  1. ...ok' i'm still curious...what was/is it?
  2. ..my girlfriend hates it, she won't let me keep it in it's stand on the mantle piece and keeps droping hints she wants me to get rid of it, so it has to live under our bed with the bed-monsters...I guess when it comes to the bedroom, the girls have the final say...sigh...
  3. ...emm...I don't know if your pulling my leg... if you're a little stuck naming the Emperor's Capital ships there's a few places you can go for names that have appeared in the SW universe. The_Mask has a file on his web page, there's an absolutely huge database at theforce.net, and failing all that a google web-search for Imperial Ship Names should bring up the usual 98,000 results... Personally I like having fleets of Star Destroyers like: Virulance, Avenger, Bellicose, Medusa, Stormbringer, and Peremptory....etc, gives games that genuine feel..... then of course you've got a Thesaurus to play around with....if you play your games in English... [/i]
  4. That's a kinda curious scenario, Luke in Limbo. I wonder if we've stumbled on a design-flaw in the game....I struggle to imagine how this could have been overlooked by the designers, though. Perhaps his combat & espionage are so high he's sort of 'bouncing' in and out of Imperial systems...
  5. I must confess to be curious about SWRE, the link at forcecommander has long since been dead. Anyone here still got it on their hard drive?
  6. Maurice Gibb, the linchpin of the Bee Gees, has sadly died. For those of you to young to remember the seventees; the Bee Gees did the sound track to Saturday Night Fever, refecting the Disco scene in 70's New York, with the immortal 'Stayin Alive,' and 'More than a woman.' So, so long dude; dance floors will seem emptier without you...may the force be with you.
  7. emm...you don't have to capture Leia....just Mon Mothma and Luke Skywalker...and take out the Rebel base.....
  8. (bows dramaticly, sweeps floopy hat with peacock feather across the board) ..I was always destined to play the Dane....
  9. ...What a strange desire, Mr La Forge! Well, i've got a quick fast track solution for you! Move to the States, register to vote, and tick 'Bush.' He seems very eager to nudge the world into implosion....
  10. ,.... ....yeessssss.....complete and utter OBLITERATION.....he he he.....
  11. Hang on! We don't want the Alliance to be able to assassinate anyone! There's is a higher cause, in conduct and aspiriation, than the facsist-Empire. If Imperial characters accidently get killed during kidnap missions, then so be it. But to intentionly set about to assassinate the enemy goes against the spirit of the Alliance cause. We can 'neutralize,' Imperial personel by safely depositing them in a secure detention centre, like the one on Danuta. Lets hope the Empire don't have any Kyle Katarns...
  12. Ok, i've got to change my apparent-tune on this one and agree with Evaders99 on this one. Despite the frustration of the game not being commercially available anymore for you guys who don't have a copy, it is available online out there! My two previous posts detailed my finding of two copies, and that was in ten minutes of google-searching! If you're determined to get a copy of Star Wars Rebellion/Supremacy you can. On a more serious note, i'm quite anxious for swrebellion.com to keep going. It concerns the first game I installed on my first PC; whose appeal has outlived the various Command & Conquer titles, seen and gone Force Commander, Rogue Squadron, homeworld, the delta force series, and many other games. It's no accident Supremacy has remained on my hard drive! It's continuity is now being rewarded with progressive face-lifts for the game; new ship models, easily imported into the game, and progressive projects I assume inspired and molded by the forum contributor's imput and ideas. All of this is injecting a very healthy dose of life into a game long since abandoned by it's dollor-visered creater....and there I think Evaders99 has a valid point. Lucasarts arn't entirely blinkered idiots. They're a commercial arm of an outfit a year or two away from releasing the most anticipated film in cinematic-history, the final installment of the Star Wars saga! Check out the shear volume of Star Wars games Lucasarts have been releasing; it's astonishing! The more so because recent titles such as Jedi Outcast and Rogue Squadron II have actually seen the quality of their products, how shall I put it; resume 'normal,' levels. (>shear excellance!) Their not dumb enough to leave Rebellion's genre out in the dark...to the Star Trek loby. Nope! You can bet your two big-toes their money-motivated game interests will turn it's doller-fueled fury back to unfinished business... Given you can get a copy of the game reasonably easily on the internet, lets bury this topic, throw our flowers, and be happy this web-site isn't a forum advocating anything Lucasarts might consider 'undesirable,' to their commercial-interests, and subsequently being closed. Stalingrad would be pale in significance...
  13. ..I survived....I think.... The Arsenal were victorious....
  14. ..and here: http://www.planet-interkom.de/boris.szukala/Games.htm So I guess if I can find two copies in ten minutes a little bit of patience is going to get a copy on the web!
  15. Hay guys, look what I just stumbled onto...a copy of Star Wars Supremacy for sale; here's the link: http://listings.ebay.co.uk/pool1/plistings/list/all/category3606/page2.html?from=R4
  16. Wrong again! Sadly, i've got to report I don't think there are any additional eggs concerning Leia on the Death Star and her escape. Those WAV file revealed by Resource Hacker arn't appearing. I've tried everything. Leia's captured on one of these Death Stars, and i've tried everything to rescue her, just to try and sqeeze out some unheared sounds..... I guess, there are elements in the game that were abandoned by the programers and will never happen during game-play. Damn!
  17. Dude, you put that final point quite articulately... My original point was along the lines of when you suffer from the dreaded 'natural disaster,' why not make it sort of dramatic; sort of similar to the effect of the Death Star vaporising your system. As they stand, natural disasters are just irritating....occuring infrequently, always it seems when you don't need the hassle.....if they could be made to occur less frequently perhaps the drama and consequence of suffering from one would be all the more theatrical with a total system obliteration... i'm not suggesting characters need to perish, however! Perhaps their research offices were right next to evacuation shuttles....sort of thing....
  18. Gosh! I'm genuinely quite flattered! Respect! I'll look into this tomorrow, despite the fact Arsenal are playing Birmigham on the TV, which means i'll be forced to go to the pub, and subsequently probably be pissed out my mind by the time I get back home and decide what a good idea it will be to turn on the computer and attempt advanced things like creating a web-site, or...(more usually)...tweaking my settings to the extent a) I wont remember what i've done, and b) it will be pointless knowing what i've done, because it will be completely unsalvagable.... given this, it's possible we might not speak for a while....
  19. Got to say, i'm very curious about some of the dlls Resource Hacker reveals, like the 'lowering flag,' refered to. I have a theory about it which goes as follows: Empire looses Coruscant, Alliance does the old diplomatic charm, Empire takes Coruscant back-hence picture! This occurance has never happened in any game i've played, so if it's occured in someone's; speak, and my theory's wrong.
  20. 'Ninjapower,' where the heck did you come up with that?
  21. One thing that's clear by observing the rebellion files with Resource Hacker is that everything is numbered, including the ship names. I'm no computer wizz, but I reckon the numbers are linked to ingame strings or something along those lines. So I would imagine we unfortunately can't 'add' to the avilable ship names the AI will use.
  22. Yeah, i've noticed that to; not that it has any apparent effect on game speed. The only slow down i've experianced was with the superbly detailed Mon Calamari Cruiser that apparently decimates everyone's tactical game speed. Shame really, it's the finest model i've ever seen.
  23. Blast...well I don't have a home page to play around with...such is life...perhaps i'll send you an email Mr La Forge, that image of the asteroid-field was a revelation! I actually contemplated my present persuits in life.
  24. I am pleased to announce that I was wrong. In a previous post on this subject I stated the AI will only ever build one Death Star. I am glad (?) to reveal I was wrong. I have just had a very pleasant experiance, the innocence of which I have not experianced probably since I first loaded the game onto my hard drive at began my first game. Check it out: Playing as the rebellion. Do my usual thing, tweak values here, tweak em' there; cool! Hopefully get a good fight out of the AI playing as the Empire. One thing I of course make sure I do is set the Death Star values at 50/50, capacity 48 ftrs/36 troops, nice hyper drive of 45...should be incentive enough for the Empire to build one of the bloody things. Anyway game in progress, about day 150 of deliberately playing like a jerk so the AI has a chance to actually build an Empire, The Death Star, Liquidator, turns up at my rebel base on Byss. Ohooooo!..... Elsewhere, far across the galaxy in the Sesswena, or whatever it's called sector, rebel activity is getting quite busy. I send Luke and Page off to Ghorman on an espionage mission..by accident. Luke meets Vader, discovers who his dad is, gets injured, and is captured. No problemo! Becuase i've got the rebel second fleet; The Republic Fleet, docked at Yaga Minor, including two newly built Mon Calamari Cruisers; Congress and Defiance, not to mention the state-of-the-art Corellion Gunships All Fools Day and Regina..ho ho! Admiral Solo, Commander Paris Solussar, and three teams of infiltrators set off with The Republic Fleet to Ghorman, expecting only a Victory Class Destroyer for company. Death Star number two. The Annahilator. Did I panic? Of course I bloody well did! As Green group went in, and the Congress became just another brief flare in Ghorman's night sky, I quickly discovered just how hard Imperial ships had became as a result of my RebEd tweaking. The debacle at Ghorman cost the Alliance both Mon Cals and the Gunship, Regina. But hay....I just might have a fight on my hands.... Anyway, so there you are. Goes to show you perhaps anything is possible in our game! I was wrong when I stated the AI will only build one during the game. This does make one little project i'm determined to find out about during the game by sending Leia off alone to blow one of them up. She'll get herself captured of course, but i'm certain there's a couple of eggs in the game concerning her Death Star escape..... And that my patient friends is the tale of the Second Death Star, lets hope there isn't a third, because that really would freak me out.
