference between the error messages is the name of the file. Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong?
  18. Looks like genuine spam to me, E.
  19. So not GIFs, but I couldn't find a dedicated art thread. I also didn't really want to create a new thread, so here we go: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/3CA0A672-F82B-4FB5-A509-A31F13871D61-1574-0000012EE4D117A7.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/E0582D13-8F9C-44C5-80E2-B31F7346D19D-1574-0000012EDA898A8D.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/F4FD88E6-9940-412B-A834-511A21183805-1574-0000012ED55E42C0.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/4960B58B-6F13-476C-9FE7-361BF35808DF-1574-0000012ECE00B4EC.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/F9407296-5EF0-47E3-9ED9-82AED24E5D06-1574-0000012ECAAA99C4.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i248/Mitth_raw_nuruodo/74866B57-B2AC-44BB-9E16-1A9175570ED2-1574-0000012EC8E7F396.jpg I'm not sure who the original creator is, but Bruja found them on tumblr. She follows a Trekie/Star Wars fan there.
  20. If nothing else you could combine the two fleets, take command of the battle and tell your bombers to return to their ship/carrier before they launch. This cuts down on your pre-invasion work and saves your bombers for the bombardment.
  21. Their Kickstarter page shows they've exceeded their $50,000 goal by some $8,000 and change. Now we just wait to see what comes as a result.
  22. So I just got an email about SOPA, and thought I'd share for those who might be interested.
  23. Okay, I'm kind of reluctant to admit it, but I would probably watch that if it was turned into a feature length movie.
  24. I would still rather keep the connection speeds where they are at currently, as my DSL connection is slow enough as it is. Granted, I'm not downloading anything specifically listed in CISPA 2.0 and my ISP isn't one of those specifically listed, but if we let the major providers get away with it then it's most likely only a matter of time before the little ones band together to demand they be allowed to as well.
  25. Next attempt is CISPA. If they can't get what they want the first go-round, they'll just reword it and slow your connection speed down.
