Indeed, he could have been more important in NJO, but I have the feeling that Stackpole didn't want that many people messing with him, so he exiled him at the end of Ruin, there is his short appearance in EoV II, and later Star by Star and Allston's books, he wasn't that important for DW nor for Remnant. The thing is that he is much like Luke a Jedi of old, unlike Jaina and Jacen who represent the New Jedi Order, so I assume that on behalf of the editors they wouldn't put the antithesis of the New Jedi in the spotlight.

There are two RPG threads in the RPG section. One is Antilliles's Shadow Squad Thread where he spents that two hours describing battles against theYuuzhan Vong and the other thread is the one where any of the participants posts a contribution to the plot. A subplot, a twist, whatever. We are roleplayig as different chars entangled in a three way war against the Yuuzhan Vong, a Yuuzhan Vong faction, the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. You might want to read some of it, it's an interesting story with a couple of mad twists on the way. There is also the summary if you decide to catch on the story, or there is Antilliles thread if you're only for the battles.

I will. Iulan Stora and the Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster Rjiuvan Shai planned and executed an attack at Kuat, their goal was to destroy the shipyards and conquer the planet. As the fleet leaves darkspace they detect Admiral's SOCL's fleet of Star Destroyers in orbit. Rjiuvan decides to engage and Iulan climbs into the cockpit of his special TIE Defender to lead the Yuuzhan Vong fighters, through his special connection with the yammosk. Admiral SOCL tries to contact the Yuuzhan Vong warmaster, and this unable to use the communication equipment installed o his ship decides to send a villip to SOCL's flagship. At that moment a gigantic Star Destroyer emerges from the shipyards. An Eclipse Star Destroyer and it uses its superlaser to destroy the second largest ship in the Vong fleet along with two Imperial Star Destroyers. Rjiuvan prepares to retreat and Iulan tells him to use the special weapon the Heart of God, a gigantic dovin basal that within range uses its special ability to create a huge black hole that swallows the Eclipse and creates an explosion that completely destroys the shipyards. Many of SOCL's Star Destroyers and some Yuuzhan Vong ships. Rjiuvan and his fleet leave towards their secret base and Iulan waits to see the demise of another two Star Destroyers, before he enters hyperspace. That's it.

You are really naïve if you really believe that GL is in charge of all the sW related stuff. The folks at Lucasfilm have a special subdivision called Lucasbooks. They were the ones that came up with the idea for NJO all those years ago. GL knows about NJO, but he isn't in for the details. So if he decides to make this final trilogy he'll be (hopefully) assessed by the folks at lucas film. We defintely wouldn't want to see Anakin, Chewie and whoever else might die appearing in the movies... The movies will focus on a time after NJO, the patter suggests so. He's telling his story byu making a trilogy for each generation. Preqs for Padme, Anakin, Kenobi Classic for Luke, Leia and Han and final for Jacen, Jaina and Ben.
