There it has just lost its appeal... 12 bucks/months is not much if you are in nthe US... it's a whole lot for folks in underdeveloped countries...

Me curious... What is this game?

Nietzsche... Yours is a rather scientific view on the matter, I'm not really sure we can even take the advanced intelligent beings term to describe outrselves. I'm standing close to your position, and atheism isn't the best description for it. Faith is an interesting concept, because it can be apart from religion, or rather be the cause behind religion at all.

No musical talent whatsoever...

I'm missing the Force on that list. I don't really believe in any religion(more like I dislike any church), and pretend to be an atheist or an agnostic is not really inspiring.

Ozzel was Hitler in the Last Crusade.

Virgin birth do not necessarily imply biblical. Most mythologies do have to some extent or another, godchildren conceived by women, but fathered by divinities. The thing with Skywalker is that there are no Gods in SW, there is the Force, which is an energy field. So it is hard to believe that a Forcefield would create life to bring balance, an cataclysm of cosmic dimension would just as well bring balance. Weak plot, Lucas, weak plot. Also we are told that Plagueis could prolong life and stop, but not create life out of lifelessness.

It has an ever greater effect on global economies, where the oil price is oscilating around the $70 per/barrel, and has even greater effect on countries that do not even have oil...

I do remember...

Whoa! It's seems over 1M clicked that, and they are allowing no more participants.

What were those about?

I've done that... not a particularly good idea...

Today, August 31st, Michael Sheard passed away at his home, on the Isle of Wight. Source: http://www.michaelsheard.com Resquiat in Pacem, Admiral Ozzel. May the Force be with you.

Echo? Eeecchhooo!! J's right. August tends to be rather quiet.

I tried it a while ago, and never liked. And as I don't use either Y! or any IM other than MSN, most of its functions were wasted. Graphically it's pretty crap too.

Rapora Wars: Stand Firm (Subplot RPG)
Trejiuvanat replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in Role Playing - 1
OOC: The Corran miniplot goes on the galaxy's less glamorous location: The Coronet Sewers. IC: Millennia of technological advance had never helped the sanitation systems. Coronet being a coastal city had much more sanitation problems than a city on the mainland. Despite its architectonic jewels, their pipes and sewers all went to the same place, where they would join in bigger pipes and underground aqueduct, they would become even bigger, until they were finally joined in the Treatment Facility. There part of the water would be cleansed, and some of the rest be sent into the sea. For many years –the Diktat years – the Selonians had been forced to live in the Wide Sewers, among the human’s filth. The tunnels and maintenance shaft had been made wide enough to accommodate them, galleries would open into some central nodes that served as halls, sleeping quarters, whatever. Of course as soon as no one was watching the Selonians dug their way into the old tunnels and closed them behind them. All of the official entrances had been closed when the Diktat fell. No one should ever be made to live among the filth. Not much later some low-lifes had reopened them, smuggler clans and criminal gangs used them as a prison hold- And still do at times, although known exits have been opened, though much discreet. Still some of the lower members of the populace began to dwell inside, for protection. They live inside, and go and come at will. Their dwellers have organized into a bizarre social structure that would give even the most able xeno-anthropologist a headache. The average populace knows well enough that there are low-lifes dwelling in the Sewers, but show little interest in them, pretending that they do not even exist. “Not very pretty, ain’t it.†-
And with this particual honor this topic shall be closed... 100 Pages has given all of us plenty of opportunity to share musical interests and spam. For an approriate closure I've just selected this song from my playlist. The Doors - The End

Sure you can! It's just 'canon' characters we don't want.

Stellar did you intend her for the NR or for the Empire? Her description fits the Empire, but it's here in the NR thread.

Rapora Wars: The Yaathkree Afair (Subplot RPG)

"Not that you will get much rest in these parts," Arien Yage smiled. "Diplomatic missions, aren't they wonderful?" Mara quipped, and Luke led the new arrival away from the dark corridors. "I imagine you have already detected some of our hosts security measures," Arien commented as she reclined on the stone arch. Mara nodded carefully, that was Arien's confirmation that the Force was being blocked. "Makes the travel lag the more unbearable." "I'm not really too worried about them, it'd certainly is meant to keep us safe." Luke commented. If the Force had been blocked the Rapora would have to deal with that, too. "Have you made any progress with your diplomatic mission?" Mara asked. "Not too much," Arien bit her lip. "The Vaathkree are hermetical to some extent. They do no have any explicit demand, but rather have pitted us to try to outbid the opposite party. So far no party has made an official offer, most of us are trying to outguess the other and provide the Rapora what they want." "Any success?" "Limited as ever, during dinner Etosh mentioned that 'a bit of trivial technology' could do much for their species. Considering the past affiliations to the Galactic REpublic and the New Republic, they should have had access to most technology we consider basic and trivial." "Anything of military nature?" Mara asked. Arien considered carefully. "Perhaps, but my investigation has taken another course." "Durron." Luke said. "You know what he did when he was here?" Arien asked. Luke gritted his teeth and shook his head lightly. "No, any information on that mission would have either been recorded in the old Council Library on Coruscant, or in the Praxeum Archives on Yavin, and both of them were destroyed during the war." "And asking the Jedi directly?" "I wanted to do it in the morning but I have just received a special bulletin from Alliance Command." Luke grimly said. "Ord Mantell has fallen, among the casualties Kyp Durron was listed." Arien closed her eyes and swallowed hard. Another world, so many other soldiers, officers and allies dead. "I am sorry. Does the report mention any Imperial casualties." Mara looked at her. "On the Imperial side, Vana Dorja was reportes a missing in action, most of the command crews were safely evacuated, including Grand Admiral Oreton. The most important casualty has been the loss of Grand Admiral Thrawn, in a failed attempt to break the blockade." Silence ruled over the next few moments. So much had changed drastically. Her whole perspective on the was now skewed. The Empire had lost much, but the galaxy had lost something greater than they could comprehend. The cunning of Oreton, the wisdom of the Jedi, they could not make up for the genius of Thrawn. "Shocking news," she said calmly. The seasoned neutral tone of a diplomat spoke through her. Luke and Mara nodded. Being so far from anywhere had a considerable effect, the full weight of the loss could not be felt. "This has not altered my mission," Arien continued. "And a solution must be found. So there are no leads to Durron's role in past Vaathkree negotiations?" Luke considered. "There might be one lead, I will have to look into that possibility." Arien cocked an eyebrow. "May I learn what it is?" "Jedi stuff," Mara answered after a quick glance to her husband. "Was tehre anything else?" "Yes, one of my assistants has taken a sudden interest in Rapora linguistics, we were wondering if you would lend us your protocol droid for some hours to continue some research." Mara frowned. Rapora Linguistics? That was probably the lamest excuse ever to loan a protocol droid. How many spy devices are you going to put in Goldenrod's head? Even if the Force was not with them, she could not believe Arien to do something of the sort. She did not trust her fully, and certainly she had not liked Luke's solution. But would she waste her effort to spy on her allies? "Rapora linguistics?" Luke asked, having the same doubts as her wife. "It sounds odd, but he claims some of their words sound bizarrely familiar." "He is an Arkanian, yes?" Luke asked and Arien nodded. "Interesting. I will send Threepio to you in the morning. I think there's not much more to say, and soon you will be visible even with that suit." Arien said nothing else and vanished. Slightly annoyed by the Skywalker's secrecy, but they probably were feeling the same. She took a long walk around the Palace instead of the most direct route, for the first time she wanted some time to put her own thoughts together, especially after the shocking news the Jedi had shared with her. -
Hey everybody! Reloaded has taken a new breath and is making continuous progress and is set on the path for completion. In response to the support and interest of community members we have decided to allow them (this means all of you) to contribute directly. Picking characters from the EU timeline, and incorporating them into the mod, whilst preserving the game balance has been a hard process. Sometimes it has meant to include little referenced characters, sometimes choosing and kicking out potentially good characters because their niche was already occupied. Now for our last character slots (NR and IMP) we have decided to give the community in general a chance to have their own characters in the game. For two weeks you can propose your candidates, after that a poll will be enabled for voting. Use your imagination, it's up to you to expand the Thrawn Era with your very own character. Step into EU and add something to the saga, to the community, to our TC. What we are looking for: For the New Republic: We need a command figure. [Official Posting Thread] For the Empire: A spy/saboteur. [Official Posting Thread] Limitations: ( No mixing eras. Reloaded is set in the Thrawn/NR Era. So not brining Clone Wars/NJO Stuff into it. Realistic, balanced characters. No super Jedi/Sith, etc. What you must do: Give us a name and a little background. IMPORTANT! This is your chance to get a CUSTOM character aboard! So do not post characters, that are already knownf rom the Expanded Universe, from any books or novels. Create your OWN character! Provide us with drawing/photo or accurate description. (Optional) Provide us Stats. Though they might be revised and altered at a later date. Note: Don't worry about the card drawing. To keep the Mod Art coherent, the Card Team will take care the art (that's what we are here for). Thus only rough artistic guidelines are required.

Baseball would be the most boring one, for me. [Golf, Badminton, Cricket, -all 'sports' involving a vehicle with a motor- I do not even consider them sport]

@J: My lil sister loved that site. I found it mildly disturbing that some of the cats looked like carbon copies of my three cute-fiendish felines. Toten Hosen - Walkampf
