  1. Yeah...GL typically pissing on the EU as usual. In my view thank god. What i've now been exposed to of the EU is not just up and above the fairies, but well and truely beyond what can even be almost believed (taken what I just said into consideration) given it's all ultimately fantasy/sci-fi. Whilst it's mildly entertaining to leave a copy or two of some of the ultimately cringe-inducing Rogue-super-hero-team-rebel- alliance-squadron lounging around my bathroom for a muse in the bath, there is no way any of this rubbish can be considered worthy of anything remotely resembling canon. Dark Empire is simply worse. The EU books... already said my piece here or elsewhere... but in my mind the entire EU was a penny filler to keep us entertained (mildly) and in my mind is so dreadfull I don't take any of it seriously, or canon (whatever that can possibly mean). But this is only my own humble opinion.
  2. I do the remaining option...
  3. Which is why I use RebEd not to use Vevel Lemdip. Waste of a good character slot from which a good character can be developed! I like character development, expanding skills etc. Jevel Wimpflop is simply to pathetic to even begin to contemplate where to be begin, your Vader quote not with standing... I found this to be consistant playing either side.
  4. Why thankiness Teukros for reminding me about Vangelis! You've just reminded me about the score from Bladerunner I possess. I wonder what rebellion is like with Bladerunner music?[/about to find out mode]
  5. Gat's got a point regarding Akbar, but am I alone in always wondering what do with Bevel Lemsip once all R&D efforts have been exhausted? Before that wonderous day I discovered RebEd he ended up just kinda keeping the Emperor company on Coruscant. No wonder he was a bit wierd. The Force. If I remember correctly in unedited games you always have six minor characters who are potential force users, no more, no less.
  6. I assume no responsibilty for how you enjoy your food....
  7. I find myself doing that a lot. I happen to know for a fact* that Mask is mid-way though a spiritual guide about how to cope with life's problems, especially here. Back up your modified-rebellion folders perhaps... *This may not be entirely true. ...Yet.
  8. Quob nibbla attooini!
  9. To quote GL's own hand in the original book, TIE-fighters had better lasers etc, the rebels ships were described as 'antiques,' and your very correct tactical anaysis beggers belief given the Death Star is 'the size of a small moon.' It's rather like unleashing a few kites to defeand an aircraft carrier full of F16s against a determined attack of WW2 Spitfires.... And this whole TIE issue that has blown out of all proportion in the EU erks my sense of logic.... OBi Wun states of the TIE fighter they encounter over the remains of Alderaan, 'It's a short range fighter.' Which would indicate the Empire had long-range fighters (with all the hyperspace unrealistic rubbish the rebels seem to enjoy). Given the Empire is the government of the galaxy, there can't be to many military alternatives with any realistic military clout. ...I do however like fairy tales...
  10. lol Gosh a post that more or less agrees with my relection on this Star Wars nonsense. Why am I here? The movies are after all as realistic as the Grim's Brothers in so far as what the rebels achieve in any of the movies, the fluffy Ewoks taking out a legion of the Emperor's 'finest shocktroops' with a small 'crack team' of rebels, and the lunacy of the firefight going on above them.... Next time the UK goes to war i'll write an informative letter to the PM advising the tactical genius of rapidly converting some cross-channel civilian ferries to military use to defeat battle ships a mile in leangth. I do like a good fairy tale however...
  11. A perfect example from Darksaber of utter EU lunacy. I said this before, but it's absurd story lines like this which turn me off Star Wars, and is why I cringe when anything EU is quoted as canon. I mean who needs capital ships filled with fighter squadrons and troops when a bunch of jedi-students can throw a fleet of them into the next sector with the force? Given the Jedi are about to be wiped-out by clone troopers in Ep III (which we've seen in some spoilers), one must take all this expanded EU stuff with a sack-full of salt. This is a perfect example of why the UK shouldn't be part of the European Union.
  12. http://img16.exs.cx/img16/3679/stardestroyer25qk5tt.gif* Hope it helps out a bit. *Observe with pre-second world war French music....
  13. Yo dude. Without any modifications with RebEd you will always have at least six of your characters who are force-capable. Me is surprised you found eight, given I had assumed without any adjustments with RebEd, six was hard-coded into the game files, and max as far as minor people went. Guess not!
  14. Actually this thread has made me start weeping as well! Can a moderator please lock it, i've just burst into tears again. Everybody has done this again and again over the years to the same meaningless and pointless conclusions... ....though if I see a someone wearing Vulcan-ears for what remains of tonight, he will die.
  15. Perhaps true LF, but there is one factor no one has mentioned; George Lucus has created his entire Star Wars vision completely outside of the normal Hollywood studio system... and still is. Whilst I do not want to see anything on the silverscreen even close to the expanded-universe crap I am constantly told is canon, what JediIgor muttered earlier may be some hint of things to come... but god-forbid if based on anything like the stocking-fillers like Dark-Empire, Rogue Squadron comics, or the books...that increasingly turn me off further interest in anything Star Wars... for the movies seemed to me something other than the Avengers or the Defenders conquering all, without doubt of outcome or any injury....
  16. Chanson?
  17. That makes sense to me! Same this side of the water...
  18. The truth behind how the Jedi were wiped out.... http://i140.exs.cx/img140/9894/jedininja28oz.gif They were caught off guard watching one of Lord_La_Forges's Ninjitsu demonstrations.
  19. For purposes of file size I only used six frames. As it is the frame speed is on 0.1. I tried 0.2 and it didn't seem to work.* Perhaps then I should use more frames.... Edit: Nine frames... http://i147.exs.cx/img147/8855/stardestroyer25qk.gif I'll add text if people say it's not crap....
  20. ....the plot thickens....
  21. Perhaps I didn't use enough layers. I'll give it another shot. But I think what E originally asked for was something we can use to appeal to a wider audiance who might not be aquianted with psychotic felines, lightsaber-wielding Koalas, or fiendish sith-empowered Macaws.... lol Edit: any better? http://i137.exs.cx/img137/7702/sd8gf.gif
  22. Ozzel haunted British TV screens when I was a child in a kid's TV show called 'Grange Hill,' where he played a teacher with more or less the same mentality as his Imperial character... Crap link
  23. I don't appear to have the option of doing so....
  24. ..speaking of St.Patrick's day... did you know he was Welsh? Kidnaped by a very violent tribe of the Irish called the Gails? Did you also know that the so called 'loyalists' in the North of Ireland are the Scots who migretated to Scotland FROM Ireland intime for the Romans to name Scotland after it's hardest tribe? It was these guys who migretted back to the the north of ireland with subsequent non-catholic beliefs that have remained steadfast to the British Crown. Julias Ceaser highlighted the incredible energy of military conquest that the Romans demonstrated. He finnished his campaigns in Gaul with about a million slaves. I think only the Qin dynesty of ancient China could match such a record for military conquest..and triamph.. though they passed into history far sooner than the Romans.
  25. Sorry about the voting options, this nuke php thingy is a bit wierd.
